    This location is in need of better management! read: Today I had a grooming appointment for my puppy . As I walked in the vibe was completely off. Didn’t feel welcomed at all . My attention was immediately drawn to the back where a female groomer by the name of Adriana was grooming a small white dog . She was yelling at the dog, being aggressive towards the dog and screaming At the dog and I quote (it’s not my fault you have knots blame your mother ) as the dog was trying to free himself from her because it was clearly hurting him the manner In which she was brushing his tail hair . Before I knew it I addressed the lady that was registering my dog about her treatment. Welp I think it also resulted in them cancelling my dogs grooming appointment. Rundown of the situation: I walk in and give them my dogs records . I told stefanie he is going through his seasonal shedding and we’re not sure if the shampoo we used may not be doing him good .She checks him all over looks at stomach area, checks for rashes, my dog doesn’t have any signs of any skin issues or rashes . No redness, no scratching , no dandruff nothing ! She proceeds to give additional treatment advice that would help with sensitive dogs and I explained that I just wanted a low cut and what ever she felt was best for him . She takes my pup, I start to leave. I again address the groomers behavior, but not one person seemed concerned or embarrassed that I as a client was witnessing this behavior. She’s rolling her eyes at me but stops making comments about the dog .I walk out expecting to go run errands while he gets pampered. Suddenly an associate is running after me telling me that I needed to come back in for further questions. As I walk in I’m told they are refusing my dog because of the way he’s shedding . I explained to her again it was seasonal shedding, we have experienced this last year. I asked what were her concerns . She said he may have something wrong . My dog has been to the vet and is healthy . We had gotten blood work and everything .she proceeds to says oh maybe the dog has mange . I assure her that my dog was seen by vet and that we had again experienced this once before even with his sibling . I ask to speak to the manager by the name of John . He tells Stefanie that they could not refuse service based on assumption and to provide the service At no cost . One I wanted to pay it’s my responsibility, but for a second I was pleased by the fact that proper action was being taken since I felt this was as a result of me complaining about the groomer . They all began going back and forth that they have the right to refuse at any time and completely just disregarded the managers request . After finding my self in the middle of this unprofessional chaos I decided to leave indefinitely. Not only because of the poor customer service I received But because of the treatment I witnessed that poor puppy was getting . I wish I saw that puppy’s owner. I’ve filed a complaint, will no longer utilize that grooming, and definitely wanted to share my experience In hopes it reaches the right person in management . I also feel it’s important to share as we drop our fur babies thinking they are being cared for and never know the truth . Adriana is definitely there for a paycheck and not out of love . The treatment she provides is unacceptable because I witnessed it personally . Customers are deceived because at pick up they’ll put a show to portray being a passionate groomer . She definitely needs to revisit her choice in being a groomer if she doesn’t have the patience or the dedication to be an animal nurturer and lover . Please beware of this location . Micromanaging is desperately needed. management lacks authority and respect .the staff in this department lack quality customer service and professionalism. Lastly if there was any issue with any signs of my dog having a health problem he should of never been processed and taken from me . This is why I know they did that out of spite !!!! I hope to help a pup . Not safe

    Let start from the beginning. At the time we left our pet at the hotel we brought with him his dry food and some toys. I asked if I can buy some treats for him and they say yes. A total 3 different treats. Everyday we received a picture of my pet, we were thankful for it. But the day we picked him up I noticed my pre lose a few pounds and he was kind of sad, I thought it was he miss us. Before I left we asked about the treats we bought for him and 2 times they told us he ate everything which I didn’t believe. Well after we went home and talk about it we decided to go back and ask again, for our they give us back all the treats and things he didn’t finished. The second day after we picked him up the sickness started to showing up, low energy, diarrhea, no appetite… we were scared that he illness become more serious. was after a few days that we started seen him more active and healthy. I won’t recommend this place to anybody.

    First off, let me begin by saying PetSmart may be one of the best Pet Store Chains in the country! I love everything about PetSmart. Adrian, one of the groomers, is absolutely amazing when it comes to pet grooming and customer service. He has groomed my puppy Marley multiple times and each time she comes back to me as happy as can be & looks beautiful and is pampered which I love. They pay extra close attention to the details and that's what matters most to me. They make you & your pet feel special and always ask exactly what you want when getting your pet groomed. You can't ask for more than that. And to top it off, no matter how busy they are, they always maintain a smile on their faces even though they may be having a rough day. PetSmart deserves 5⭐'s all day and it's not even a question. Whoever is in charge at this location in Secaucus and also the one in Teterboro needs to give Adrian a raise because he is remarkable at what he does. He is fantastic with all dogs and does a splendid job grooming my baby! I'll make sure to add before and after pictures of Marley to show you why this is where you need to bring your pet. Whether you need grooming, medical attention, or if you need any accessories for your pet, they employ the finest employees to tend to all your pet needs and have the best products at great pricing. Thank you Adrian 🙏🏼🙏🏼 and Thank you PetSmart 😊 JUST LOOK AT MY PRINCESS 😍

    After a good experience at the groomer(5 stars), I brought my dog back to the Pets Hotel (1 star appreciate the workers, but managment needs to step it up) only to our dismay that was a bad decision. My dog had stayed for about 6 days and had returned home lethargic, coughing, and reverse sneezing. 6 days later vomiting and diarrhea. We had to bring him to the vet multiple times for antibiotics and blood work leaving the vet bill to be expensive. I had called and was only informed that it is hard to track down the virus. I'd love for them to sanitize the hotel and to take responsibility. I'd say it is sus that the "tips for the way back home" section of the report card brings up coughing and don't have any further action when your loving pet is sick. Take what you want from this review periodt

    This was my first time using Petsmart grooming. And I was pleasantly surprised, I got an immediate appointment. The groomer Christine understood my requests and was very professional. My golden-doodle Judah arrived home looking like a show dog. Christine did a terrific job! And didn’t mistreat or mishandle my dog in the process. (Yes, I stayed & peeked) Very happy with their service and will definitely return!

    Brittany was exceptional - kind, professional, thorough, and went above and beyond. Too many beach trips had left us with mats I couldn’t manage at home. She wasn’t judgmental and listened to my concerns, went over the options and then worked HARD. At the end of a very long groom, she wasn’t rushing us and took time to make sure I was happy.

    Hands down one of the BEST PetSmart locations! Thank you to Ashley for being so nice and helpful to me and my family. We got two new pets. One female Guinea Pig and one male Zebra Finch. Both costed $50, so it was a bit pricy. Other than that, no issues. Highly recommended!

    One stop shop for all your pet needs. Prices are comparable to online retailers. Deals are awesome. Do join the treats program. Free to join and lots of discounts. This also has a pethotel where you can check-in your pet for the weekend you are out of town or something. Large variety of pets and adoptions.

    Brought my dog here for daycare and boarding overnight and I could not be more satisfied. The service is great and my dog was happy to be there too. Surprisingly, I haven’t shopped at the actual store, but I can say that the doggy day care service is great. I have brought my dog to stay here three times and will continue to in the future! Thank you!:

    i was very disappointed of the miscommunication, they refused my dog because they wanted a print out of the vaccines, which i brought all the information, the girl that was there did not wanted to help me, i will not recommend this place for anyone, my dog has all the paperwork required, also she is an emotional support animal, she refused to call a manager, refused to look at my dogs paperwork, she said that it was a policy of pet smart, but my friend had left her dog there and they never requested a print out, which they never told me that they needed a print out, so whos fault is that? very disappointed of how they approach the situation, and the girl was not helpful at all

    Please don't take your pet here for grooming. Had a horrible experience with their grooming dept. I have spoken to them of what specifics do I want my grooming for my dog. Given instructions of not to cut short especially on the top. We took our golden doodle for a grooming treat and he looks horrible. He looks like ET. I could have asked for a refund. They ruined my dogs Birthday. The idea is to.look good. I said to shape with scissors his paw round. what did they do. They shave and exposed all his paw nails. I have told the lady that my dog will not look good in short hair. But I guess its easier to pick up a razor and shave down to the skin. They don't style your dog.. My dog came out cold and sad because he know he doesn't look good. Horrible. It totally ruins my dogs special day.

    My dog Sebago was very nervous when he got to doggie day camp PetSmart took the time to make him and I feel at ease. They made sure he was comfortable and put him in with dogs he felt comfortable with. When I came to pick him up all the employees made a point to come and talk to me.

    First time here and last time. Thought of bringing our pets here. Will never do that. Associates at cashier are not professional, agressive and impolite. Lost our business. Cannot rate zero star unfortunately. Bad employees making bad image and making business loose clients. Cashier with headphones and busy on the phone had a bad attitude. Never said thank you for shopping with the store. A look away and dissing attitude. A customer should be thanked for buying at your store. Total disappointment to come here. I’ll never come back here again.

    Alex who is the Salon manager was fantastic. We just had our kittens' nail trimmer. She was very professional and ensured kittens' were always comforted during the procedure. Totally recommend

    Probably the best PetSmart in the area. I think it is mostly due to size, but they have a lot of fish, birds, and small mammals. Many other stores (same company but also others) only have a few supplies. I've gotten healthy fish and healthy rats here, and their pet grooming area seems nice (but I have not used it). Normal PetSmart prices.

    Milo looked very happy and healthy when we picked him up. His food was well given because I saw the bowl (mix between dry food and sweet potatoes). I called to check on Milo and one male employee who answered my call shared me something about Milo that only is noticed if you observed him…that he likes to play alone.

    Love the way everyone was so nice and knowledgeable at the same time….. this guy name John at the secaucus location was answering all of my questions and giving me the best advice for my puppy…. He really cared about my puppy and told me what not to get and what I should get…. I went back again and saw him and he helped me again while he was helping others. This guy knows a lot about pets !! Give him a promotion!!! People like him make you want to shop there all the time !!!

    Great staff. They were vey helpful. Got some Guinea Pigs for my girls and they were extremely patient with all my questions before I was ready to make a purchase. Thank you for helping so much. Check out process was quick and also very pleasant.

    I commend Adrian T for all his help today with the grooming of my cats. I am a first-time cat owner, and I have two cats one is 7 months, and the other one is 9 months, and this was my first time booking a grooming appointment at the Secaucus store in NJ. My appointment was for 8 am, and as soon as I walked into the grooming salon, Adrian greeted us immediately and started the check-in process. He was very friendly and knowledgeable he explained everything about the grooming process, and I was so grateful he was patient and took his time to make sure I understood everything that would happen with my cats. He was super gentle with my cats and told me he would call me when its time to pick them up. Adrian called me to update me that my female cat was not happy, and he didn't want to force her or hurt her, so after speaking with him, we both decided not to groom her, but he was able to groom my male cat, and he came back to me so happy and so soft. Adrian did a great job and was very patient and welcoming. The store was very busy today, and he still gave excellent customer service! Thanks to him, I will definitely return with my cats for grooming service. Thank you, Adrian, for making this experience a great one!

    AVOID their daycare service! It’s a complete animal abuse place!!! My dog was left unattended for the whole day!!! They did not even feed my dog although I provided them my dog’s lunch. It doesn’t even seem they brought her out to pee!!!! I was not even expecting them to let her have play time but at least feed her! NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN!!!

    Delia was amazing! We left our dog at the PetSmart hotel for the weekend, and he loved it! He fell in love with Delia, who was sweet, and professional. She was very thorough explaining everything, even while taking care of other customers, she did not rush with anyone, and was an absolute delight. Thank you for taking care of our furry child!

    The store is clean, usually very well stocked, and the staff is incredibly friendly. There is a Banfield pet hospital, as well as pet hotel for short or long stays. My only gripe is that I shop here at LEAST twice a month, and at every single visit there has only ever been ONE cashier and the check out process can take longer than anticipated. Plenty of parking but be careful in the lot as people aren’t the best at checking/double checking before they pull out of a spot, and lots of pedestrians as there are other stores in the immediate area.

    Amazing, left my dog here twice in the dog hotel. First time a six day trip to Jamaica and the second a three day trip to Baltimore. Shadow (my pup) loves this place. I fully recommend if you need a dog hotel, PetSmart meadowlands hotel is the way to go!

    PetSmart Hotel is not accepting your own bedding for your pets due to Covid restrictions and are using their own instead. Fine; however, my dog was returned to me smelling of urine and with BED BUGS! I picked up my dog by noon and after having him one night with me I woke up with tiny red irritating spots on my arms and back of my neck. I’ve bathed him, again and washed everything in hot soapy water, still got new bites and it’s looking like I’ll have to steam everything in my house. Very disappointed and will be speaking to a manager soon.

    I am EXTREMELY overprotective of my baby french bulldog Layla - I hate to leave her with strangers or away from home! Imagine my stress when I need to leave her for 5 days this December (first world problems - I know). After some research, I reached out to Pet-smart and they guide me to the process. Pet-smart Hotel was AMAZING. I was in constant communication with them and they gave me daily updates on my baby Layla was happy and comfortable. When I picked her up I knew I had found something special. Layla came home in perfect condition and I could tell she was happy and comfortable during her stay there by how quickly she readjusted to being back home with me. I cannot thank Pet-smart Hotel enough - I will never ever leave Layla anywhere else! Thank you! We love you!

    Very few flavor choices in the higher quality wet cat foods. Bathroom is not open to customers like it is at other locations, which is a huge downside when you have an infant that needs changing (especially in the winter time when doing it in the car is not an option)

    According to the PetSmart ad I should be able "get it fast when you buy online, pick it up in store". This is NOT TRUE AT ALL!! Ordering was quick but the in-store pickup took 23 minutes!! It would have been faster to get in the check out line which stretched from the registers to almost the back of the store! There were only 2 cashiers working and no floor help that I could find. This demonstrates poor management! After pushing the button for pickup about 2 dozen time one of the cashiers FINALLY came over to the order pickup. After he retrieved my order I told him that there was another person waiting for their pickup as well since I did not want him to wait 20 minutes also. This is pathetic service!! Please correct your ad to read "We do not do online orders unless you have 30 minutes to kill!"

    Order online and do curbside pickup, it's fastest and easiest. Employees are really sweet despite being short staffed and stressed; they do their best. If you go inside you can bet you'll be waiting for a good 40mins as there is usually only one register open.

    I had an 11am appointment for my 6 month old puppy. Previously it had not taken longer than 45 minutes so I waited. I finally asked an associate how much longer he would be when a groomer shared that the scheduled groomer stopped working on him at 11:30 because an Express appointment came in at 11:30 so she put him in the back. She then told me to come back in an hour and a half or TWO hours. 3 hours for a bath, nail trim and ear cleaning? NO thank you. Unbelievable. NO communication on timing until I asked 45 minutes in. I will not be going back to this location or any Petsmart grooming for that matter. I highly recommend NOT sending your dog here unless you specifically have an Express appointment.

    Always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I take my dog to be groomed here and they love her. She gets nervous but they know this so they are patient with her. The store always has what I need and more.

    I’ve been to multiple PetSmart and petcos & when i tell you by far ! Is this the worst PetSmart I’ve ever been too. I had bought a hamster here and it wasn’t too nice ( i also have one at home which is very loving) destiny & the manager on shift (blonde & heavyset ) were terrible at helping us through this. I have dealt with destiny in the past when originally buying the hamster & no information was given , grabbed the hamster wrong & had a attitude the whole time as well did the manager ! During the exchange the manager on duty who was helping me came up to me already with a attitude. When i explained why we wanted a return - cutting me off she said all hamsters are not friendly. Which is not true. Also telling me to get back in a line which was down half way through the store Which i just got off of because the cashier ( who was very friendly and helpful , older man) told me to wait for the manager then proceeds to tell me “well i don’t know what to tell you” with my 5 year old nephew beside me. this is very unprofessional for a family pet store ... if you do not enjoy where u work ! Please do no work there !
