If walls could speak, a story of a Balinese food affair would unfold once you step foot into Uma Bali. A home that welcomes you with a Balinese resort-inspired setting. The generous serving of the Nasi Ratus with aromatic lamb curry (RM30) is perfectly cooked till tender, befitting a Maharaja. Bebek Bertutu (RM32); Steamed duck leg in authentic Balinese herbs and spices gives off a hearty, exotic flavour that redefines soulful cooking. For sweet endings, the Bubur Sum Sum (RM5); creamy rice flour porridge well-balanced with coconut milk and palm sugar is the way to go. Simple yet satisfying.

This is my first time to dine in for Indonesian cuisines.. Entering in, I was wowed by the the Balinese decorations and furnishings which made me feel like I'm on vacation 🤣 I was greeted by Indonesians who wore their traditional hat and accessories.. the ambience and feeling were on point! Next, my friend and I ordered the foods as shown in the pictures provided.. the duck and chicken were amazing as they're soft and tender.. they came with a lot of side dishes where you can try different Indonesian delicacies at the same time.. the avacado juice is a must try as it's healthy and quite hard to find in Malaysia.. having said that, the sate was a bit fat for me.. maybe I was unlucky to get the fatty part.. Staffs were really amicable, friendly and helpful.. for example, they tried to help on the sate where they brought in to cook out the fats to make it less fat as we had eaten half the plate.. so it's quite impossible for them to replace the whole plate.. but I do really appreciate the attentiveness of the staffs! Thumbs up! It's quite easy to find a parking here and the overall experience was great. I do recommend you all to come again to have a try on Indonesian foods 👍

Last night my better half had planned to dine here at Uma as he got hooked with the food served here and he wanted to bring his teacher to eat here. We had the awesome rib set and usual the meat is soft in texture, moist and just taste brilliant. We had the 'babi kicap' Pork cooked in dark soya sauce, the pork came in nice chunk, done soft in texture. It was brilliant. Then a grilled half chicken that also came with awesome side dishes. We love the pork satay it was done to out liking. Not localised in texture, more Balinese that comes with thin layer of fat and lean meat, must be pork belly. I love nice fats. I was done to my liking. Love the food here. Heard the restaurant is thinking of making its 'babi gulung' Balinese roast pork soon.

The restaurant has two floors. The setup of the ground floor, the simpler and quaint, with a Balinese feel. The upper floor is much more unique. The seating is on the raised floor with a cushion. The decorations are rich in Balinese aura. We ordered a four person Set A. It comes with satay, sausage, chicken, curry lamb, lamb ribs, cabbage, bean sprouts, eggs and others. It should just be enough for four persons assuming the persons are not big eaters. The lamb curry is the best food of the items in the set. The lamb ribs are a bit above average. The sausage has a rich taste of spice. The satay is just average. The chicken was a little below par. The fish is very spicy, but still ok. The eggs are, well eggs. We ordered the black-eye pea rice, which honestly, is just another rice with a little extra ingredient. Overall, it is a good place to go, even though the price can be considered to be slightly on the higher end.

Nothing to fault them for. They have been around for more than a decade and the food quality, service and ambience didn't disappoint. Pork satay, Bebek cili and nasi set, excellent! Well done to the Uma team!

Authentic balinese foods in a unique balinese decor. Loved their assortment of chilis, which complimented the foods well. However, the portions were small, and they only serve 1 size. Nevertheless, it is still a wonderful place to enjoy something out of the norm.

Great place for non-halal thai food. The pork ribs are amazing. If in a group, best to share the rice sets. Also the cucumber drink is w must try, very refreshing. Place is a little secluded but ample parking. Service can be a little slow and price on the higher side.

Balinese soothing environment for a relaxed lunch. Recommended for the juice apukat , bebek mengoreng , pork sate and pork sausage. Food generally ok, but..hmm . just slightly lacking excitement...

Good experience of Balinese food in Kota Damansara. They offered lunch set which included a main course and a drink of your choice. The sweet sauce pork is amazing and comes with a good portion too. The only problem is there are a big order for takeaway before us and we waited for 30 mins for all our food to be served.

Must call to book for weekend dinner. Food is prepared when order so it takes around 20 minutes for the 1st dish to arrive. Can try the Pork Satay 1st as appetiser. The atmosphere is a bit noisy as the sound reflects !

Yummy Balinese food. Ordered the sharing platter. Chicken one was my least favourite but the rest were delicious esp the cabbage! The inji dessert would be better with thicker Santan.

The environment was good, quiet and enjoyable! The pork satay is not recommended, too much of fats. The curry pork rice was not bad, I liked the sambal and chili sauce. Overall is not bad, but it is abit pricy.

Stars for the cleanliness and ambience. Food was nothing special to shout about.. My fried duck and the minced fish sate were too dry... the drinks were okay... slightly pricey for the food quality that I got.

Authentic and best Balinese (non-halal) food I ever had. Stumbled to this restaurant when we were in that area and looking for Indonesian food. We just walk-in since it's just me and my husband and they just open for lunch time. But the restaurant filled with customers within a short period. I heard you might need to call for bookings if you go with big group and dinner time. And they have 2nd floor to cater more customers. The rice set portions are huge for me and my husband. Thus make the price more reasonable with that portion size. Staff are friendly and attentive. Went there 2nd time for dinner within a month 🤭. Recommended!

Great place to visit for Balinese food , of course non-halal. Ambience is nice for photography. Food is above average for sure. Definitely gonna visit again to try other food in the menu. *do make reservation , the place is crowded during dining hours.

A nice Balinese restaurant. Nice decoration. The set lunch portion was just right for lunch, not too heavy. The best in the set lunch was the chili. Down side was that we were directed to sit on the floor with low table. It was a challenge for me who isn't abke tonsit cross legged. Also, with many people removing their shoes, the smell in the air took a few minutes to get used to. One plus point- the staff was friendly and couteous.

Food was top notch. If you been to Ole Ole Bali will know what to expect. Both also good and very similar types of good. But ume Bali seems to be on par or slightly cheaper . Taste wise I feel Ume Bali win. Overall on top of the excellent and delicious tasting food, love the restaurant, service was good and the atmosphere fantastic. I particularly love the pork satay 😋

The food is so good. I enjoyed the fluffy rice thoroughly. Food presentation and atmosphere are lovely. Service was pleasant too. Why didn't I come here more often? I must come back to try every dish.

Bali theme restaurant, very chill and calm environment. First floor are all seat on floor like tatami style. Only the ground floor are seated on chair which you need to book in advance to avoid disappointment as seats are limited. Food and drinks taste good, overall a satisfied experience. As I order package set, I get to try varieties of food and meat. Price are on higher side, around RM40+- per pax. Will come back to try again.

The Uma (Sawah Padi) =Like Paddy, the Bigger the Grain Grows, the Lower the Plant Bends =As One Gains more Knowledge, One Becomes more Humble Just like how the restaurant carries it's name, this little humble restaurant at Kota Damansara, served one of the authentic Balinese cuisine i have ever tasted. The dishes is presented on Banana Leaf, and full of characters. It's simply takes me to the Bali, on every spoonful of their foods, and putting a big smile on my face! Will definitely come again!

Visited 2/5/22 during dinner time around 6.30pm. Pre-book the table & is seated at upstair. Seating on a cushion like tatami dining style looks interesting but definitely you may feel uncomfortable to sit with seiza style or crossing 2 legs sitting style. You will be ended with cramp & tingling legs. Ambient - 3/5 . Averagely . Not to say very impressive but is comfortable though Food - 3/5 . What I ordered doesn’t really meet my expectation. 1. Balinese spicy steamed duck - kind of lacking of taste. Don’t really like the kind of gravy in which I feel the taste is lacking. 2. Pork satay (sate celeng) - a bit burned but taste wise still ok. 3. Mixed vege salad - this is tasteless ! 4. Yellow rice - you won’t feel any turmeric fragrance . Kinda like a normal rice. 5. Bitternut cracker (kerupuk emping) - a keropok with little salty taste but definitely unlike usual keropok . Normal keropok is nicer though. Hahhaa Service - May be is peak hour, manpower not enough, they will forget to give you chili sauce & satay sauce till you remind them & ask for. The sauce wasn’t really impressive though. Conclusion : my 1st time dining with Uma Bali, it’s probably hard for me to go back for another visit.
