My favourite coffee version 2.0 I'd once written about this neighbourhood cafe in DJ that offers affordable coffee starting from RM5 for a cup of black & RM8 for a cup of white. It is a gathering place for locals and nearby surrounding residents to sit and chat early in the morning. It is also my favourite hangout place after swimming session to get my caffeine fix. Matte Culture Cafe has since closed for a brief period as they were expanding. From about 1/4 of the shop, they now occupy half of the shop at the same location. The layout has also been changed, new pinewood furnitures are installed, plus they are now selling pastries such as currypuff and buns to go with your drinks. I'd tried their garlic cheese bun and curry puff and safe to say, both were good! The coffee quality remained consistent and most importantly, the price has been maintained without any increase. Same people, same location, same coffee.. but bigger & better!

Stumbled upon this new coffee to go place, nicely hidden away. But not hard to locate if you are in the area. Coffee is very good, just the right temperature, nicely frother milk and good caffeine kick! Very reasonably priced and super friendly barista. And parking is easy. Will definitely return!

This is a cozy small little coffee shop in the neighbourhood. It is a small setup with half a shoplot. But if you want a quick caffeine fix with nice sponge cake, this is the place to be. The coffee was good. Nothing fancy, just honest and practical coffee. And it is affordable too at RM5 for a long black.

Their latte is good and flavourful. Well extracted and not overly bitter. Most importantly they open at 7am, which is just nice for me as not many cafes can open at 7am and i need my morning fix before I head to work. Two thumbs up!

Nice coffee with affordable price! Open 7days a week from 7am-7pm. There's this small challenge to locate the shop, just look out for the 4D Kuda, the shop just beside it.

Type: Coffee. Takeaway (request for cup if dine-in) Great coffee at super reasonable price. RM3 espresso. RM7 for latte. RM5 for Americano. And it’s good quality coffee; so, totally a thumbs up for this place. Love the little creative things in here and the simplicity where it’s just coffee and just a few seats. What’s great in the morning is the lady selling Nyonya Kuih and MeeHoon just at the entrance. Aunty accepts TnG so it’s great for e-wallet users! A plus for Matte Culture is that the owners allow customers to makan the Nyonya Kuih in their shop! If I’m in the area, I will surely recommend this place. Opens early and can pre-order for kerbside pick up.

Hidden lot. Minimalist design. More of a coffee/tea to go. It was a hot sunny day when I step into this shop. Thirst quenching ice cappuccino is great for such time. πŸ‘

Firstly, I must confess I'm not a coffee person. That means that I don't drink coffee on a regular basis and you cannot trust my opinion on the quality of coffee. I happened to walk into Matte Culture because I wanted a place to chat with a friend and we had just balked at the coffee prices at Sudo Brew just a stone's throw away. Not trying to throw shade at Sudo but not a coffee person, remember? The place is tiny with just half a dozen tables and it's solely manned by the barista himself. Prices are unbelievably low for PJ. Expresso and tea for only RM5? Unheard of, right? Even if you have money to splurge, the most expensive items on the menu are only RM10. I may not be a good judge of coffee but the constant stream of customers on a weekday afternoon should tell you something about the place.

This is one of my go to for super affordable coffee with two friendly baristas. The neighbourhood vibe is super awesome as the uncles and aunties hangout while eating nasi lemak and kuih from the lady that sell in front of the store in the early morning. Great for pit stop.

Been coming here since they just opened. Coffee is great, reasonable pricing, and owners are nice. Glad to see the place booming (though I miss the tranquility in the earlier quieter days 😊, but a growing crowd means well for the place!) My favorite: Iced white (it's so good!)

Nice and humble joint, serving delicious coffee at very affordable pricing. The black is RM 5 while the milk options are RM 8. When it comes to taste, I must say it is one of the better ones in the neighborhood. The shop isn't too large, but will be suitable for smaller groups. Take away is good as well.

Latte is great. Sponge cake is good. Coffee is cheap, which makes it so worth it. Baristas are so friendly and always welcoming with a smile Seats can be uncomfortable against the wall. The normal chairs are fine. Place is bright with normal daylight. However, deeper inside the cafe has less daylight, but still bright.

Been here couple of times & for the price you pay , they serve excellent coffee and pastries. It justifies the early morning crowd

Was craving for a good iced mocha and decided to try out here since it’s nearby my house. At first, I was kinda lost since the place is actually located more front (beside the Tukang Jahit Damansara Fashion House) than the actual pinned in google map. Anyhow, the cafe itself has a homey feeling and I had one of the best mocha. Will come back to try other drinks soon.

Had the coffee latte with hazelnut. It was great! The hazel nut went well with the coffee. Only for RM10. Nice place to have drinks with friends.

So happy that they accept byo coffee cup! So far the most affordable coffee I found in PJ. Ice double shot latte for RM9 and you can get expresso at only rm3! Easy parking during Sunday morning. The parking might become challenge during weekday as the parking is usually full here. Service : friendly batista & rocket speed in making coffee πŸš€ Will definitely come back for their coffee

I'm a coffee person who loves discovering nice coffee-drinking places in KL. This is one of the top in my list, for its very affordable price as well as for the exceptional quality. I'd always go for their Piccolo latte (RM8) for its richness and coffee aroma.
