We came to Selfoss all the way from Turkey. It was our second night, and we had eaten mostly our sandwiches that came all the way from Turkey as well (because every travel guide was shouting out that food at Iceland is expensive) 😄. After 2 days of tiresome but amazing trips we were exhausted and wanted to try local food for a change (and we needed some proteins 🙃). I don't give compliments easy but I can say that not trying this restaurant is a crime. I mean it, just do yourself a favor and try a meal here, you won't regret it. Actually you will quite enjoy it because everything we tasted was fabolous. We tried trout, spicy chicken burger and milfoy with vanilla cream and berries. The trout was extraordinarily fresh and delicious from any other trout that I had tasted during my life, so I asked our master chef about the source and he said it was from the river. The chicken burger was also the best in its own category. And the milföy...gosh I can eat it infinitely, the taste was out of this world; it was so delicious that after the last morsel I crave for more, more and more. Each recipe was unique, well thought and well executed. Culinary is an art, utmost respect to those who perfected it. Compliments to the Chef, our dinner was bliss. I felt the Icelandic Gastronomy to my bones. Instead of eating more sandwiches that we brought all the way, we gave ourselves a treat and booked breakfast for the next morning; because it is worth every penny.

Definitely deserves the high rating. Very nice restaurant with chill ambiance. Food is very delicious.

We got the grilled chicken, fish, and cheesecake. The food was absolutely delicious and the owners were very kind! Great atmosphere with cute decor.

This was a random find while passing through the town and I'm so happy we stopped. I could not stop talking about how amazing my meal tasted. It was, by far, one of the highlights of my trip!!

Incredible! 10/10. Food is of extremely high quality. Cater to all dietary requirements - we are vegetarian and vegan and we had options and the dishes don't feel like they're just a general dish minus the meat - these dishes have been thought out and are so yummy! We had a lovely evening. Great service, great vibe! Was our favorite restaurant throughout our entire stay here in Iceland!

Great experience. Host/chef was a real highlight with his humour and interaction. All of our main course food was very well done, from steak to fish to vegetarian. Starters (potatoe soup was delicious)and desserts also impressive. A relatively small but very well curated and delivered menu. Cosy place and great location. Highly recommended, some of the best food we had in Iceland.

Great experience. Wonderful food. Awesome chef. Update: Our group agreed this was our best meal on our trip. The evening was magical and make our trip to Iceland very special. We can't stop talking about how great everything was. I usually dont like fish but the cod was amazing.

What a lovely place! Family owned and run. The chef greeted us and made us feel so welcomed. Fantastic creations! Try the Candle Butter & Bread! The cod was perfect! The desserts looked wonderful but we were too full!!

I stopped here for dinner tonight based on the fabulous reviews, and they didn't disappoint. I opted for the 3 course meal. It was perfect after a long day of hiking. It was one of the best meals I have had since I have been in Iceland! The apple dessert was to die for.

This place was great! We were shocked to see that the owner was both the only waiter and the chef! He was super friendly and had our food out within 10 minutes of us ordering. We both got the trout that had a delicious chutney. We also very much loved the aesthetic, with a few different art pieces catching our eye. We would definitely come back :)

We are locals in Selfoss and this is by far our most precious, hidden treasure! So far it has exceeded our expectations multiple times. And with varying menu that changes regularly you're always in for a surprising treat 🫶
