Awesome museum that help us to know aboriginal people‘s culture and art. Can find variety of cultural relics and learn the story behind, the director of museum —Mr Leonard is friendly and love to share knowledge. I think it is the best Aboriginal theme museum I‘ve ever seen. The location is just behind the pasar seni, walk straight to the end and you will see another building full of figure painting, take lift to 3rd floor and you will see it(Ticket is Rm5/person).

Pretty Hidden Private Museum Full of Ethnic Malaysia Antiques. Each piece has its own story and if you are lucky the owner Leonard will take his time in explaining to you. Most of the collection are focus on Borneo tribes arts and crafts. you will find voodoo dolls, mask, tribe leader accessories, witch craft trinkets, textile and much more For a Small RM5 fee, its more than worth it. He mentioned that he have suffered from covid, its the least we can do to support this one of a kind museum If you are looking for this place, find for hidden stairs and walk up or ask the information centre in central market

Beautiful original ethnic pieces! I knew this would be a museum and shop, but did not know that it would be sooo nice. It is not very large but I spent several hours here watching the unique pieces and talking to the lovely owner, collector, Indiana Jones of today - Leonard Yiu. He is so nice, and happy to tell the story of the different pieces. There are all sorts of magical trinkets, shaman stafs, protective neck pieces, face masks, carved sculls, beautiful fabrics and more. About half of the stuff is for sale and half belongs to Mr Yiu's private collection/museum. There is no entrance fee, and I was not allowed to give him any money even after taking up so much of his time. So if you're on a budget, don't worry. If you like this kind of stuff I strongly recommend going! Mr Yiu also has an other place called art house gallery, with mainly Chinese collections at the second floor of Wisma cosway. I have yet to go there!

Could be interesting, but I think, when reading other reviews, this place loses its magic when the owner is not present himself. When I was there, a grumpy lady was there and wanted us to buy postcards?!?! Strange experience. Without explanation the artwork is not easy to understand, if you, like me, have no knowledge about Borneo's art.

The most fun place for a night out, lots of antiques and art are sold here, and coincidentally there is someone selling temporary tattoos, you can stop by for a moment.

If you have very limited time in KL and you can only pick a few places to visit, The Art House Gallery is definitely one of the place you should not miss. It is the first privately owned mini-museum in KL combining both modern and ethnic arts. You can find many beautiful priceless art pieces collected by the owner Leonard Yiu spending many years of effort walking through hidden places and primitive tribes of South East Asia. Even you might not be an "art person" you will find it to be the most pleasurable activities especially in the hot afternoon! Be there!

This private museum is more intriguing and interesting than items I've seen at the national museum. Items come from various parts of Asia and the owner seems knowledgeable in their origins and their purpose. There are items for sale and a separate sections not for sale, for which we are thankful to be able to view them. Entrance to a the crafts section requires a Rm5 donation that goes to the upkeep of the museum.

It's a real find for us at KL. There is now an entrance fee of 5 RM. We understand this private museum has been facing quite some trouble due to the covid situation. The museum consists of three halls: the first two have all sorts of artwork for sale, and the last exhibits the owner's personal collections. The owner, Mr. Yiu, is extremely knowledgeable -- the man is an ethnic art enthusiast and surely also an accidental anthropologist. It's a unique experience of listening to his stories about those collections. Many personal accounts behind the artifacts are just amazing. Highly recommend!

One of the most interesting museums I've been to. The owner was very knowledgeable, gregarious, and told many interesting stories behind the exhibits. There were hundreds of items from cultures all around south east Asia and China.

Very bad experience. The content inside is not worth the experience of scanning the QR code to register, checking the bag twice and then throwing the bag like garbage in a deep wooden box out of sight of the staff. The location is very poor. The original intention of its design may be to educate children, so it is a parent-child center. Once there are many children, it will be very noisy. It is recommended that you go to a museum where you buy tickets. The collections of real museums are priceless and they also have genuine works of art. The most important thing is to respect the visitors, not to rummage through your bags, and to treat you as an individual.

Really nice collection of ethnic artifacts, with focus in Borneo. The masks collections (both the ones in the museum and in the store) are very impressive.

Possibly the greatest collection of south East Asian (and China) artifacts in all of south east Asia that isn’t a museum. He’s an incredible collector and sells and ships everything at fair price!

Wow! Art House Gallery can be listed as the best antique shop cum art gallery in town. The antique items are very fine collections from all over the south East Asia region. As i know, the director is an adventurer himself. He has made numerous trips oversea especially to the remote area of Indonesia,eg,Sumba Island, Bali and Kalimantan island as well.He is also keeping some fine tribal art as his own collection. As i learned, his highest ambition is to set up an Ethnic Muzium which house the most original tribal arts and artifact from the above area mentioned in time to come.It is a pleasure to see that at present, he has a mini tribal collection in his gallery already. Very precious and encouraging indeed! Art House Gallery, thumb up to all the effort! keep going....

Hello hello Leonardo here to discover and explore beautiful and useful places like this small at ethnological Art craft Museum maybe more exhibition 😀 I was looking for an Historical Museum Iwas looking for art museum I was looking for the history of the original inhabitants of Malaysia and so on the end I try to get everything in one 😀 not really 😉 But I felt me bery comfortable in this great collection of West Malaysia and very impressed by the simple but emotional crafts of the original people in Borneo. Lets have a look, lets speak my fotos and the craft for it self Highly recommended to get the imagination of the beautiful and very white range of art and craft bei original people. 😊 Leo

This is a really fabulous little collection of great indigenous art and artifacts. It really is a must see if you are in the area. Doesn't take long and the owner only charges 5 for the visit (and may even waive the fee). The art shop also has really good stuff as well. Highly recommended.

Extraordinary large collection that is like a museum full of antiques and artifacts from different parts of the world. A middle-aged woman working there, who I think I recall was Chinese, was extremely informative and she wasn't even the owner. She loved to share the history and stories of these pieces and is a very friendly warm person.

A very interesting place. Although it is a private museum, the contents are very rich, including portraits of artists and cultural relics. The clerk will also explain it clearly. If you want to understand the culture of ethnic minorities, it is highly recommended to come here.

Wonderful museum that teaches us about the art and culture of indigenous people. can discover a range of cultural artefacts and discover their histories; Mr. Leonard, the museum's director, is amiable and loves to impart knowledge. I consider it to be the best museum I've ever seen with an Aboriginal theme.

It's an art house/gallery displaying collectibles items for sale. By no means int's a museum. Location can be a little tricky, it's on the second floor at the back of the central market (different building). Bathrooms will cost you 0.6 MYR. Items are from various ethnic groups in china, thailand, indonesia: such as necklages, and other exotic items. If you're into those kind of things, don't miss this one.
