Location is perfect, but parking can be tough. The check in process over text was great, my preferred way of doing it. Private room the first visit was great, really ideal. The second visit was not so much. A bit dirty, sort of seemed like they left in the middle of cleaning and didn't come back to finish? I know one pillow was definitely dirty and smelled like sweat, that was a bummer.

Very good place to stay if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower while in town. It's located on Freemont which is fairly close to everything else, it's cheap, it's clean, and it feels safe. The only problem is there's no parking, so you have to park on the street. It's near some bars and stuff so parking gets extremely scarce when people are out for dinner, but with some driving in circles I was able to park on the block all 3 nights of my stay.

Overall had a good stay—Location and price were excellent! The common areas were clean and tidy which is about where the good things end. Our room smelled awful of urine, stains on the floors and a dirty sock behind the garbage can. The showers on that side of the building had no warm water. But what was truly disturbing was our inability to lock the front door from the inside, a problem that could have been solved if there was reception… or anyone around. Didn’t see a single person during our stay but heard very LOUD sounds early in the morning of what seemed to be furniture being dragged across the floors. Also the room was frigid, we were huddled deep under the blankets with sweaters on to sleep. Overall don’t plan to stay here again if I can help it, but compared to hostels elsewhere it was clean and quiet.

Stayed for two nights while visiting Seattle for fun. I've been to a few hostels and this one was definitely the nicest. Pros: PERSONAL MINI FRIDGE!!! Personal sink+mirror, comfy bed and pillows, decent computer desk and chair, ample electrical outlets everywhere, walls painted dark (great for sleeping in), a coat rack, lockers for storage, and a comfy chair. The building/rooms have keyless entry. Bathrooms and showers were wonderful, zero complaints. Kitchen area was cool, though we never used it. I really enjoyed the vibe of the place as well, very 21st century. Cons: you can either pay for parking, or park in the neighborhood nearby, I was always able to find a spot though. The curtains were nice, but the blinds behind them were broken and only extended 2/3 the length of the window. The walls are PAPER thin, which was unfortunate when our neighbor had an 8am meeting where he was loudly talking (maybe don't do that if you stay here). I think I've covered everything about our 2 day stay. It was overall very pleasant and I will definitely consider this place again the next time we want to stay in Seattle.

great place to stay in Fremont area of seattle and definitely better than staying in aurora / highway 99! Keep in mind it is a hostel so bathroom / kitchen space is shared but overall it was clean, affordable and a great place for our guests to stay!

This is a great hostel, well run and maintained, clean, and in a prime location in the Fremont area, near restaurants and generally speaking within walking distance to pretty much everything. However, it's so expensive, even for Seattle standards, but I guess people pay for the location here...

Overall I’d really recommend a stay here if you are visiting Seattle. The listing needs to update that breakfast is NOT included, which we were surprised to realise on our first morning. However the kitchen has excellent facilities so you would be able to cook anything you want for breakfast. There are also several spots to pick up breakfast in the surrounding blocks. The place had a great vibe, simple but tasteful decor and very clean and tidy. Our room felt very dark because of the dark painted walls, but made up for that with a great bathroom and comfy bed. A couple of minor things would have improved the stay like a bath mat for next to the shower, an extra robe as there was only one and some shampoo/ soap for the shower (this is really just a note for the owner and didn’t really affect our stay). But as I said, minor criticisms aside I would still highly recommend a stay here and will certainly consider it again for our next trip.

Superb hospitality - the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable about the area! The whole place was very clean, nice size bathrooms, and we felt very safe. In a hip and trendy neighbourhood with lots of bars/restaurants within walking distance. We took the bus as most of our transportation and it was so easy to navigate. 10/10 would recommend this place! Great bang for your buck!

I am sure this is a great spot for some travellers, but it did not work out for us. We loved the no check-in and no keys. Bathrooms were cleaner than I would expect. We found trash in our room on the chairs and the floor. Only one outlet worked, which wasn't enough to charge two phones overnight. We were absolutely ready for the noise from the outside, it's a city. We were not ready for the intense creaking of beds: by intense I mean turning over and even moving a leg would wake us up from how loud it was. Even wearing earplugs didn't help cause you could hear your own bed creak loudly through the pillow. Got no sleep, unfortunately.

We had such a fun stay in Seattle. This location is within walking distance to lots of great food and coffee! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They even washed my clothes! As I neared the end of the stay, I noticed the room was a little dirty than it seemed at first since the room is very dark with dark carpet and paint. There were piles of dust on the sides of the bed frame.

Finding parking was tricky at times but the area felt safe. Nearby is a nice area for walking and biking. Our room was not the most beautiful wall(random stickers, chipped paint) and reminded me of a dorm but it was clean and nice amenities. The bathrooms are super clean and you can tell the common areas have been remodeled. The kitchen was so big and next time I'll be cooking there. The only complaint is that we were bothered by housekeeping to clean our room while the do not disturb sign was up. We still had 30 mins till we had to be gone. Aside from that it was great! I will totally stay here again. There was no management on site and all the guests got the same door code but I still felt safe and actually only saw other guests two times.

Overall, a nice, simple stay. Common areas (kitchen and bathrooms) were clean and orderly. Chris is great with communication and the codes used to both enter the building and each individual room was simple. Good location, but it is public parking. We ended up leaving our car parked in a lot and mostly walked or used public transportation. There is no central air condition, but we had a window unit in our room that kept it nice and cool. Our one main complaint was the squeaky beds. Every time you moved, there was a lot of noise making sleep more difficult. However, overall, a great value for the cost.

This is a wonderful little hostel in the heart of Fremont. Located on the second floor of the building, there is a pizza place and bar downstairs with live music on select evenings. Within just a four block radius, there are a plethora of great restaurants and tourist attractions. Public transit from early in the morning until late at night is also about a block away. This is a great place to stay!

Our reservation was for one king bed, but when we got there our room was two twin beds with horribly uncomfortable mattresses. Requested an extra room key from Chris when we got there but received no response. Provided towels were old and stale. There was no turn down service. No fresh towels provided. Extremely disappointing for how much they charge. I understand this is not a hotel but come on now. At least the room and bathroom were clean.

The name is slightly misleading my father and I thought it would be more like a regular hotel and were surprised that it was a hostel. Poor research on our part. However having never staying in a hostel it was a pretty cool experience. Communal bathrooms were clean and the room was super nice. Was gonna put 3 stars considering it’s not what I expected however from the one sentence I spoke to Chris he seemed like a cool guy and also helped with any problems we had so overall a solid experience.

Super staff, very friendly, very helpful. Rooms and shared bathrooms very clean. Sink in bunkbed rooms is a nice touch. Tall ceilings and tall bunkbeds mean most people would have enough room to sit upright on lower bunks as well as on upper bunks without hitting their heads. Comfy bedding. Lovely kitchen. Excellent location! Only complaint is the in-room lighting: single lightbulb (not fixture, just a bulb) on ceiling is tough to take lightingwise; a lamp or two would be a great addition, and/or individual reading lights at each bed. Generally though, great stay! We'd be happy to come back again.

The facility was quiet and clean and comfortable. Even with shared (very clean and spacious) bathrooms it felt more private than a traditional hotel. I appreciated the sink and mini fridge in the room, as well as the well stocked communal kitchen. Right in Fremont, there are plenty of shops and restaurants and night life for entertainment. Parking can be tricky but there is a low cost lot a block or so away as well as parking in nearby residential neighborhoods if you are willing to look. I will definitely stay there again!

Okay. This is gonna be a long one but ill try to stick to the facts. We made our reservations a couple months in advance, we were going to make the trip from vancouver to seattle and stay at Hotel Hotel. Problem #1: the conversion of CAD to USD had us very confused because we thought we were paying $400 but we ended up paying $600 for the booking for 4 nights. Ouch. This qas our fault though because we totally forgot to budget for the exchange rate which is just a rookie travelling mistake. Our room was the private ensuite, and we were not only pleasantly surprised by the interior in the main entrance of the hostel but were very happy with our room. The decor is really nice and simple but still stylish and it has lots of windows facing out into the street. The bathroom is sort of strangely broken up into different rooms but its not terrible. The bed is super comfy, very large (i think its a king). You dont need to bring sheets but there is no maid service so they wont get cleaned during your stay. There is free breakfast from 7am to 10 am that consists of toast, peanut butter, corn flakes, raisin bran, orange and banana slices, and coffee. The room comes witha hair dryer but u need to bring your own shower supplies (you can take a trip to Walgreens if you have to). The main issue was this: the garbage trucks. 3 mornings in a row at 6 am a huge garbage truck would rattle down the alley DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH the windows behind the bed and it woke us up every morning. It was so noisy. I was baffled that the garbage truck came three mornings in a row because im used to the garbage truck only comingonce a week. It was a tragedy. Really the worst part about the room was that. Also, the wifi in the room is iffy and theres no tv except for in the common kitchen. The neighbourhood of Fremont is beautiful and theres lots to do just in the close vicinity of the hostel itself which is a plus. All in all, a very decent place to stay but im not sure if it saved us much money if we had stayed in am actual hotel instead (which was the reason we chose a hostel in the first place). However, the hostel experience was nice a very casual.

Clean. All I ask for is a clean place to stay when I am on vacation. Friendly staff, nice kitchen set-up, decent breakfast selection, great security. Many times I couldn’t find my door key because of a messy purse, and I was not allowed in until I found it. I say, this is a great way to keep unwanted guests and a safe environment. Located in a great neighborhood with a lot of places to eat!

Should be called Motel Motel. Had to carry luggage up two flights of stairs without any help. Not greeted by concierge. Booked a private room which was over 85 degrees because the radiator was left on. Had to leave the room for 4 hours because the room had no air conditioning. Woken up by construction noise at 6am with a builder drilling into the wall for three hours. Got asked to show our hotel key cards every time we walked to our room even though we had only just walked out moments before. Breakfast is just cereal. Overpriced and false advertising. I recommend not to stay.

This is a very good hostel. The hostel is clean and has very good customer service. Beds are comfortable (with lockers in the room) and they have a decent free breakfast. There are Ipads if you need to access a computer and the wi-fi works well. The atmosphere here is good-I met several interesting people at the hostel and there are stores nearby for shopping, food and bars. The hostel is in a good (but not great) location located in Fremont- it is about a 15 minute bus ride from downtown. One small downside is that I did not see any group activities like I see at some other hostels.Overall, this is very good hostel and I would gladly stay here again if I return to Seattle.

The folks at Hotel Hotel showed my boyfriend and me such hospitality! I work at a hostel in Detroit, and they far exceeded my expectations. Our room was clean and cozy. I especially liked the kitchen setup and was grateful for the daily breakfast option. I had never visited Seattle prior to this trip, so I was unsure what Fremont would be like since it seems a little secluded from the main parts of the city. I came to find the Fremont neighborhood is such a little treasure of quirky landmarks, cute shops, and great restaurants. Plus, bus rides to downtown were only twenty or so minutes. I'm so glad we stayed in Fremont, as we may not have otherwise visited this gem of a neighborhood. We'll be back!

Stayed here a few years ago, the manager was terrible(it was a guy) not sure if he is still there, the owner (lady) was condescending, talked to me like if I was a child. The workers there gossip a lot in front of guests. Didn’t extend the stay because I felt so bad and went somewhere else. Avoid this place at all cost, they’re unprofessional.

This was my first time staying in a hostel. It was a convenient stay. 10 min away from downtown Seattle by bus. Tons of cute shops all around. About a 7 min walk from the Fremont statue, which was a goal I had for visiting. The morning staff was super friendly!

Really cute, boutique hostel/hotel in the funky Fremont neighborhood close to many restaurants, bars and shops. We stayed here on New Years Eve and had a private room with its own bathroom. We enjoyed exploring the various markets in Fremont. The weather was good when we were there so we ended up walking to Gas Works Park via the canal and even walked up to Ballard! Unfortunately, we forgot an item in the room and contacted the owner and they quickly responded saying it was found and they were mailing it back to us. Thank you! Easy booking, good communication for arrival info. Recommended!

I am writing this message to thanks for the hotel's service and facilities. It was way above my expectations. I've been to many hostels in Europe and South America. I didn't expect such a nice place. My special thanks to Chris who was always available to help me. Also, the neighborhood is amazing, all kinds of restaurants and stores, from Arabic food, Asian food to my favorite pizzas right across the street! I really recommend it, you can go through the neighborhood which is really cool. And the price is more than fair, cheap! for the excellence of the place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place was a nightmare. We had trouble getting into the building because no one was there at 3pm. The owner had to drive 10 min over to just let us in. Our code on our door changed 4 times while we were there, locking us out ever time. There were old AND new blood stains on our pillows. We contacted the number the owner gave us and he sent back the code to the next room telling is to just move or get new pillows. The rest we expected from a cheap hostel: thin walls, noisy neighbors, super creaky hallways, sparse rooms, and clean community showers. We will never be staying there again and we will be telling everyone we know to stay away from this place.

Affordable hostel style accommodation in Fremont (20 minutes from Westlake Center in late traffic). Ideal for an afternoon excursion away from the major movement of downtown Seattle. Free breakfast (cereals and fruit). Cozy dorm style layout with limited bathrooms (expect 30 minute wait in the morning).Parking is still scarce but much more affordable. At tentative staff and easy check-in.

I had a really good hostel experience here. The rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and all the other areas were always clean. I talked to almost all of the staff and they're all wonderful people. I felt really welcomed, comfy and safe there. The Fremont area gets really quiet at night and during the day it's a lot of fun to explore by foot! Transit to close by parks and downtown is given as well. All in one, perfect hostel, stayed 5 nights. Only concern- no outside sitting area. No big deal tho.

Chris and the team at Hotel Hotel are absolutely phenomenal! Rooms are clean and spacious, and the area is perfect! We came here 5 years ago and had an absolute blast, and I decided to surprise my partner with a trip reliving all of the fun! We got a private room this time around, which was amazing, and while on the trip I proposed (she said yes!) When we returned to our room we found a bottle of bubbles and a couple of glasses, absolutely incredible touch. If you find yourself looking for affordable digs in Seattle, look no further than Hotel Hotel Hostel!!

FYI check-in process is all virtual/over phone during covid so there is no one manning the reception. When I got there, I called the number on the front door to ask about my check-in details which were sent to the number I put down in the booking form. Unfortunately I didn't get the details as I swapped my sim out for a temporary one for use in the US. I ultimately chose not to stay there but was graciously offered a refund. I can't speak about the experience of staying there but I am very happy with the customer service.

We stayed at the Hotel Hotel Hostel for three nights. Overall a super good experience with efficient service, a clean room, and a clean bathroom. The reason for the 4/5 scoring is that our room was noisy at night.

I had a great experience at Hotel Hotel! We only stayed for two nights and were mainly spending most of our time out and about, so this was a perfect "only the necessities" option for us! We had a no-contact check in done via text to receive our room information with no issues. Our room was basic but it had what we needed: two twin beds with pillows, blankets, and sheets, two lamps, two small tables, one chair, a heater, an air conditioner, a mini fridge, a sink, a shelf, and some towels. There was a little bit of damage to one of the walls, but otherwise the room was very clean and didn't feel gross at all. I wish we had gotten a smaller towel for our hands to use at the sink, though. The bathrooms are communal, but not in the way I though. There were two bathroom rooms across the hall from our room, each equipped with a toilet, sink, and shower, and were private once entered. So yes, you do share with other guests... but once inside, it's all yours. There were never any issues with trying to use the bathroom and it being occupied, either. The bathrooms were always pretty clean, too. I felt comfortable using them. Theres a communal kitchen if you wish to cook your own food: larger fridges, oven and stovetop, microwave, sink, all the dishes you could want, plus some ingredients and packaged food left from visitors past. We didn't utilize the kitchen much due to our short stay, but it was nice to be able to grab a proper plate to microwave a leftover meal! Hotel Hotel was fuss-free necessities. A great neighbourhood too. I will definitely look into coming back here!

Great no-frills accommodations. My husband and I spent two nights in a private, king room and enjoyed it. The room was clean, the staff was pleasant and helpful, and the surrounding neighborhood was fantastic. If you're looking for a budget friendly hotel option, Hotel Hotel is perfect. Do not book here if you expect concierge service, hot breakfast, and luxury accommodations.

Excellent hosteling experience! Everything is kept clean and spotless (except a sticky aging sealant on the small tables by reception), the rooms are big, bathrooms are huge, showers are hot and the staff is super friendly. There are lots of work-trade options for those on a budget or looking to stay on the cheap and best of all you're surrounded by the Fremont art community!

staying at Hotel Hotel was an absolute dream. (see photos below for reference! no filter, I promise) Pictured below is a private room with a private bathroom, and my partner and I loved our one night stay at this hostel! The room was perfect, private, with a ton of outlets to charge our various electronic devices, and there was a free breakfast the next morning.

The hotel staff were kind but the hotel door handle came off while we were staying in the room and we were locked in our room for a period of time there were multiple stains on the floor the blinds were broken and the baseboards were coming off of the walls. The front desk area was quite nice and very clean and has a old vibe to the place.
