Really enjoyed the cuppa latte today, thanks to the barista today. First time enjoying Ethiopian coffee . The Cinnamon Roll was pretty good, too. I prefer a stronger flavored one, but it's nice too. The black coffee was pretty good . If ur a coffee lover , do try it out here

When you are passionate about your art, it shows. Anyone who has tried the croissants and viennoiseries baked by the loving hands and heart of the talented Taufique will be able to feel and taste that magic. What is a really good croissant? It’s the superbly flaky crust baked to a golden tan, with airy honeycomb, balanced with sweet notes and savoury tang of lactic butter, like these gorgeous ones here. I like my croissants with a little heft and the honeycomb not so dry and these are just perfect. You can taste the quality of the French AOP butter, I was told Isigny Sainte-Mère was used and though I do not profess to be able to tell the delicate differences and complexities of the terroir in all the great French AOP butters though I do use them in my own bakes, but I could definitely taste fineness and deliciousness here. I’ve tried croissants in many places in France, in Paris, Cannes, Aix, Provence, Les Sables, Avoine, Cappelle la Grande, and various towns and I liked the ones from Du Pain et des Idées best. Outside of Du Pain, I can say for me, these beautifully and lovingly hand laminated croissants come very close and are the best I have ever had. Hands down the best croissants in KL. Don't forget to try their coffee, they are certainly done right! 11 stars out of 10, because all that care in his craftsmanship and excellent service deserves more. This is almost a one man show, have a bit of patience when it gets busy, and you will be rewarded with yummy stuff.

Haven't been here since before the lockdown. The quality of coffee is still tops and fresh blueberry Danish pastry made from imported French flour truly highlights the crispy dough and strikes a good balance between sweet and tartness, unlike other commercial ones that's just sweet. Sourdough pizza is MamaMia. The cheese is light and cheesy and balanced with the bright sauce. Oh did I mention the coffee...? Was too busy enjoying the complex flavors I forgot to take the food picture....

Nice cafe, confy and sweet place to hang out. They make nice coffee. Cakes are okay, not the best one, but overall okay. Service is excellent. So it is a recommended place. Parking is pretty easy, as there are basement car parks, and there is a staircase connected to carpark just in front of the cafe.

Nestled away is a true gem - a cafe where expertise in espresso and pastry collide to create an unforgettable experience. This isn't just any cafe; it's the domain of Bro Taufique, a barista and baker whose passion shines through in every cup and croissant. I opted for the single-origin Indonesia Pucuk Sindoro latte, known for its nutty notes. Bro Taufique, with his extensive knowledge of espresso, crafted a latte that was smooth & balanced. But Bro Taufique's expertise goes beyond coffee. He's also a master baker, and it shows in his creations. I got a chance to eat freshly baked buttery & flaky croissant. Not only did he whip up the perfect latte, but he surprised me with a delightful fruity Rwandan latte from Schot Roastery. This cafe isn't just about the coffee and pastries; it's about the experience. Bro Taufique's friendly demeanor, combined with his undeniable talent, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're a seasoned coffee aficionado or simply looking for a delicious treat, this hidden gem is a must-visit. I guarantee you'll be back for more, just like I will! P/s : I was told the espresso single origin bean will change every 2-3 days- so we can have a lot of option to try for different visit.

FANTASTIC HIDDEN GEM OF KL/SELANGOR I had one of the best flavoured coffee I have ever tasted. I ordered the cappucino made from a specialty Columbian coffee blend. The coffee was rich, full–bodied, fruity, creamy & smooth. It had just the right bitterness with no acidic aftertaste. This is definitely a must try for serious coffee lovers. ... you would've guessed it, the owner/barista is a coffee connoiseur. A very passionate food/beverage person who keeps a special standard. The hazelnut cake was a decadent delectable offering. A 4 5 layered cake, i.e hazelnut sponge, praline, hazelnut mousse, etc. I loved that it had just the right amount of sweetness & not an overpowering diabetic dose. A very special place. Reasonably priced.

One of, if not the best place for a great cup of coffee in the area or even around KL. The owner is ultra passionate with his coffee and uses only specialty coffee beans that he rotates every few days. We have been visiting Code: Black Espresso for a number of years everytime we are back in Malaysia with the cafe now moving to its new better location (bigger n nicer cafe) post pandemic. Definitely worth a visit as the coffee quality is top notch and the service is also amazing.

Default of trying new cafes is to order a shot of ristretto. Ristretto is usually an off menu item that can be asked from cafés serving espresso. This cafe pulls decent cup of ristretto. Worth returning for other drinks too.

It's been a while since I last wrote any review here. One word to describe this place: MANTAP. Ordered Ice Americano; great taste, Almond Croissant: classy, and Big Breakfast: delicious. A must to come perhaps whenever you are at Selayang area.

Come as a stranger, leave as buddies. Great service and foods combined. Mr Taufiq takes time to explain which beans suits your taste. But I'll love the suprise blend when I let him grow crazy with my latte. Pizza only available on weekend. Sourdough base with selection of homemade tomato sauce or pesto. Do call ahead since its limited.

This café offers a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. The owner is incredibly friendly, sharing not just coffee expertise but also a complimentary cake for my son's birthday. We had a delightful chat before leaving. We'll definitely be returning for their excellent coffee and pastries.

Came here on the weekend. Unfortunately they sold out a majority of their baked goods by then so we got a slice of pecan pie and a giant creampuff. Tried the latte and green tea frappe as well. Both drinks and food was really good! We could choose which beans we wanted for the coffee and the green tea frappe uses matcha so it has a great flavour. Barista was really friendly and knowledgeable on types of beans and roasts and helped me pick out what blends would work for people who is sensitive to caffeine. Overall a great experience, would visit again if i come by the area

Unexpected found this coffee place for the coffee hunting. Served a very nice specialty coffee from Ethiopia bean. You'll definitely be able to taste the taste note as per describe by the friendly owner. As for the croissant, one of the best you can taste here.don't worry the ingredient is halal.definitely worth to come.😁.

Honestly one of the best cafe in selangor. Chill vibes all around. Coffee is damn great, boss said that the beans varied from week to week. The day I came in the beans have that fruity and more acidic tone and flavour profile. To my surprise the taste is not only significant in the black coffee but also in latte, you can taste the fruitiness. All speacialty which is great. The pastries tho....damn near perfection, probably the best croissaint I've ever had in my lifetime. Owner is super friendly, and give good advices, great guy tbh, good conversation. Price is reasonable for the quality. Must try cafe if you're in Selayang.

Best coffee place around Selayang, Batu Caves and some say Kepong! The proprietors are very friendly, they cycle through a variety of beans so you can sample different coffee flavours every few days. Same thing with pastries, they cycle through different things not just baking the same stuff over and over, I am particularly fond of the kouign-amman which isn't something that's very commonly found in KL. Proprietor and staff are friendly and they'll have a chat with you if you want or leave you alone if you just want a quiet time. Oh and they make a proper chai latte, many places skimp on the spices and just overload on the sweetness so much so that I gave up on ordering it. Tried it here on a whim one night when I felt like it was too late for a coffee and I liked it. Prices are competitive with fancy cafes around KL and PJ.

Great coffee and good cakes. A lil pricey but for what you're getting, pretty decent. Friendly staff as well. They may be moving a few doors away soon, so be sure to look a few doors over if this address is wrong.

Didn't know Selayang has this type of cafe which I always love to go. Nice ambience Where's quiet and relaxing. Coffee is nice but tiramisu was a lil bit sweet(personal preference). But the signboard was not easy to seen and I would said its quite hidden. I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends who stay nearby. Keep it up!

Great experience having a premium quality of coffee bean with tasty variety of cakes. Very nice place to lepak and have a good topic to discuss with your friends. Most the customers here are regular customer that love this coffee shop. Should try them!

The location is not obvious so look carefully if you finding this cafe. Nice ambiance as well, love the atmosphere with dim light that make the cafe stay low key. The coffee is nice but pretty pricey (for me). And their pastry is worth a try!
