Great place to walk, run, bike, relax or gather with friends/family. Plenty of pavilions, benches and large open areas to just sit in the grass and relax. Also has public soccer and basketball. + public restrooms

SWIMMING POOL: Free entry as of 8/12/23. Parking is challenging. Unless you unload at top of the hill where swimming pool is, you will have to lug all your gear up a steep paved incline about 200 yards... Very nice splash pad good for most ages. Nice swimming pool that is 8ft at its deepest. Shallow area is on an incline so great for little ones. There are maybe 5 round picnic tables with umbrellas, but everything else is FULL SUN, so bring some shade. Not much of a changing area other than bathroom stalls. Lifeguards we're on duty and seemed vigilant.

Must visit if you are around and interested in a little history tour..prices are not much and it's a knowledgeable experience. Do bring a medium jacket for comfortable trip...even if it's hot outside.

My baby and I love it. It’s nice, big and clean. It also has a sand pit which is very hard to find around here. We spend the whole day here. Go for walks, go to the coal mine, have a picnic, go to the playground. The whole day is a blast at just one place

Great place for picnics, play sports or anything with kids or adults. The playground is very included, for small and big children. You can take some awesome pictures here for wedding, birthdays and others. I recommend it

Such an interesting place to visit. I recommend this for family members of all ages. It's very cold in the mine, so dress accordingly. I also recommend wearing a headband flashlight and definitely sneakers on your feet as the pathways are wet and slightly uneven.

Authentic anthracite coal museum and history. Guide was a real coal miner.

Such a cool experience that really puts into perspective how far labor rights have come in the United States, and how we got the whole thing running on coal first.

The coal mine tour is the absolute best! If you want to learn about the dreaded work environment those poor miners had to go through, I highly suggest you take the tour.

I’ve been coming to this park for longer than I can even remember. While it’s always been good, I do have to say it has become even better. 2 pavilion areas, tennis and basketball courts, swing sets, a pool & a nice hiking trail. The coal mine tour is also nice though I think I’m a bit too scared to try it now but it was so cool as a child. The park is always kept so clean & always a nice atmosphere for people. Birthdays, family gatherings, a weekend barbecue- it is just perfect for everyone and everything.

Pretty large park with a lot of different activities to do. It has a very large playground with all sorts of equipment. There is a basketball, softball, bocce, and tennis court. Grills and a hiking trail with lots of different trees. And it has a pretty cool coal mine tour/museum. You can also go fishing at a stocked pond there.

The coal mine tour is really interesting. The stories are sad and make you appreciate other's sacrifices for our present day comforts. Great museum, stay for the movie too. John is an excellent tour guide. Highly recommended.

Overlooked beautiful city park on the outskirts really beautiful spot offering tours of coal mine. Only did a little poking around but will be back for sure. Men’s bathroom at pavilion #2 definitely needs some TLC lol

Love this park. I only wish more was put into its upkeep. Pool has been closed for a long time. Even the kids playhouse is bored shut now. Playground is great and just a pretty picnic place.

Lacawanna coal mine tour. Definitely something you need to experience.

This used to be my favorite park in the area! It looks horrible now! They rarely ever clean up the pond or use the fountain! The wooden steps leading up the hill one of my favorite aspects of this park are falling apart! There used to be gorgeous shrubs all over the white gazebo looking thing and someone took it all down now its just bare. The upkeep is definitely gone downhill!

Playground has been kept nice! I think they should have a second one somewhere (maybe more toddler sized). Whether near the first one or literally anywhere else on the property. It's such a huge park, which is also why I love it. There's so much to do and explore ! The pond is kind of gross, but I guess nature does what it does... I love the trails and the stream! The Coal Mine tour is pretty neat !!

Nice playground. Large play Area. Nice pond. Walk trail. Bathrooms. Pavillion and picnic tables

Definitely worth the $10 admission price for hour and some half long tour. Actually down in the mine several hundred sheet. If your claustrophobic or scare to tight places, take a pass or if you have problems walking, it's dark and wet and slippery. Otherwise, it was impressive to learn the history of how our country was built on the back of coal on the back of foreigners from around the world. I promise of free homes and paid labor when actually they were in company town starting work at approximately 10 years old. Working to the day they die or get killed. Definitely a great tour!

Such a pretty park! We love to take the dogs for a walk here. Their favorite thing to do is go to the stream and cool off their bellies! The park also has beautiful pavilions good for picnics or family reunions. There are nice walking paths and fields and courts for various sports. The park is always clean and well tended. We love it here!
