Camp ground was full the first day of the fair. Camp sites were irregular and campers weirdly parked blocking other sites. Power and sewer were nice. Bathrooms had toilet paper and were cleaned mostly. But the paint was old and moldy. Other than mass golf cart traffic the noise level was mild. The dust was coated and not terrible. There was a storm one night and the announcements were efficient and storm shelters open for safety. I enjoy camping at the fair. I wanted to give a real review.

I don't recommend this campground for Katy Trail cyclists if you can avoid it. The campground is a massive mostly treeless field with bright lights on all night. In addition, the Owens Corning plant across the street makes significant noise 24 hours a day. There is no obvious signage when you arrive and little to no staff around outside the fair season and no useful details on their website so you have to search the entire massive complex to find the campground.

Urban camping at it's noisiest. Constant bass rumble from the steel plant across 16th street. Tiny sites that will have you hearing your neighbors' snoring when it's busy. A convenient place to be for the state fair or other events at the fairgrounds, but that's about all there is to recommend it.

I was down here for the Missouri State Fair 4H Horse Show. We camped and ate in our horse trailer. The fair grounds bathrooms could use a lot of attention. Showers appear to be discusting. Grass could have been trimmed up better around the camp ground utilities. The ground could have been sprayed. The second night, our trailer and the neighbors were evaded by ants. Went to Menards and bought ant spray. Sprayed the grounds that night and never saw another pest the 4 days after.

Great place to ride your bike safely, getting exercise for yourself, kiddos, and your dog, on a leash of course. A great playground is on-site for the little bike riders also. The Katy Trail is easily accessed from the fairgrounds as well. At the northeast corner of the ground, you'll find 'Trails End' outdoor museum. Dining and shopping, along with occasional activities, within feet of the many entrances.

I’m glad there wasn’t a state fair happening at the time of my stop here. Good campsite. The shower/bathroom shack reminded me of YMCA in NYC lol. It was bonafide communal which I don’t mind. I met super cool fellow cycle travelers here. Good memory lasts forever.

Great variety of things to see around Missouri’s agriculture industry. Fairgrounds needs more benches. More coffee kiosks selling good coffee drinks are needed.
