I
went
in
to
ask
for
gym
pricing
and
the
first
question
I
was
met
with
was:
"Do
you
speak
German?.."
I
was
like:
"What's
that
got
to
do
with
anything?..."
They
were
like:
"The
personal
trainers
showing
you
the
equipment
only
speak
German."
I
was
like:
"I'm
quite
familiar
with
gyms.
I
don't
need
your
personal
trainer."
They
were
insistent
and
then
next
asked
me
about
my
residency
status.
Apparently
only
if
one
had
lived
in
Germany
for
at
least
2
years,
could
one
apply
for
membership
at
this
gym!..
I
was
like
I've
been
to
gyms
around
the
world
for
the
past
twenty
years
and
have
never
come
across
a
language
requirement
for
a
gym
let
alone
be
questioned
about
my
residency
status.
"The
language
of
fitness
is
universal"
I
said.
I
also
mentioned
that
this
was
very
peculiar
considering
the
previous
gym
I
checked
that
evening
for
pricing
volunteered
to
speak
to
me
in
German,
French
or
English...
I
then
stormed
out
stating
that
if
they
didn't
want
my
money
I'd
spend
it
elsewhere
at
their
competitors.
Particularly
ironic
considering
that
the
name
of
their
establishment
is
in
English!
Talk
about
appropriation!
As
expected,
this
comment
by
the
business
owner
goes
to
show
that
they
do
not
take
constructive
criticism
seriously
and
instead
disparage
the
feedback
of
disgruntled
customers
instead
of
reaching
out
to
them.
As
a
business
owner
myself,
I
can
tell
you
that
this
is
certainly
not
best
practice...
