When I want to go to a place to walk my dogs, run, walk with my kids, or have my kids play on a park. I take them to Sedgwick County Park I have been coming to this park for over 35 years. The paved paths a great. On the west side the paths are shaded with some mature trees, and they have a thick wooded area you can go for a nature walk if you wish. My two kids love Sunrise Park!

Wonderful place to run, walk, rollerblade, or just have fun and play outside. Love this park! Very well kept. Bring the whole family to enjoy nature and the outdoors. The shelters are the perfect setup for family reunions or any size group gathering.

Wichita’s finest westside park, just north of Ridge Road, accessible from either 21st or 13th. This park area is massive and is loaded with playgrounds, paved paths and dirt trails, and multiple lakes and ponds that can be fished or just admired along with the surrounding wildlife. The park is well kept and has enough parking even for the busiest of days. There are rentable enclosed shelters and many benches, grills, and open shelters that are all free for visitors. There’s plenty of courts for tennis, basketball, and pickle ball, as well as softball fields and sledding hills. Sedgwick County Park has it all for Wichita and I give it my highest recommendation.

Not just a play around park, calling all photographers!! There are so many awesome photo backdrops around this park!! The kids park has different sections with different kids of play equipment so it doesn’t get boring. Lots of area to go on walks too!

I take my dog on the hiking trails around here, and little paths. It's great views, has a few tiny lakes like ponds, and a few playgrounds of you have kids! For being in the city, it's very nice and a decent sized park!! I love it here!

This park is really nice and has alot to offer. The location is easy to find. There is a good sized kids playground and restrooms. Parking is plenty and several ponds to fish or just hangout and have a picnic. They have several events there, ie, Renaissance Fairs and circuses. They also have an RC park! I love how there trails to hike, walk or run. They are marked. There's also building to rent. This is a perfect intown get away and its next to the Zoo and a lot of food spots close by. Check this spot out and relax under a tree. See you out there and bring a book.

Love this park. Lots of stickers though. Don't recommend having dogs in the field.

Was a very nice building at the Plum Shelter for our mini family reunion. Only few complaints was the Paper Towel machine didn't work in the Women's rest room, the Walls had ripped spots on them so you couldn't take pictures with a large group, and there were a lot of flies when my family got there and opened the door and a few they couldn't get out and they were flying around the buffet of food they had set up. Other than that it was very nice place and I would have given it 5 stars. A great spot next to the lakes and playground.

Went to a 1 yr old birthday party at the plum shelter. It was a very nice shelter for a party and if it wasn't so cold out the kids could have played at the playground that was very close. The restrooms were clean too. It had a small kitchen that worked for the need of the party

Great option for running, walking, biking, picnicking or just hanging out outdoors! There is shaded trails for when you need some time outside of the sun. Restrooms are the cleanest public park restrooms I’ve ever seen! Parking is plentiful and the sidewalks are paved with plenty of space. Check it out!

This is a huge park. There are several shelters you can reserve for get togethers and events. Home to the Riparian Woodland Nature Trail. A great place to walk and observe, appreciate and enjoy nature. Trout fishing spots (stocked) as well as pond/lake fishing. Large RC car track (off road style). A fantastic place to take photo portraits, senior pictures, wildlife, and landscape photography. Highly recommend visiting!

Dog people REALLY NEED TO USE THE AVAILABLE DOGGY BAGS PROVIDED FOR FREE from the city around the park and PICK UP THEIR PETS' POOP. C'MON NOW. THERE ARE BAG AND GARBAGE STATIONS NEAR AND AROUND THE WALK PATHS. ZERO EXCUSES for seeing your pets' feces all over the grasses. Other than that, a great park to let your kids play and do your walking/running/biking/tennis/pickle ball/ playground/picnicking activities. (Not to mention the fishing activity?)

For years this has been a family favorite to enjoy time together, from walks, to playing on the parks, fishing and many 5k races, between road races and obstacle course races. Nearly year-round there's an event here every weekend.

Love this place! The park is never full, trails are beautifully maintained regardless of season. They have places for everyone and most importantly, there's a free car or bike show always.

Absolutely beautiful park. There’s something for everyone. While the kids took tennis lessons I took in the beautiful scenery on the walking trails. Everything was well kept and felt comfortable.

This is the park for long runs or walks. I enjoy the shaded path by the baseball fields.

It is a very nice and clean and updated Park. It was neat seeing a bridge crossing over to the baseball fields next door. Where is family jogging and their children riding bikes as we pulled in and a crosswalk available for them to cross as we pulled in. We were able to find a close location and my babie fish. It was amazing hearing the lions from the zoo roaring which was located east of Sedgwick County Park. Had a good outcome with fishing and was able to return the fish into the pond.

Beautiful park for events big and small, from kids birthday parties and other recreational activities like fishing and tennis and biking to the annual Renaissance and Scottish highlands festival that is held here in the Spring and Fall!

I attended the Great Plains Renaissance Fair at Sedgwick County Park today. The event drew so many people that it showed the demand for not having things in over two years! The event was from 10 to 6 today. It will also be on Sunday at the same time. Cost: online is $10.00. At the gate is $13.00. Kids are $5.00 or free with an adult ticket. Bring cash or pay an ATM charge to get money out. The charge is high for their ATM. This was my first time going with my group of eight. The line to pay at the gate was over a mile long. The event was made up of 90% of vendors selling all kinds of items and things that I have never seen before. You could find any kind of clothing and swords related to the era of that period. It was amazing how so many vendors did come out to make as much money as possible from people. There were only four food vendors at this event for such a big crowd. Which was very sad to see and how the food lines were 50 deep which made it even worst. I would have expected at least a dozen or more. There were games for the kids to play. I saw three different areas of entertainment from different musicians and performers. Pros: it was a great day to be out. The price was average. The crowd was friendly and everyone dd respect each other. Cons: It was unorganized and missing that degree of informing the crowd about what was in each area. It was missing that type of music playing throughout the whole area. It was missing more choices for food from the crowd who was looking for something unique and special. Vendors would just seat there and not help sell their items, which was a major turnoff. I will not be going back again to it!

We always try to make it to the “Great Planes Renaissance fair and Scottish festival”. Held in spring and fall. It’s great fun especially if you like to play the part. Jousting, with a theatrical plot. Very talented craftsmen and artisans. Jewelers, clothier’s, carvers, leather smiths, armorers, potter’s, mead makers, and many other purveyors of fun and interesting things. Oh, and there are educational experiences for young and not so young🙋‍♀️. Had to leave off a star for organizing of the food area. IDK if it’s water or electric is the issue, or something else. Very few food vendors, long lines, tables in the sun instead of in the tent. Poor trash placement. Need to take a lesson from the state fair. 6,000 attendees! I think it warrants a better or improved set up.
