I'm a Marriott Platinum member and I tried to book a suite here in June. However, when trying to book via my points online the Wow Suite was unavailable. When I logged into the site without being logged in the Wow Suite was available. I thought maybe it was just a bug so I called Marriott rewards directly to try and book the Suite. They stated they could book it but it was going to cost me more money than what they advertised to a non member and on top of that I would be using ALL of my 150,000 points! I proceeded to ask why as a loyal member I would have to pay more than the normally advertised price they had 0 answers and simply stated that this particular property made the rules on what they allowed members. The Marriott rewards program is seriously lacking and this is exactly why the Hilton Honors program is way better. They actually reward loyalty.

We came to celebrate a birthday weekend, come to find out the pool the advertise as part of the property is really contracted out by a 3rd party. They provide 9 double chairs for guest the rest must be reserved/rented for the day. Guest have no priority in thos hotel. Cafe by the pool had one cool, meals came out wrong, along with 3 other guests around us, most just left and went somewhere else for breakfast. The gym is made for a 20 room hotel, extremely small. First and last time staying here, plenty of other Marriott properties in the area.

The staff was truly amazing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout our whole stay. We attended the pool parties which were lots of fun. One thing I will say and that is why I am rating this 1/5 is that the pool staff seem like they have to overwork for their tips. Their uniforms (especially women compared to men) seem unnecessarily provocative - like what decade do we live in? What really rubbed our whole group the wrong way was when these beautiful W staff ladies had a beer thrown on them after simply asking someone to settle their bill. All of them laughed it off as if it was nothing. That should in no way ever be acceptable. This is a definite product of poor management and unreasonable expectations by their staff members. My hope in writing this review is to provide awareness and better staff respect.

Worst hotel experience I've had in my life. I'm staying at high end hotels every month and have never experienced such a military, aggressive approach towards hotel guests ever. The security team force-opened my room after a druggie said that his things are in my room, they tried to say that I knew the guy, and I did, but he was never on the rooms same. After trying to explain more to them the manager called security and said that I have charged them with theft, which I didn't and that I am now trespassing and would be removed from the hotel at 11pm to the street!. Never caused any noise/disturbance to anyone. This hotel should not be a part of the w brand that I love so much, I am not canceling my Marriot membership along with 10 people from the conference we were at.

Having stayed in many high-end resorts, the W Scottsdale left much to be desired. The room was underwhelming, spa services were not remarkable for the price, and to top it off, I did not receive the $100 spa credit from the Away Spa package I reserved. The icing on the cake was to see a mini bar charge when I was raised to NEVER touch the mini bar. There are convenience stores within walking distance, I can assure you I did not consume from the mini bar. I disputed the charge and management refused to remove it. I spent $850 for one night and they are sticking to their guns on a bag of mixed nuts. Skip this resort, there are others that will not be such a disappointment.

Overall poor experience. Rooms are like a college dorm. Small, odd, and you will definitely know what adjoining rooms discuss as the walls are paper thin. Also a super plus when a manager calls at 1030p to ask if you want to move rooms….? There are plenty of better options up and down Camelback. We won’t be back. I’ll say this, the staff is kind and personable.

if you you wish you were staying at the Jersey Shore but are stuck in the greater Phoenix area, this is the spot for you! directly next to the hotel is a few blocks of some Senior-Frog-type bars/nightclubs. all going hard on a Sunday night. on weekends the pool transformers into a Dollar-Tree Vegas-wannabe dayclub. parking was $25. in-room water was $11. hotel bar drinks were $18+ and we were unknowingly served margaritas made with top-shelf liquor. we get it. expensive area or whatever, but the whole time we felt like we were getting ripped off. the room was pretty nice but certainly no great deal. we’ve stayed in much nicer places in much nicer areas for significantly less.

The hotel room was amazing in my opinion. Great views and definitely a 4 star hotel room. The wet deck was fun if your into chatting with people and more into the pool party scene. However the valet parking charged me $35 for $25 parking which I didn't authorize such a tip. The person checking me out even explained to me why it was $25 for parking over the timeframe I was there because I was told when I valet my car it was $17. Meaning to emphasize it was unauthorized what was charged. I find it incredibly odd that such a nice hotel would allow scammers to be cashing out people for valet parking. This happened to me and my friend who checked out one after the other for $25 valet parking. Get better staff in valet parking who won't take advantage of tipping cards without authorization. A receipt wasn't provided for the valet parking either maybe as a way to get by on the situation. I wouldn't use their valet parking again and that's the only way to park there they don't have a parking garage for hotel guests. Hotel 4/5 Valet 1/5

Our stay at the W Scottsdale was a great first stay at a W. Ethan Halvorson went above and beyond for us! We were celebrating our five year anniversary with a quick trip to Scottsdale. I contacted him via email a few days prior to arrival to coordinate a surprise for my husband upon check in and to get some dinner recommendations. He replied promptly, was always courteous and helpful. Ethan was a fabulous first interaction with a hotel brand and his hospitality driven attitude should be commended. Thank you, Ethan for everything! The room was great, with a roomy layout, well appointed bathroom and great views of downtown. Room service was speedy and always friendly. Love the outlets in the floor on the sides of the bed (so much better than your typical hotel that has poorly placed outlets that don’t work for charging a device in bed while using it because they’re located far away - random thing but something I really appreciated that this hotel did). One thing to note, especially if this is your first stay at a W, is this is a hotel with an emphasis on night life and entertainment. As we are in our bed at 10:30pm, the presence of loud music, bass and crowd noise is very apparent. This was not a turn off as its part of what make the W a hotel that stands out from others but something for anyone booking to take into account if they are a light sleeper or prefer quieter evenings hours. Please see my other reviews for The Cottontail Lounge and The Living Room (located in the W) for poor experiences at both those locations. Keeping that separate from my rating of the W but given they are located in the same hotel, I feel it’s an important thing to note but a distinction to the respective businesses (Cottontail & Living Room) separate from the W Hotel aspect.

The "W" rooftop bar is a great venue to celebrate special occasions like graduation parties. The rooftop bar and pool create a cool ambiance, and there are quiet spots available for guests who prefer to stay away from the party crowd. However, the dress code is strict, and guests are required to dress smartly. Do not wear shorts or you will not get in. Despite the impressive view and fantastic atmosphere, the steep price of drinks can be a turnoff for some customers. A basic drink costs an exorbitant $27, which is a considerable amount. We got 3 drinks for $80 (fortunately I did not pay). Overall, if you are willing to splurge on drinks and enjoy a stunning view, this place is worth visiting. I personally will never go back but I’m not a night life kind of person in the first place.

First off I would describe this hotel as a scene and place to party. If you are not looking for that or are traveling with a family I would probably stay somewhere else. I stayed here for a golf trip with friends who like to party. I do not drink so the pool scene and partying aspect are really lost on me; That being said I thought the hotel was really well run and clean. The food and service were good and the room I stayed in was a bit loud at times but really comfortable and I liked the outdoor space it had. The location couldn't be better for access to downtown and old town. Walking distance to all the restaurants and bars. Would probably prefer somewhere quieter but then you would be so close to town and would have to UBER everywhere. If someone as boring as me thought it was good then I think someone who enjoyed the nightlife would love it.

Stayed at the W for work and feel bad that a great hotel chain has such a flawed service for this location. I needed to change the Credit Card on file and front desk recommended me to do it during check out. Waited for almost half an hour at front desk during check out and no one showed up, I had to leave to catch a flight. When calling the location to solve it they are ping ponging me back and forth with different department's, which none have ever called back. Staff keeps visiting my Linkedin profile (?) instead of calling me back or solving my problem. I'd really appreciate some support from you guys.

It's been a while since I've stayed at the W. So it was time we made our rounds back to see what new and sizzling. The location is within 5 to 7 minutes of walk to dozens on nearby restaurants restaurants that suit every taste and price range. The service staff is very gracious and welcoming as to be expected from such a fine establishment. This resort certainly lives up to the mystique of Scottsdale's pampered living. The vide here is different. With an incredible second level pool, great overlooking views, as well as heart-pounding DJ music. You will get lost as a people watcher as you watch people having fun in the hour after hour. Why would you wanna stay anywhere else? The interior design and decor throughout is elegantly modern and draws the eyes in every direction. It has a restaurant and bar menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which are very simple but packed with incredible menu items to satisfy the foodie in everyone. Overall a cook spot to have some chill adult fun in the charming city of Scottsdale.

Beautiful hotel with lively pool and great rooms but it was Kyle & Brittany on the night shift that made our stay so memorable. We arrived back at the hotel in a taxi that should have cost around $40 but the driver was insisting on over $100. Kyle helped remedy the situation by negotiating a more reasonable rate whilst Brittany assured us that all would be ok and they would take care of the situation. They went above and beyond to assist us and it was greatly appreciated.

The W Scottsdale is the premier hotel right in the heart of all the action. Excellent night life, shops and local restaurants surround the hotel. I’d like to personally recognize Kyle and Stephanie at the front desk. They demonstrated outstanding customer service and their attention to detail was impeccable. They are true assets to the organization. I highly recommend the W Scottsdale!

I would leave a 0 star review if possible. my friend got denied at the door because of a thyroid issue and her swimsuit not fitting. The security guard/bouncer at the stairs was a complete a$$hole and he was denying people left and right because they were “giving him a hard time” when they were simply standing in a line. He was a d*ck and needs to find a new job. We all paid to get in and he made it impossible for us to enjoy the 4th with my friends. would NOT recommend coming here EVER.

At the end of the night we tried to get our cards and IDs back and they were absolutely terrible to us. It’s a good vibe but the service is terrible and they treat you like you are lucky to be there. I would go to any other hotel and pool party than this. It’s rare I have this bad of an experience after spending $5k.

Read other reviews! I wish I had. Everyone is correct in that this is for late night partying only— NOT a quiet or relaxing getaway stay. We booked the W for 6 nights!! because of a special event my sister was participating in. I stayed here a couple years ago and had a good time, but overall am extremely disappointed this time. Great for a late night party spot but not a relaxing hotel stay. Service: I called before our trip and requested a gift basket in the room. After assuring me it wasn’t a problem, it never happened. $40 a night to valet park! or $20 a night to park at the lot across the street. That sucked staying here for a week! Rooms: Paper thin walls. Construction was going on outside our room with the hammering starting at 6:30am and the heavy machinery starting promptly at 7am each morning (except Sat and Sun) View: a construction site It’s a late night club atmosphere. You can hear the music thumping (and lyrics!) until well passed midnight and a bar fight to boot. One guy we talked to there said he changed his room the first night and it got a “little better”. We were already fully unpacked so we just dealt with it, but no sleep for us. We turned the AC on, which added some white noise, and played soft music all night to drown out the sounds from outside. You can hear right outside the hall; other doors opening/closing, conversations in the hallway, etc. Beds and feather pillows are super soft so if you have back/neck issues, that probably won’t work for you. The room’s toiletry selection has really gone downhill. It used to come with Bliss products that smelled amazing and now you get a bar of Ivory soap and some products that literally smell like an ashed cigar. $11 for a bottle of water is insane. Pricing for all room products was nuts but the water was pretty comical. Food: We only had lunch and dinner the first day, and tried breakfast the next morning. Food was OK - nothing spectacular- and service staff were nice, but not worth eating there. We went out for all our meals. For the money, I definitely would not stay here again. I was hoping for a relaxed/calm vacation atmosphere and this is not the place for that. It’s great for a late night party or bar-hopping (if that’s your thing)

Was there for five nights, as well as other coworkers. Each morning somebody complained about how loud their neighbors were the night before. From parties and rooms next door, to a restaurant across the street going until 3:00 in the morning to just overall thin walls. The room setup is very odd, and that you walk right into the bed as you come in the room, that is in the middle of the room. On a positive note, when I saw the concierge first thing in the morning they asked how my sleep had been. When I said it wasn't due to the hotel but I didn't sleep well because it was so dry, they instantly asked if I would like a humidifier in the room and put one in there. Very nice very welcome. Additionally the conference Center is very nice, well maintained staffed with great people, and the food was actually surprisingly good. Breakfast is a complete throwaway and over priced. Got a $17 smoothie, only took one sip and explain that the rosewater was too prevalent in it and the wait staff merely said "huh, I'll tell the cook." And although I didn't end up drinking it she didn't I'm taking off the bill. Another person is with had asked for a cappuccino, took one sip and said it was terrible and wouldn't drink it and ask for us to normal cup of coffee. Again, we were charged for that. The pool deck is gorgeous however. I'm not sure I'd bother staying here again if in the area.

Not sure where to begin… although I was not a guest at the hotel I must say your business casual dress to impress code only apply a to dare I say Americans. As a Hispanic female I felt discriminated against and told only reservations to go in your night club area, I had dressed my best and felt ashamed as I had watched many people not wear your business casual. Never coming back. Thanks

So for starters I’d like to say thank you for the awesome room upgrade and for delivering my mobile key prior to me arriving. The reason I gave four stars instead of five is the room was ungodly hot and didn’t get below 72 degrees the entire night. The second reason for four stars is parking was incredibly tricky to find. No signs for the general parking garage and no one around outside to guide. The location is beautiful, rooms are clean and modern and staff welcomed me when I came in.

Lots of loud open-air bars/clubs about a 1/4 mile away that close at 2am. The hotel is probably not a great choice for early-to-bed type do to the volume. Walking to restaurants is nice.

Everything was wonderful and above expectations. However, the room and hallways need some help, at least on the floor we were on. The hallway smelled and the room's carpet had a lot of stains. We did bring it up to front desk and they responded very quickly. The placement and amenities of the W is perfect for anyone of all ages. I would stay here again.

I stayed at the W about a month ago and experienced some trouble with my reservation. This was no fault of the staff or hotel, but because of who booked the reservation for me. Jessica, the welcoming agent at the lobby check in desk, could not have been more patient, helpful, and generous when resolving my reservation issue. She contacted her director Stefon to help assist her during our check in process. He was a delight to work with as well and even gave us an additional discount on a suite to make sure our stay at the W was even more positive. These two deserve a 5 star review because of their amazing customer service and diligence to making sure our stay was an overall positive experience!

Overall a great experience. Hotel's staff is very friendly and professional. Kudos to Michael at the front desk. He was very informative and helpful when he assisted our group at check-in. Only suggestion would be to make a bigger gym.

I was here for a conference. The location is excellent, my room was terrific, the elevators are fast, the staff was fantastic, I had a great stay, and I enjoyed the on-site conference. The location is excellent if you want to be centrally located to nightlife. The hotel itself has a beautiful pool and lounge. The lobby lounge is also gorgeous. I didn’t try any of the restaurants on the property. There seem to be a million restaurants, bars, and clubs within a 10-minute walk.

No parking aside from Valet even for those staying at the hotel, all parking within a mile aside from the first two rows of the Galleria (which was closed off after 9pm) is 1 hour or 3 hour maximum. If you plan to stay in Old Town and experience any of the night life, do not choose this hotel if you plan to drive because you’re never guaranteed a place to park your car. About to travel 9 minutes driving and walk 20 minutes back because that’s the only available garage. Should be criminal for a hotel to not have any provided parking for free, and instead recommend you park on the street for free upon check in.

I paid for a room here and have been blocked from using the pool because I was wearing the wrong shorts (in their opinion). This is despite the fact : 1) I am a paying guest 2) I only wanted to hang out at the bar area connected to the hotel 3) women wearing revealing shorts were allowed in while I waited. When bringing this up to the front desk and assistant management I was told the pool is hosted by a separate entity and have a dress code (unfortunately selectively enforced) So basically, the hotel rented the pool out from under me. If you do get in, they have the hotel guests concentrated in an area away from the cabanas etc. you can get one for a ridiculous price (I believe starting at $500 alcohol minimum). Finally, the pool turns into a nightclub in the evening where they selectively enforce a different dress code. This is no way was the fault of the staff (Michael, Sean and Autumn) who patiently explained their peculiar, selectively enforced and sexist policy. They were great. Just be aware that the area is loud so pool view rooms are not ideal if you want to sleep. I will update when I get to talk to the next level of management.

THE best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Every single point was beyond perfect. The location is amazing being near restaurants, bars, shopping and everything else. The staff at the hotel is wonderful. From their style teams and talent, they really thrive to make their guests happy. I dealt with Delilah who went above and beyond for me and even found me a W cap that I had been wanting. The rooms were super clean, spacious and comfortable. Their attention to detail is phenomenal on all aspects. The W Scottsdale is the only hotel I’ll ever be staying at when I go to Scottsdale/Phoenix. The place to be, day and night.

Beyond the incredible location, cleanliness, and overall quality of The W Scottsdale, I thought the greatest thing about this hotel was the staff. Specifically, I would like to express my appreciation to Shannon and Anna for being amazing to work with in setting up my event with The W Scottsdale. They truly went above and beyond the call of duty in making me feel valued as a customer and in helping me organize my event. Because of their competency, expertise, and personalized care, my event was a success and I had an amazing weekend.

Our stay was great. Delilah at the front desk and everyone here is 100% focused on the guest. Ordered room service twice and the food was terrific. Our room was just a bit small but very modern, loved the large shower, bed super comfortable. Overall would stay for the service alone.

Best times, awesome service! Jared at the door was so nice. Erin at the downstairs bar was so sweet and accommodating. Jesse the host was very attentive and made sure we had a good time at the pool. Thank you W Scottsdale most definitely will be coming back for another visit. Favorite W property of all I’ve been to so far.

Trending cool spot in the heart of Old Town. It had been a few years since I stayed at the W Scottsdale. Nothing has changed, great customer service, amazing room and great atmosphere at the pool. Cody helped us out at the front desk and made our experience even better than expected. Highly recommend this place.

Been here a few times now. This time there was a long line, and the wait was about 15min just to get the car to valet. It's okay though, as it's always worth it. Great staff, location and atmosphere. Will definitely come again soon.

Stayed here for a getaway and R&R. Anything but R&R! We left every day because the pool scene was not what we were looking for. The service at the pool was horrible. Horrible service! No one came back to us after saying they would bring us menus and covers for the chairs. The staff, from concierge to pool, was not very accommodating or geared toward customer service. The hotel prioritized people coming to the bars and "club" more than paying guests. We returned from dinner and a day at a spa. We were questioned and asked to leave our bags outside to enter. The bouncer thought we were trying to enter for the "club" upstairs. We are paying guests!!! Never felt like valued guests here! The accommodations and service was horrible!! Never again and I'll never recommend this location to anyone!!

I had a beautiful suite with a living room and table. The rooms are very modern, stylish and clean. The housekeeping is excellent. Check in is a breeze. The in room dining is the best! Super fast, 30 minutes or less, and they don’t do the bagged up room service like some other hotel chains have switched to. The food is absolutely delicious. Tina poke bowl and potstickers are great. Also breakfast and the salad with salmon was cooked just right. The spa is top notch. Such a great massage I had! The gym is not much to see. The pool is known as the place to be on the weekends, but it was too cold. The only negative for me, which could be a positive for some was after 10pm the hotel has a club with velvet rope and all. It’s blasts music until 2 or 3am. I could hear it radiate up to the 5th floor. I had that for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) and hated that. I’ll still give it 5 stars because the implores are so very nice and helpful. Everyone has a smile on their face and nice words to say. The lobby has a little shop and i bought a few great items from it. The lady who runs it is awesome.

This place is a total dump. Paid almost $2k a night for one of their best suites the room was spacious but average at best. I had to request house keeping every day as the room was never touched by 5pm daily. Worst of all is their stupid Vegas wannabe pool party. They save about 15 lounge chairs for hotel guests and the rest are reserved for the Mickey Mouse club that comes for the pool party. So if you’re a hotel guest and would like a chair by the pool I suggest going out around 8am. When brought up to management they just shrug their shoulders. I ended up leaving early and checked into a cheaper hotel down the street that did laps around the W. All these one star reviews are not a coincidence save your money and stay elsewhere.

Beautiful hotel, and great staff other than bottle service. Bottle service staff wasn’t attentive & only made 1 drink entire time. But the concierge, wait staff, room service and everyone else did a great job. Beautiful hotel

W Scottsdale was amazing! Ethan Halvorson at the concierge went above and beyond to get us reservations at a restaurant we really wanted to go to. Jordan at the front desk check was equally friendly, attentive and helpful the entire trip. Its great to have smiling faces to see every time you walk by the front desk. We were celebrating our 16 year anniversary here with a 3 night stay at the W, and I can honestly say that EVERY single employee was awesome.....and that is not easy to find. The rooms are clean and modern, very tasteful.....Just be careful to let the front desk know whether you are looking for a quieter room or more upbeat one. This is not a quiet hotel, but they are great at accommodating you accordingly. Basically, come here If you are looking for a good time! Pool parties are great, lounges are bustling and fun. Definitely the place to be if you are looking for a good vibe!

I had a wonderful time here and a great experience. Tyler was SO great during check-in and really made the whole process go smoothly, even when I had technical difficulties getting into my room at first. I also want to thank Autumn at the Welcome Office for having the amenities ready in the room before I arrived. It really was a treat for me and my guests, so I very much appreciated that. This hotel has a great youthful vibe inside and it really feels like you're stepping out of Scottsdale into Las Vegas with the loud music and mood lighting ambiance. I'm pretty sure half the people I encountered upon entering were already pretty buzzed on a Saturday afternoon which was actually funny. The rooms are sufficient space for relaxing, and ours faced the pool which has more view/sound access (especially because the door to the room slides open) - there is no patio but you can lean over and check things out. It had an amazing sunset view as well. The glass shower and glass toilet stall were kind of weird because they had great acoustics but I don't really like the idea of the toilet echoing - and the shower had a weird image of a chick with a camera in the window but it was eclectic and kind of funny. The band performing on Saturday night, Steve Ayotte Music, was fun to watch and they actually played great music/did fun covers. Sydney the bartender in the downstairs lobby area was also super nice! Overall, I'd definitely characterize this as a lively party hotel and it really made my first stay in Arizona a good one, I would definitely return and stay at this hotel!

I loved every moment of my stay! Caitlin made it very special with a bottle of champagne and a card in our room to celebrate my promotion. Our waiter at Sushi Roku was amazing. I don't remember his name but he was from Hawaii and said he's only been working there a week so I was so impressed with his service! Five star hospitality all around!

I partnered with Laura, the Events Manager, and her team to host a corporate meeting at the W Scottsdale. Laura was absolutely fantastic. She was accessible and responsive from the beginning until the very end of our 2-day meeting. She secured us a bright and spacious conference room space that had two extra rooms attached to it, which was perfect for a colleague's surprise baby shower. Laura ensured all my questions were answered, whether it was about menus, the meeting space, or hotel amenities. When I arrived onsite the day prior to the meeting, Laura was so kind to meet me in-person to answer any questions and to show me the meeting space. We had several last-minute requests when our meeting was underway, and Laura and her team were easily accessible via text and quick to act. I felt truly cared for and taken care of at the W Scottsdale. Cody, who helped with the hotel rooming list, was a joy to work with. We had several changes to our rooming list (updated guest count, modified check-in dates), and Cody handled each change with ease. Each member of our group was even able to check-in early upon arrival! I feel so grateful to the W Scottsdale team. I would highly recommend hosting an event or corporate meeting there - you will be in great hands. Our meeting was a success, and everyone enjoyed the hotel and its convenient location.

I was at The W for a work event in their ball room. Overall this is a very nice place only having seen the ground floor. The staff was friendly but not overall helpful in directing you when I arrived. The overall ambiance was very cool. Not really my scene as I'm not into drinking and staying at nice places, but if you are into that sort of thing then this might be a great night/weekend away from the house.
