Are you thinking about skiing or tubing at Montage Mountain? Don’t! Spent hundreds of dollars to experience this place for two days on Jan 29, and 30th, 2022, and realized that this place is more of a mismanaged money grab, inconvenient to get to, and a discriminatory place (more on this below) than the seamless great resort they portray themselves on their website. We tubed on Saturday, and learned, that there were more tickets sold than tubes available. After making it to the tube lift, there were lines and lines before each tube trail. Tubes hit scattered bar mats at the end, which take away from the experience. When you would line up to go again you were informed that you had to give up your tube to someone else waiting in line and get in line yourself at the end of it. So save your $55.00 because this experience to get down a few times for that amount of money does not worth it. At Montage their entire lodge was transformed to a restaurant, and provides no place to hang out for families to warm up on a chilly day. We even got hot siders and chocolate only to be informed that we had to drink them outside. At the bar there are no chairs, so if you order something you cannot sit down and enjoy your drink. You are only allowed to sit down to a table if you order from the restaurant menu, bar drinks do not suffice. However we’ve noticed that an orthodox Jewish family who sat down after we were refused seating, who did not order food eight er, thus were not asked to leave. Some people are more equal than others at this grossly mismanaged place. If you already have a Montage card let them now, otherwise they will charge you $5.00 on top of your bill for the card and will not ask you if you already have one. Getting from the parking lot to the lifts you have to descent 4 set of stairs with your booths while carrying your equipment. If you are with small children and need to carry their gear this becomes something to recon with. On a busy sunny day as it was Jan 30th, 2022 when hundreds of people are on the slopes they employed only one person at the bottom and one person on top of each chairlift. So it happen that one attendant was looking at their phone and have not noticed that skiers were falling in droves because someone lost a ski pole that tripped those descending and could not clear the area before the next chair arrival, and this occurred about 3 times before people started screaming for the attendant’s attention that stopped the lift. To sum it up: unsafe and overpriced. For $84 ticket you can get a great experience elsewhere, where they treat you as a guest with lodge/warming area for all (not just those consuming) and some free storage option of your personal gear which does not exist at this resort at all (except w locker rentals). Stay away and go elsewhere where you are treated like a human being not a dollar sign.

Visited Montage for the first time last week with my nephews school ski club. It was just under a 2 hour drive from the Harrisburg area, but well worth the trip for a great mountain at unbeatable prices. The ski club, group discount (without rentals) was $30. Unfortunately, we’ve had a lackluster winter so far, but the staff did everything possible to make sure snow was down in as many places as there could be. 5 trails total were open, with 2 lifts running, and it made the day enjoyable… obviously more trails and more lifts would’ve been better, but for the price it was still well worthwhile. Food and drinks in the on-site restaurant were excellent and well priced as well. Will be back, with hopes of colder weather!

Went skiing on a weekend. If you are an advanced skier, it's certainly not worth the trip. First, it's January and the expert slopes are all ice. Not to say that they aren't a challenge, but you basically have to just fly down them. Because of that, you spend most of your time on the lift. The beginner/intermediate slopes are ok, but sometimes you have to wait in line for the lift since they have this new lift ticket system. I stayed there all day but felt like I barely skied. Also, they got rid of their cafeteria and replaced it with a restaurant and bar. That's ok, but what isn't is when I'm told there is a wait, then go to the bar and see 10+ tables open. Not to mention the staff was miserable, probably overworked.

I never been to montage mountain until this season I would say that I'm fairly particular about where I go snowboarding and this one fit all the boxes. They did have a few rude employees and one of the employees wife was also very rude but other than the two of them I had an amazing day here also ever been to a large that had such great food!!! They've got so many runs to go on unfortunately I came too late in the season to go on the train park but it looked amazing definitely recommend checking out montage mountain I hear that their water park is also really great in the summer.

I spent so many years at Blue MT until it got to the point it wasn't fun anymore after it became fully commercialized making it jammed packed. I heard about Montage MT and after trying it out, I absolutely enjoyed everything about it. I am sure it will too eventually get commercialized but until then, I will be coming every year to take advantage of it.

Would not recommend for snow tubing. They charge $30 and then an extra $5 for a mandatory reloadable RFID card (in case you were crazy enough to waste more money and come back). We went on 2/18 and were told that they session was 2 hours (7pm-9pm originally) but would start after their firework event around 7:45pm. They charged us full price and then still shut everything down at 9pm. They oversold tickets so the lines were insanely long. They wouldn’t regulate the line of people coming up the conveyor belt so there was a constant back up on the top of the hill and it and the conditions were not safe (super icy) so everything shut down a few times when people got hurt and we had to wait for ski patrol to come and transport them. We were only able to go down twice and some of us argued for an extra run but then someone got hurt and the employees wanted to get a head start on wrapping up and started removing the rubber mats at the bottom of the hill that’s supposed to slow people down, and were walking in the lanes to do that even while people were still going down. Several people felt it was getting too unsafe so we walked down. Horrible experience and would not do it again. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Good alternative. Routes definitely got me a little confused at the beginning. The blues turn into Diamond trails, kind of exciting. There is a small green course area good for new rookies and seemed pretty packed. Went on a day snow tubing was currently closed. Will come again, snowboarding was mint and they covered a lot of the mountain and all trails were open, very few issues.

Me and my girlfriend went for the first time paid for our tickets online 20 each. Once we got there we waited in a long line for 2 hours and still didn’t make it inside so we left bcus the event was almost over. So we called to get ticket refunds we was denied that so I asked can we use them for next time bcus we never got to go inside and they denied that as well. I proceeded to ask what about the other 1,000 of people behind us they proceed to say nope nothing unless it’s something wrong on our end. It was something wrong they end they was over capacity and refused to tell those who waited in that line until the event was over. Never got our refund therefore I’m never spending money there again.

We went here in the summer when the winter is transformed into fun in the sun water park activities- we used it as a stop to stretch our legs and make a bit of a vacation traveling to visit family. Definitely an exciting time for the youngest kids; sometimes keeping in mind ages is a good thing for activities- I would definitely say the under 12 crowd in the group seemed to get the most fun out of our stop. Clean and no one can ever argue with outside fun 😊

First of all, the staff was AWESOME! Pricing was pretty good, I was a little upset about the holiday pouring onto the 3rd of January however, that was more then made up with the amount of fun my wife (pregnant and 29), brother in law (17), cousin in law (13), kids (8, 7, 5, and 4) and I (32) all had between the tubing and snowboarding! The setup to get your gear was in stations which is awesome because im prior service military and thats all we know lol they had a military and veteran discount which is very appreciated. Food, and beverage places as well as a bar for the adults which is cool (if you drink which we don’t), lines weren’t long. Best part was at the end I realized I lost my keys at the tubing place, and all the workers (who were walking away to go home) about faced fanned out, started flipping tubes and all. We found them and I couldn’t be more grateful! We will for sure be back! Thanks Montage for the great experience!

Not a big fan! Communication/equipment and snowboard lessons here are definitely sub-par! I bought combination(lift/lesson/rental) tickets online. That was easy enough. I then called to add another lesson. I was told that I didn't need to buy a snowboard lesson ahead of time and that I didn't need to worry about there not being enough room for one more student - I was told to just show up. We showed up, and I was told NEVER to do that! If they didn't have enough signed up for lessons, there might not be an instructor that day! Well, we lucked out and were able to get the lesson, thankfully. Onto the rentals. The boots were soaking wet, and the snowboard boots were so bad that there were holes in them - letting the water in all day long. Maybe that's not a problem on snowy days, but it rained this day making things super uncomfortable! Back to the rentals. They gave a 5'8" person longer ski poles than they gave our 6'5" skier! Both were first-time skiers and didn't know better. Really? The folks inside giving out equipment definitely should've known better. We were also told to make the ski school our first stop when we showed up. It's a shame we couldn't find a sign anywhere pointing to it ! As far as the lessons- ski lessons were good. Snow board lessons were lame. They never even showed them how to get onto the chair lift! Is this normal? The lodge was homey, warm and nice. Maybe this is a decent place to ski if you dont need lessons or equipment rental.

Montage is a great mid-sized resort near Scranton. There's not much in the way of lodging on the mountain, but plenty of cheap places to stay nearby. They have great snowmaking capacity and some of the most fun and challenging runs in the mid-Atlantic, with White Lightning being a legitimate challenge. I love that they're on Indypass, but they also have great weekday specials for lift tickets. They also play all kinds of great music in the lodge. One of my favorite places to ski in Pennsylvania.

Went for a few hours on a Saturday morning in January since we were in the area and It was on our Indy Pass. Ski conditions were good and they had a variety of terrain for all levels. Lifts never had any lines but they are some of the slowest lifts I have been on. The parking lot is one of the worst parking lots for a ski area. One has to walk down flights of stairs to get to the lodge or main lift area. There are no parking lot attendants directing traffic or organizing the parking, it is a free for all. As we were leaving midday people were parking wherever and cutting off aisles and triple parking. Be warned you might not be able to get out. The drop off area is still above all the stairs you have to take to get to the lodge so it could be difficult for family's with young kids and all their gear. We normally boot up in the parking lot but with the long walk and multiple flights of stairs we decided to boot up in the lodge. The lodge seems new but it is horribly laid out. Not enough table for the space/size or crowd size. Tables are way to spread out and half are high top tables that aren't great for getting you gear on. Adding to the crowded lodge was the large school group that brought their skis and boards into the lodge. They had a single register open for food and the line for it ran across the lodge and almost out the door. The few staff we did come across were nice. I probably would only come back here if I was by myself and did not have to use the lodge as the actual skiing was enjoyable. Though would still be worried about getting stuck in the parking lot.

Love it here, you can ski right from the parking lot to a lift. This mountain is unique in that it has beginner/intermediate skiing on the top half of the mountain and all black diamonds on the bottom half. Also Monday to Wednesday you can get a lift ticket and rental for $40 if you get there before 1:00.

Our youth event went fairly well with over 300+ in attendance, The only downside was not enough snowboarding equipment for our group...ran out really early...maybe managing rental time limits for equipment shortage kind of like the tubing time slots. Overall I love the place and the people working there! They do a pretty great job! Very family-friendly.

Plenty of trails with good variety. Lodges are great, plenty of places to eat and drink. Night skiing is worth doing and snow grooming was good. Highly recommend.

Great place to visit in the Winter and Summer months. The skiing suites skiers of all skill levels. Experts will be happy with the north face slopes, there's a great terrain park if that's your game and if you have little ones or are just starting out, their Learn to Ski School program is near perfection. Brian is amazing and keeps things running smooth. You can get your rental just a few feet away from where the lessons take place. And the instructors really teach and have unlimited patience. Which is really what's needed for first timers or kids just starting out. I can't say enough great things about Montage mountain. It's a perfect family friendly ski destination. And in the Summer the kids will have more than enough to do going down water slides and floating in the lazy river. We've been to Montage dozens of times and love the place! Check it out.

For my first ever skiing and snowboarding experience, montage was perfect. Everything is relatively close together and while not very grandiose, the lodge was nice and had good places to sit. I wish water was more accessible as they want you to buy bottled water. I did both a ski and snowboarding lesson, and I have to shout out Gavin for being a super awesome instructor. Out of the two lessons I did he was by far the best teacher. George was also shadowing during my lesson and he was cool as well.

Update 2023: not much has changed since our last visit. Cabana service wasn't very attentive this time. It would be nice if they had the tubes with the closed bottoms for small children on the lazy river. //2022 Had a wonderful, late-season Saturday visiting the water park! It's a nice little water park, it wasn't crowded at all when we visited. The children in our group were young, 4 and 1, so we spent a lot of time in the kids pool. We also really enjoyed the wave pool and the lazy river. The 4 year old just barely made height for the 2 bigger slides at 42 inches (and we didn't check out the 3rd funnel shaped one). We rented a cabana for the day, including service which was convenient. In comparison to other similar places, it would be nice if they had a flag or sign or something you could put out when you wanted the server to stop by the cabana. Our server was great, and very attentive, but would've been easier all around if we could just signal when we needed something. The food was just ok, drinks were good. The walk from the parking lot wasn't particularly stroller friendly. Also, I was glad we brought our own puddle jumpers, as I didn't see any life jackets or similar for little kids.

We had a Birthday party and it was exactly what we had hoped for! Prices were reasonable. The water park was a great time, food was enough for our entire party at 15. Adults and kids had a wonderful time. Hannah B in guest services will take exceptional care of you! She was responsive, attentive and so kind. We will gladly be back.

Nice resort for skiing and outdoor Waterpark for summer. We went with family and kids. My daughter enjoyed lazy river and some other slides, but my toddler always needed someone next to him all the time. If you are looking for outdoor Waterpark for summer, this place is probably better choice for the prices. I will probably stop by for skiing as well.

This is a really fun park that is not to far away. Love the water slides and the lazy river. It's a smaller water park but packs a punch. It definitely a good time, just don't go on half off day it gets super busy. It is a little pricey but it's worth it and it's a fun time.

My work does a free Family Fun Night for all employees which was so nice. All we had to pay for was a locker for the day. It was about $14 for a medium sized locker which is a much better price than I expected. Always great fun!

Snow Tubing was extremely Fun and great exercise. Only 1 hill but still fun. Staff was extremely friendly. Both Bottom and Top Hill Staff members did a great job. Stopped in at snack bar on way out. They had fire pit and live music!

Took the wife and daughter skiing. First time for them and I haven't been skiing in 25 years. Many trails open with typical Pocono skiing conditions (mostly human made snow, quite packed and a bit icy). Workers were helpful in getting us setup properly and the lesson for the newbies was good. They have a nice bunny hill and several longer beginner hills to practice on, which is nice. Can't see the lodge and other buildings from the parking lot. A few signs to point you in the right direction would be nice. We had to ask a random person in the parking lot where to go.

Montage is 100% the best bang for buck experience in PA. Without getting into all the specials ($40 ski for all & $35 college Thursdays) you can essential do it all. Great lodge/bar & employees are nice. I have been skiing for 2 seasons now and I have gotten accustomed to $100+ lift passes when it snows. Montage is always fairly priced even after storms! White lighting is by far the most fun trail, especially when it is early and not covered with moguls. Would highly recommend checking it off the bucket list as you can catch crazy speeds as it is the 2nd steepest trail in PA. I forgot to mention that whenever I have called with questions, they have responded in less than 24hrs. They do it right at montage and there is plenty of space to cool down at the tents/camp fires. By far my favorite mountain in PA!
