Urige gesellige Bierkneipe mit dem wohl besten Angebot v.a. an Weizen in Kiel! Das Personal könnte besser nicht sein und ist mit viel Humor und guter Stimmung am Start.

It has that dark cynical atmosphere of old "bored" places. The young staff was nice but the older lady was comically apathetic. The place got full though and my friends liked the beer. I had a coffee and it was not good. I think we won't be coming back.

Always a pleasure to pop in here. Came here in my youth when I still lived back in my hometown Kiel and still need to have a drink or three every time I visit. An institution and as important as the Kiel Canal. Highly recommended if you like beer and whisky, a cosy atmosphere and proper Guinness.

Came late from a screening and talk of our documentary at metro cinema, had no luck finding a spot that would sell 3 thirsty souls something until we came across here. Despite a short information that they will too soon close we still got 2 rounds and were even offered a last round while still having almost full glasses... could still sit and finished our drinks over some chat while the staff was already closing up the rest of the place... didn't get to try to food but the rest is more than 5 stars...

I love this place! If you're looking for a solid selection of beers and whiskies in a laid back pub atmosphere, this is your best choice in Kiel.

Ja, die Kneipe ist empfehlenswert. Es ist eine Zeitreise in die 70er/80er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts. Der englische Charme, das perfekt gezapfte Guinness und die kleinen Snacks lassen einen vergessen, dass wir das Jahr 2025 schreiben. Nachteilig: Die Kneipe ist meist sehr voll und dann ist es unangenehm laut und sie ist eng. IaR teilen sich die Gäste die Tische, dann wird es noch enger und lauter... Auch das war vor 40 Jahren nicht anders. Dass Tische jetzt reserviert werden können, ist zwar ein Vorteil für jene, die dort sonst nie einen Platz ergattern würden, aber ein Nachteil für jene, die früh kommen und trotz freier Tische keinen Platz kriegen.

The waitress and the place per se are fine, they have a good beer selection, neverheless, the owner/administrator was very bad at communicating, and decided it was better to have traditional clients als a group of 8 consumers

If you like whisky and wheat beers, that's the place for you. I used to live 2 blocks from there and it was one my favorite bars in the city. It's small, so at times it gets really crowded.
