I visited the Woodson Museum today during the Collard Green Festival (February 18th, 2023) and Ms. Lynette was our lovely tour guide. I enjoyed learning the history of Dr. Woodson, the history of the facility and how the area was established, seeing the art work and the Legacy Garden. It was inspiring. I felt more connected to our African American history which should be taught 365 days a year. I feel honored to also receive a brochure about the museum and its future expansion. I can't wait. If you are in the St. Pete area, it's a must see. Bring a friend!

When I think of museum, I think multiple rooms or even floors. It's one room full of pictures. The older lady telling about the history of woodson and the city could of told us that in the main room but regardless she was very informative and the black history written in the street was really what got me and impressed me.

My family visited the museum today with a stranger (now friend) for the 2nd annual Collard Green festival. It was an educational and cultural experience that brought people of many races and ages together for a beautiful day. Food and art coming together to shape minds and spirits for good.

I recently visited this beautiful museum with a few coworkers and we were very impressed with the art work, the garden area and Lynette’s story telling about the history of St. Petersburg.

I recently visited for the art walk, and I had a great time. The art walk was well put together. The featured artist was Jane Bunker. The art was beautiful along with the members of Woodson Museum. I enjoyed the people, the art, and the history that we received from all of the members of the Watson museum. Mrs. Terry also gave us a small tour of the neighborhood businesses around the Woodson museum, that was fantastic. We will be back soon.

Truly an amazing experience. We connected with the Lead Director, Terri for a bit and her vibe about the museum is on point. The garden is a joyous sight for a naturalist. Any event there will need to come prepared to match the ambiance. The artist on display, Patrick, has an eye for detail. We throughly enjoyed our time and look forward to heading back again and again! Update: it gets better! They rotate their featured artists. This current one has a style that is truly unique. It's obvious there's a jazz story behind each piece. The colors and formation of the art truly scream an abstract appeal. We'll certainly be back!

Nice museum to stop by if your in the area hanging out. It takes less than 40mins to view all the exhibits. So hard to suggest to go out your way to visit. But it was for sure interesting.

This museum has beautiful art that changes to show and give exposure to different artists. There are also different events that the museum hosts. My mom rented the space to throw herself a party. She grew up 2 blocks away in the historic neighborhood. Also the garden in the rear is beautiful. It is also handicap accessible.

The current museum is small but it's filled with a lot of information. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and passionate. The museum is looking forward to moving to their new location in town where there will be increased visibility. They are currently conducting capital campaign towards the cost of the project. It's a worthwhile investment and much needed to secure the African American history of Florida and the country.

Cozy museum. Very welcoming staff where you are greeted with a hug and eager to share information. Check it out of you're in the area.

I was a little disappointed, I was expecting more artwork and memorabilia, and history. I felt like I was at painting with a twist. I absolutely lived the garden though.

Learned a lot and the presenter was so welcoming and knowledgeable. I am excited to read “The Mis-education of the Negro”. I’m also excited to see the future expansion.

The most important art and cultural museum in St Petersburg!!! The atmosphere was not only artistic, it was an educational journey into constructing a very well planned exhibition and “Studio Art Show!”
