My girls have been coming to this Dojo for the last 6 months and they love it. The Instructors, Kebler, Victot, Mia, and Alvin are amazing with the children. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school.

We are a family with 4 boys ranging from 2-11. Dojo is hands down on the friendliest and easiest gym to work with. They met our boys (only familiar with wrestling) where they were in skill sets and made every minute on the mat a fun and enriching experience. After meeting one of the owners Alvin on our first visit we signed up immediately for 2 classes a week. The sibling discount was a huge plus. They have a super flexible scheduling method that accommodated our home school schedule at times that were appropriate for each of our staggered age groups. If you want your kids to learn self-defense, body control and discipline in a fun, friendly and safe environment, with top notch instructors with amazing individual talent then DOJO is for you.

I started training here back in 2019 and I will always think of them as home. With no prior experiences in marital arts, DOJO definitely left an incredible impact from first impression until the moment I had to say good bye due to moving out of state. First and foremost, there can be many great gyms to train at but for me it will always be the people and the environment/atmosphere of the place that will determine whether or not I say. They are friendly, professional, and overall show the genuine care and concern for their members. They are and have been unbelievably welcoming and I would say the best place to start, especially if you were like me and had no prior knowledge of what I was even getting myself into. I was committed, I started off training very little (yet remained consistent) because I worked in Santa Monica and lived in Long Beach. Nevertheless, I had no intention of going to other gyms because of how amazing the people are here. Whenever I find myself back in CA, I will definitely stop by to train any chance I get. All my friends I have referred DOJO to has not been disappointed either. I highly, highly, highly recommend giving them a try!

I started my Jiu-Jitsu journey about 2 years ago when I had a new year’s resolution to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I’ve always stayed in shape by going to a gym and lifting weights, but I wanted something more challenging and a bit out of my comfort zone. When I started looking for a gym, I didn’t know much, but I knew I wanted to go to a place that had a positive yet challenging environment. From my experience, it’s easy to find one or the other, but not both. I tried a few places ranging from Costa Mesa to Long Beach and eventually found Dojo. At Dojo, there are no egos or anything like that; just a community of people working to improve their Jiu-Jitsu skills. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and care about your progression through Jiu-Jitsu. Your peers are also very supportive and always training hard to improve their game while helping each other out. Whether you want to start a new hobby, start a new year’s resolution, or compete at the highest, level Dojo is a place where your goals can become achievements!

Our daughter and son started attending class and immediately loved it. The instructors are all very knowledgeable, incredible achievements of their own, and patient with the kids. They keep them engaged with varying ages and levels. Everyone on staff are dedicated to their craft and committed to the family environment they promote. We have been very happy with the lessons they create and the relationship they establish with each individual student. Even during this quarantine time, they’ve restructured the classes to accommodate the shelter-in place with virtual Zoom classes 3x a week for 30 minute sessions. It provides our kids an opportunity to connect with others and continue their training.

For a new comer to the sport/lifestyle, Dojo was the perfect way to gain knowledge and develops some techniques. The Professors at Dojo are skilled and comfortable with teaching anyone of any skill level; or even age. I have seen 6 year olds and 60 year olds; of course, the young ones are in a youth program. It is a great gym! Everyone is so easy to interact with, and friendly. Even though it’s a physical contact sport, everyone there is so helpful, mature and interested in helping you grow your knowledge that you always feel like you are safe and in good hands. Also, one of the instructors is a legend in the game. And I don’t mean, “he’s really good!” I mean, ask people in Brazil or ask those familiar with Jiu Jitsu worldwide and they have heard of Leo Viera. Moreover, this place is CLEAN! Despite being white mats, they are always looking fresh. In fact, I always see one of the Professors cleaning mats after and in between classes. All in all, this place is a great, comfortable school to learn how to a fast growing sport. Highly recommended!

Been training with Dojo's adult classes since I was a white belt from when they opened a couple years ago and I have nothing but good things to say about this jiu jitsu academy! The clean, beautiful design and feel of the space speaks for itself. But it's the people who really make this a special place to train. Everyone who trains come from different backgrounds and skill levels, but also bring great attitudes and a desire to get better. The instructors are top notch, very approachable if you have questions, and make training fun and easy to learn. Since day one, DOJO has been a very welcoming and positive environment to train and I encourage anyone to join a class, no matter your experience level!

Great gym with a family-like atmosphere. Phenomenal instructors who really care about your progress and potential. Everyone comes in with a positive attitude and you feel that as you walk in. It’s also extremely clean, which is always a huge factor in deciding where to train.
