I'm giving it 2 stars because it's at least clean. Wasn't offered breakfast upon arrival. Bar area is just a fridge with some drink in it, the restaurant appears to have less appeal than the school canteen and while the staff are helpful, when I first arrived it felt like I'd arrived at Faulty Towers as I had to repeat myself several times. After 11pm it's impossible to get even a bottle of water as the vending machine didn't work and the staff told me it was someone else's problem. Would struggle to recommend this hotel over the local independent places around.

Paid £58 for a night which is reasonable. Hotel is located right across from the station. No parking on site which is not great and the staff were dilly dallying about when we was in a rush to get into our room to get ready for a wedding. Keys didn’t work either at first so slowed us down as we had to get them sorted twice. Get what you pay for.

Hair dryer didn't work - took about an hour of begging to get it replaced. The free WiFi is useless. The staff love to stare at people. Something very wrong with some of them. No peace. Tried to close the curtains and the blinds fell out crashing down. Couldn't get to sleep till the early hours of the morning as the person in the room above was 'walking around in circles' until about 4am. Ever heard of sound proofing? Didnt make breakfast as I was so tired. Worst nights sleep in my life. Told off for making a cup of coffee. Told off for having a cigarette outside by the foyer. Tried to get Internet in the morning to set up my new business sim card. The free 'wifi' wouldn't load. Staff refused to open a personal hotspot. Needed about 10 seconds of actual Internet to get it working but that was too much to ask apparantly. Biggest regret of my life staying here. Better off falling asleep in a McDonald's.

Good location, 10 minutes walk to high Street, nice clean new hotel, parking is over the road and is £8 a day,I do prefer parking right outside hotels but you can't always have it. Breakfast is good didn't have an evening meal

Staff are nice but there is no housekeeping service at all. Rooms are dated and need some maintenance at least the room where I was in. Bed is very confortable however considering product vs cost this hotel for me its not worth that price.

Awful experience. Power outage for over 7 hours. No electricity/lighting or water in the bedrooms. The emergency lighting in the stairwell failed so carried luggage down 6 flights of stairs without being able to see. A member of our party with mobility issues had to do the same. No phones in rooms and no staff member communicated what was going on until we asked at reception. When I complained and asked for bottled water I was told I could only take a glass of water. I was treated very badly and the issues I was raising were being met with basically an eye roll. There was no duty of care. Eventually they cottoned on and got some bottled water to hand out! But still didn’t help anyone with physical disabilities. Staff totally out of their depth. The facilities/staff training are woefully inadequate even though we were told this is 3rd time it’s happened this year!!

Perfect location for our purposes. Staff were beyond great, room was clean and exactly whatcl you expect from a Premier Inn. Evening meal wasn't brilliant quality but that was down to ingredients rather than the kitchen.

Nothing Premier about this Inn. Arrived at 2pm on 25 November 2023, no-one in Reception, looked around empty ground floor to speak to someone, finally spoke to someone coming out of kitchen at rear of Thyme area. She said we could book in early at surcharge of 10.00. Would like to give no stars at all Went back at 3pm, the person in reception said 'system' not working properly, but insisted that the charge was 108.00 not the 88.00 I booked at. There was some argument and I said I was cancelling my booking, was told I could not as would have to pay 108.00 because cancelling after 1pm. My husband lost patience and we left, to go on a 2 hour journey back home. The Thyme area was cold, empty and looked completely self service. We have stayed at Portsmouth, Chichester Gate, County Hall London, and Hilden Manor. No pronlems with any of those bookings, and all with parking on site.

May I just say of all hotels I have stayed in by far the is the best, my family and I have had to stay for a large period of time they have catered to our needs amazingly to sit and eat listening to other guests complain because there food took awhile I was shocked my family and I was ordered fed and happy in the space of a hour and it was amazing I have 2 very troublesome children but the staff love to get them involved and make them feel welcome. Completely unbeknown to the staff guest should be appalled talking about “ shagging” and things like that infront of a 2 year old and 4 year is disgusting

Normally great stay in Premier unfortunately not on this one, more based on the room location due to noise, otherwise amazing hotel really nice and thoughtful staff when I had to complain about are stay but they sorted everything out and was very apologetic would still recommend for those short trips

‘A room without a view’ unless your interested in building sites. Only this, the size of the room and no nearby parking lets it down. The bed was very comfortable, the staff were very polite and the breakfast was a great start to the day.

Very clean and comfortable bed. Opposite the train station so ideal for trips to London but I could not hear any trains so very quiet rooms. Would stay there again.

Ideal for what we wanted. The hotel is close to many National Trust properties that we wanted to visit and the train station just over the road with trains taking approximately 30 minutes to reach central London. The parking wasn't an issue really. A drop off point is located outside the door and the Bradbourne Car Park is only two minutes away. There was always plenty of space. I used the MiPermit app to pay. The car park has no barriers so a day ticket can be used for multiple entrances and exits if required. Parking is free overnight and the app allows you to pay for parking in advance. The car park's code is 743508. All day parking was £8 and £5 at weekends. Lidl is conveniently close for snacks and drinks. Rooms were clean and staff attentive. No bar means only bottled drinks were available to drink in the restaurant area. I did find mobile phone signal (O2) and DAB radio reception to be poor but free WiFi in the hotel is sufficient for most needs.

The hotel is generally a very nice modern, comfortable hotel with basic facilities. The let down is the lack of on-site parking. Few spaces available for disabled customers only and a drop off area. There is a local car park a few minutes away which is payable. The hotel is very close to station and not too far away from the town centre via a car and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Service was good and staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and modern. Bed very comfortable.

Just wanted to comment on the two young boys who were working Saturday night , they were so friendly and made my friends and I feel very welcome. I think one of the boys name was John, either way both boys were great and the reception area was pretty busy. Thank you again.

The hotel was the same as any other Premier Inn, no change there. Location: very useful for local traveler’s, close to network rail, off site parking £8 for 24 hours across the street. I was unable to book on their website, something they are aware of but haven’t actioned, unable to book on the app also. Had to book by going into a local hotel and booking via their internal system. Unsatisfactory! Food was good quality but starters and main arrived at the same time, food generally not as described on the menu. Staff untrained and or requiring improvement. Can’t recommend.

Back after several months. Staff very nice, room clean. Hacked the parking so not stressed about that this time. Unfortunatly, evening meal was an issue again-I wish they put an info on hotel site or at least inform guests on checking in- short staffed and it took 65 min for my dinner to be ready !

A budget hotel and one I would only stay at if absolutely necessary. It was a busy check in and the poor woman was on her own. Her colleague “Shek” wasn’t helping. She had to call him out to help when we asked for water and he came out with a kitchen measuring jug filled with water… you have to laugh. He should have been out on the desk with her helping out. She was very busy and we felt bad for her. The worst part of the stay was when we went to our room to find it absolutely stunk of smoke. Someone had clearly been smoking in the room before us. The room should have been closed off. We were told it wasn’t on the handover. They said they were fully booked so had to use the room. Luckily the lady on the front desk was very helpful and gave us a new room. If we hadn’t been able to get another room I would have driven home. It was awful. They need to improve the smoke detectors within the room as they said it happens regularly. They had a very small air purifier in the room as seen in the photo but it wasn’t doing very much. The new room was clean enough. The bed was large but pretty hard. Same with the pillows, pretty stiff. The bathroom was big but the tap was faulty and sprayed water over the sink. The towels had a couple of stains on. The breakfast was the typical cooked breakfast in a budget hotel. However, it was busy and they were struggling. They ran out of numerous hot foods and we had to wait whilst they cooked some more. We left the sausages as they came out looking a little undercooked. The scrambled egg had been cooked within an inch of its life.

Clean facility, nice, polite staff, comfy beds, good breakfast choices, is centrally located to all area attractions, and is also conveniently accessible by train to London. A preferred choice hotel option! Thank you for a great stay in your area!

Not enough storage for clothes, we had a young girl cleaner unfortunately she was not conscientious as the mature lady, no dusting done or shower screen cleaned.

The new automed check in is a bit impersonal considering we arrived during the day, and it had issues requiring staff to sort out. The room was nice, the bed comfortable and the shower hot. Breakfast was good, worth the price given the selection, and it being unlimited. There was an issue with the fire alarm going off on our morning of departure. There was no real communication as to whether it was a test, false alarm or a real fire. We evacuated but by then it was fixed and we could return to our room.

The rooms are lovely and the breakfasts have been very nice. It's a shame the only parking is a short walk away in a multi-storey and has to be paid for. Also the free wifi is slower than dial-up. But it's a greatest location, straight across from the railway station.

Good location, train station and car park nearby. Rooms clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly. Restaurant…….. food was not as advertised…… I was asked to pay for my meal in advance. No problem. After my meal I got up and left only to my followed by a staff member to ask me when I got the the lift if I have paid! Very unorganised. Unorganised does not work for me.

Overall the hotel was just like any other standard Premier Inn. The rooms were clean, and well presented. The only issues I had were the staff at the "counter" which was pretty much non existent during breakfast hours and mid afternoon and the lack of parking. I had issues trying to get hold of anyone on the phone as I needed to find out about parking. People working there are a little rude. For example, I needed to delay my check out by a few hours, I was told this was impossible and needed to leave. I explained the situation about being unable to, I was told to book another day. I asked if the person can do this over the counter, she told me no to do it myself because she was too busy and they were understaffed. I booked myself another day and checked myself in as there was no one at reception, a few hours later I get a violent knocking on my door. As I opened the door, the lady very loudly asked why I haven't checked out yet - I explained I extended my stay by a day and its been paid, she told me she wasn't told, said sorry and walked off. There was an incident with the fire alarms, they kept going off, and no one would tell us anything. I stood by my door, and someone ran past. I asked them what to do they shrugged and ran off. Overall, the room itself and the hotel was as you'd expect, but the service you got was awful.

Worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel, was woken up at 4am by the fire alarms, the staff admitted this happens all the time and is due to the steam from someone having a shower. Here’s an idea, move the sensor away from the shower door. Then after this house keeping were banging on everyone’s doors at 10am when checkout isn’t until 12. So have barley slept a wink, avoid this hotel as you won’t sleep and will be like a zombie the next day.

Very well decorated and comfortable room. Nice, helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend it. The only downside is that there is no parking on site and the nearby parking is not subsidised.
