We had an incredible time at Campingplatz Ambach and left feeling recharged and full of joy. This is not just a stunning campground right on the waterfront of Starnberger See, but it’s charme and idyllic energy comes from the amazing team who runs it and the little community that has been created. The Café with a hip ambience serves healthy bowls, fresh German bread rolls and delicious dinners. Live music on weekends turn the place into a vibrant dance party for young and ‘old’ kids. Bonfires on the beach, sundowner on the jetti, paddle boarding on the mountain lake, bike rides and lots more - there is something for everyone to enjoy. We came all the way from New Zealand, where camping in beautiful nature is quite popular - Camping Ambach can definitely be classified as a little hidden gem in the middle of Bavaria for which it’s worth coming back!

Great place to be! Stayed in a wonderfull, with detailed love established camping saloon. Staff is very friendly, even at the busiest hours. Also, the permanent campers are friendly and helpfull. My kids were so happy to be there. I wish the team the very best for this critical time. Thank for the good times here.

Great place! Very friendly staff. We celebrated our Camper comeback after 20 years. Had a great time (even it was a bit wet)

Really nice if want to have a shared camping experience. I’d suggest to get a spot close to the water. Showers and bathrooms are clean and easy accessible. During the night it’s super calm, so it really depends what mood you are after: if you want to chill, it’s great. If you want more stuff happening, you might skip this place.

Awesome Camping ground directly by the lake, very nice bistro (yummy coffee, cake and pizza!) and shop!

We stayed here for three days and even despite heavy rain for almost 100% of the time it was really nice. The camping is well-designed and renovated, cafe/bar and the shop are cozy and can offer a very good choice of meals and drinks. Employees were friendly and helpful. Two things that we didn't really like were the paid shower and extremely stony floor which made setting up the tent quite difficult - but you can live with that

So we never actually got to stay at the campsite due to problems with our travel itinerary and flight delays, but through all our correspondence with the campsite they were lovely and very professional. We did manage to stop at ambach for a lunch stop and the lake is beautiful so would love to try again in the future.
