Definitely had a good experience hiking up Mt Rinjani with Jou Trekking. It was our first time and our very professional guide (Mr Rudi) and the porters made us feel extremely comfortable. Food prepared for us was amaaazing! The tents and portable toilets provided were clean and hygienic too if you’re wondering!

2D1N with this agency, the support was efficient: we were picked up at the port of Bangsal. The explanations were given to the agency by Mr. Jou, very professional. Our guide Rudi and our porters Alex and Mandot took care of us every second. During the climb, Rudi went at my pace. The meals were worthy of an excellent restaurant, the tent was set up for us as well as the toilet tent. They are 1000% more impressive than the Rinjani, to climb quickly with their flip-flops and 25kg on the shoulders (with a smile and humor!!), we feel ridiculous being tired with our poles... don't hesitate to leave tip as much as you can, for millions of euros I wouldn't last 5 minutes in their place!

We did a 3-day Rinjani hike and were very happy with the service. Our guide was good at setting expectations and adapting to our needs (e.g. speeding up or stopping as needed, slightly modifying the itinerary based on preferences). He was also good at trying to get the best campsites, which can be hard when it's as busy as it was. We also had two porters to carry our rented camping gear and make amazing meals. We were never left hungry and had a good variety of food.

We went for a 1N2D trip to the top of the rinjani with Rudi (our guide) and Alex and Mandot (2 porters). Everything from the beginning until the very end was superb! 🌟Rudi is patient and adapt to your speed, and is of the best company during the trek. The path to the camp is safe and wide enough to overtook and be overtaken by others. The different breaks are well spaced out. The meal are delicious and the plateful generous ! Rudi even provide you some snacks along the way if he feels you lack energy 🍪😫. The camp is really confortable and the guys does literally everything for you before you even reach the camp! The climb to the top is challenging but rewarding! Try reaching the top before sunrise, it's worth it and I think the photos speak for themselves. It is truly magical! Big shout out to our team Rudi, Alex and Mandot 💪🏻🦵🏻🦶🏻! Keep that smile on your beautiful faces! Thank you again for those beautiful and unforgettable moments ! 😍🥰

The overall experience was one to remember. Rinjani didn’t disappoint and specially with Rudi’s (guide) help and guidance. The service was outstanding, food was delicious and material well maintained. The transport service was flawless and very convinient. The only weak point was the accommodation provided on the day before the trek which was very dirty and a better accommodation would have elevated the experience even more. Nevertheless, Jou was very helpful and responsive with our move to a new accommodation which is why we still consider it was a 5/5 experience.

Overall 5 star experience! 3d/2n summit Rinjani trekking, one of the more expensive ones, but you get more: free pick-up and drop off anywhere in Lombok, accomodation in homestay + breakfast night before trekking, extensive (!) meals, fruit, biscuits, water and a bottle of coke per day, chairs, decent tents, mattress, sleeping bag and pillow, a porter per person. They make the trekking as comfortable as they can for you, although you're the one that still needs to do the challenging hike! Because that's what it is, pretty challenging. But then also beautiful views! Our guide was Awan, who was brilliant, very accommodating in view of pace, safety and info about the mountain. And a brilliant team of porters. Did I need this much of 'comfort'? Maybe not, but did I enjoy it, definitely! So would go again with Jou Trekking! 🙏

The trek organised through Jou was great. Food was 10/10 and the sleeping/camping gear is good quality. The 3 day/2 night hike is strongly suggested as the crater lake is a highlight, and the descend down via Senaru path is far more scenic than the Samburan ascent.

Very good trek ! :-) We did this adventure between sisters and we would do it again! The road was changing from the jungle to the moutain slope, surrounded by monkeys, it was very sportive but not impossible. The food was varied and the tour was well organised. Beautiful sunset at the top but careful it's cold. A big thank to our guide Sultan for his smile and little attentions. Also a word for the carryiers who are very brave and carried our food and tents. We hope they are well paid in regard to the immense effort.

We did the 3D2N trek in mid-October and it was incredible! Our guide, Fenn, was super nice, spoke good English and gave us lots of interesting information about Rinjani and life in Indonesia! The porters are impressive and cook very well, everything was delicious! The bonus, they collect their waste (given the dump that it is in certain places, this is not negligible). In addition, super good transport service included before and after the trek. No regrets for having booked with them, we recommend with our eyes closed! ☺️

We did the 3 day Mount Rinjani hike with our guide Lim. The latter was very friendly, shared interesting facts about the history of the volcano and spoke very good English! The porters are incredible and cook excellent meals (curry, sandwiches, pancakes, tea, etc.). The portions are very generous and several snacks are offered. You should also know that the climb to the summit is very difficult, we are 3 people used to trekking and in very good physical shape and it was a very good challenge (physical and mental)! We highly recommend Jou Trekking! A plus: the company collects all its waste.

Highly recommended! Friendly and reliable. Pick up transfer anywhere in the island with post hike transfer to our next destination. Our guide, Benji, was very professional, and has made our hike most enjoyable with his local folk stories. Superb and very filling meals. Overall, the whole team has been 💯💯💯

We had a great time climbing Rinjani with Jou Trekking. Our guide Anton was excellent and everything was well organised. It’s a tough hike, but thanks to these guys we made it. Thanks again to everyone involved. Regards Miles and Aurélie

We had an incredibly good time on our hike up Rinjani. The entire organization of Jou Trekking is highly professional and very well thought out. Jou provided us with some equipment free of charge before our hike and answered our questions quickly. Our guide and the porter team did a really great job and really cared about us. The food was really very good and filling. Another point is that the team takes all of the rubbish away and thus keeps the mountain clean. I would definitely recommend Jou Trekking and think the price is very fair. Many thanks again to the entire team!

Had the greatest experience with Jou Trekking, and especially with our guide Lim and his team!! We did the 2D/1N to the summit, the night before, they came to pick us up at the harbour, we had an accommodation with a stunning view on the Mount Rinjani and rice terrace, especially at sunrise. The food during the trek was insanely good, I’ve never eaten so well during a trek. The portions were so big, tell them if you’re not too hungry to avoid wasting. The tent and the mattresses were SO comfortable, the level of care and service was just insane, they really go the extra mile. A big up to the porters who are literally supermen and cook so well. Jou trekking is one of a very few companies who is not leaving any garbage behind and they are even cleaning the garbage of other companies. If you want to help you can bring a small bag with you to clean a bit when going down. The last part to the summit was really hard, Lim stayed with me and waited for me as much as I needed, he had planned perfectly the time I needed to reach the summit just before sunrise, I wouldn’t have done it without him, thank you so much Lim you’re the best 🙏 Don’t go for a cheaper company, of course we didn’t need that level of comfort but the less you pay, the less the guide and the porters are paid, and they do a really, really hard work, and they do it really well, plus you make sure you don’t leave trash behind.

We had an amazing experience with Jou Trekking, Jou was quick to reply and answer any queries we had leading up to the trek including dietary requirements! Our guide Lim was incredible, we couldn’t have asked for any one more patient and easy going. He kept us motivated and safe for the whole trek. Our porters cooked us amazing food and set up a very comfortable camp every evening - thank you! 100% reccommend Jou Trekking ☺️

We had an amazing time! Jou and his team are very kind, hardworking and professional. The porters were amazingly fast, the food we had was great and they made big portions. Our guide Rudi was also amazing, cheerful and he gave us lots of sugary snacks during the hike. Which we needed cause the hike was harder than we expected. 10 out of 10 would recommend to everyone.
