I've been eating at this fish soup stall the past 2 years. Fish slices are usually amazing and fresh. Their fried fish slices are well- marinated, not too oily and retain their crispy texture hours after it is made and dunked into the soup. The soup base can be a little bland (especially if you don't add light sauce) - I am fine with that though as more food served outside contains far too much MSG / salt / seasoning. You could tell the soup has been boiled for some time from the taste and color, typical of home-boiled fish bone soup. Grouper slices are also fresh and amazing, just watch out for the occasional bone. The nonya chilli is the steal of the show. Ask for it when it's not available. It packs a punch of umami and is amazing. Staff are very friendly as well - always greet people with a smile. The portion in picture shown is for $9. Added on a yam rice. Place is also very breezy, good ventilation and nice and airy. OK to bring strollers there (diaper changing might be an issue). A very welcome addition to Sembawang, which often has a lack of food choices.

Broth is good, it has bits of crispy flat fish in it but only miserable pieces of sliced fish were given in the big bowl of soup. Tried the special fried fish which doesn’t wow me as it was coated with lots of flour and is hard to bite. Prepare to queue and it is a distance away from the nearest Sembawang mrt station.

Crowd start building up even before the lunch hour. Despite the large stall unit, ordering/cooking/pickup is limited to a tiny single worktop. No wonder it's taking them much longer here. $7.50 for fish soup is reasonable. But the portion of fish meat found in the bowl is not so generous. Soup stock flavor is nothing to shout about. Petite little fish cakes are cute to look at. Very average.

Ordered fried fish soup with white rice. Personal comment 1. Price : ok as only $6.50. Rice cost $0.50 2. Fried fish: separate from soup and taste like Japanese karaage style. Prefer standard salty type 3. Soup : but plain but at least less msg as not feel thirsty after finish the lunch 4. Bonus : the sambal chili is bonus as it come with anchovies which let me add 1 star to food. Place is windy.

The fish soup at this restaurant was delicious! It had a rich broth with tender pieces of fish and fresh vegetables. Highly recommended to give it a try!

A gem in Sembawang for fish lover. I love the deep sea sliced giant grouper soup ($10). Although it is not cheap, the broth is flavourful, with 6 pieces of fresh sliced fish with collagen filled skin. The chili is nice also. The boss is friendly and hospitable. The queue can be quite long during peak hours.

Saw good rating so I decided to try. $6 a bowl of batang fish slice soup is kinda pricey. The fish is super fresh but was disappointed with the taste of the soup. Looks good with milk added into it but it was bland. They are generous on the soup but not the fish slices. Realised their fried fish soup is very popular. Perhaps I should give it a try. Parking is limited if you want to park near the canteen. Do not attempt to double park, the security is fierce and he will hound you.

We had the double fish soup (both fried and boiled fish) with thick bee hoon at $7.5. The portion of fish is quite a large. Something that can be shared between 2 small eater. We love the soup, the freshness of the fish, the texture of the fried fish and how well the fried fish was marinated. There are 2 types of chili and both are special. Should take both and try them out. The chili bring out the best from the fish soup.
