I
have
been
a
regular
attendee
at
the
German
Bakers
Akademie
in
Weinheim
for
over
25
years.
Initially
I
was
there
in
as
a
student
among
a
study
group
of
bakers
from
Ireland.
We
stayed
at
the
Akademie
and
the
rooms
and
food
were
top
class.
In
more
recent
years,
I
have
had
the
privilege
and
the
pleasure
of
teaching
bread
and
Viennoiserie
at
the
Akademie.
My
experience
has
been
wonderful.
The
management
and
staff
are
so
professional
and
organised.
The
food
offering
is
superb
and
last
year
I
was
among
the
first
to
stay
at
the
new
accommodation
wing
which
is
modern,
spotlessly
clean
and
in
a
beautiful
wooded
setting.
It’s
like
living
in
a
nature
reserve
,
tranquil
and
peaceful
,
perfect
after
a
busy
days
teaching
.The
laboratories
are
equipped
with
the
most
modern
and
well
maintained
equipment.
The
labs
also
have
tiered
seating,
where
students
get
an
unhindered
view
of
the
teachers
work
station
and
can
easily
access
the
work
station
on
invitation
of
the
teachers.
The
students,
mainly
German
masterbakers
have
been
so
friendly
during
my
seminars
and
often
take
me
with
them
to
dine
in
the
beautiful,
nearby
town
of
Weinheim,
where
the
choice
of
restaurants
and
setting
are
second
to
none.
Many
of
the
students
remain
in
contact
with
me
after
classes
and
some
have
even
come
to
visit
me
in
Ireland.
If
you
want
what
I
would
consider
to
be
one
of
the
best
educational
experiences
globally,
you
need
look
no
further
than
the
Bakers
Akademie
Weinheim.
They
have
amazing
educational
programs
running
year
to
year,
there
is
something
for
everybody
here.
The
setting
of
the
school
makes
for
a
wonderful
learning
experience
for
all
bakers
and
food
professionals
and
is
not
to
be
missed.
