When the English summer weather finally gets to that point where people are saying “it’s too hot!” you have to react accordingly. By visiting The White Hart you have made an excellent choice. If you want to really cool down then sit inside and admire the dark, dank corners of this historic pub. If you want to embrace the sunshine in a pretty setting, sit out front. If you want to be social, absorb some rays and contemplate a bite to eat there is a abundant back yard. I sat in the veranda area, absorbed not only sunshine, but the historic details of the pub and area from the array of exhibits that spread across its walls. The food is sensational for a pub, up there with some of the best, presented with care and packed full of flavour. The whole experience reminded me somewhat of The Horseshoes pub over in East Farleigh. Service was down to earth and chatty, albeit a little overstretched given the mass of customers (given the fine day we had). A great place, which has a fine selection of ales to boot.

Some pubs are great... The White Hart is perfect. Their staff are exceptional, hardworking, polite and attentive. We booked a table for my birthday, that's February 12th in case you want to know, and had never been here. Hospitality is my profession, outside acting, and you can trust me when I say the food was perfect. When you can dish out that amount of Sunday lunches and still be 100%, then you are doing something right. The chap that looked after us, sorry... I can't remember your name, was lovely and professional. I wish the pub continued luck. Demetri Turin

The food is absolutely AMAZING, this is now one of my favourite restaurants. Staff was very friendly and approachable, the wait for the food is not long. The atmosphere is very relaxed, cosy and vibrant. I am writing this review in the car on the way back from the White Hart and I already cannot wait to be back 😃

Service is absolutely impeccable. They were attentive yet not intrusive. However the only gripe is since of late the food has gone a bit downhill. Had the burger which was rather dry. Ball and chain had fish and chips...she claims it was excellent. Oh as always the atmosphere is brilliant

It was my first visit to The White Hart after a day out to Knole Park. It is a lovely pub with a very large garden. The service was very good being an early Saturday evening. The food was excellent; I had the Mushroom bourguignon pie with olive oil mash, red wine gravy and sautéed greens.

What a delightful pub and restaurant. Sitting atop a hill overlooking Sevenoaks and the North downs, the beer garden on a sunny afternoon is an absolute must! Great selection of beers is on offer. The staff are really friendly and it's not too pricey either. Saving the best for last, the food is absolutely delicious. I had a chicken and leek pie which was a whole individual pie, great pastry and the sauce was unreal. The fish and chips looked really good too.

Lovely pub, friendly staff, and tasty grub, especially as you can earn your food by doing the popular red/black/blue circular walking routes around the nearby Knole Park (also with a look around the lovely National Trust house if you are members) surrounded by beautiful grounds and free roaming Deer. We really love these sorts of pubs that you can build your walks and days out at National Trust buildings, as we like to support out National treasures and also the local businesses and pubs too. The food was fantastic as were the puddings, so we will come back again and again. My wife is still cautious about eating indoors, so they have a fantastic setup for outdoors eating with a waterproof cover and heaters above which have control for the customers to turn on or off according to preference. Staff were friendly and seemed very happy with working there and made you feel they enjoyed chatting to clients without pressure which I really like to see. We took some friends who had never been to that part of the world and they were very impressed considering they usually don't do pub grub. They also gave out some loyalty vouchers to collect for payment towards a future meal there. Car park can get busy, so drive past that and there are some free parking streets nearby with a hundred metres. Very classy place, so get your rambling boots on and do the walk before you BULK up on the food!

The staff are very friendly and professional it’s a relaxed atmosphere I love the fact the food is all fresh not bought in pre made or frozen. The place is very well run and the head chef is extremely experienced and runs a fantastic kitchen with interesting menu items with great flavours. There is a large garden with plenty of seating, a bar and a conservatory area you can dine in as well as a large car park and a children’s play area. The food is very good all round and so is the service - definitely give it a try.

One of my favourite pubs in Kent. I travel up to 45 minutes out of my way to stop for a meal. The food is always excellent, especially for such a price point and the selection of beverages very large and of great quality. Special mention to the rotating selection of local beers & ales, always a new gem to discover at each visit. The staff is very professional and kind, and have always me feel welcomed and wanting to return back. The pub is fully dog friendly and 4-legged friends will be looked after equally as attentively as hooman patrons, and may even get their drink first with free nibbles 🦴

Staff always courteous and happy .I like the cosy atmosphere in an old but warm pub setting ,different seating areas which include a glass roof seating area and patio /garden spaces .

Booked dinner on Friday night for 5 of us. Had another friend turn up just after our Starters and the waiter was very accommodating and managed to add on a main meal to our order no hassle at all. The staff were really helpful and by the end of the evening we were the only people in the Pub but we didn’t feel rushed to leave. The food was really well presented and all our meals were great. Highly recommend.

Went on a Sunday and had the mixed roast. Food was delicious and good portion. Prompt service as well, even though ate outside so could easily have been forgotten. Will definitely be returning

This is the BEST pub I have been to in 40 years! Went the day after Boxing Day this year, with my elderly parents my sister, her three kids, her husband, his elderly mother and two dogs. From the moment you walk in you are greeted warmly and automatically feel welcomed and I don’t mean this faux American bu//sh*t that we seem to have turned into (nothing against America but we are British). I was having a grumpy day and so was on the verge of being prickly. But the way the staff were so accommodating and made everything seem no trouble at all actually made me chill out. It was weird. I think I am so used to there being some type of confrontation or having to put up with the attitude that they are doing you are favour with everything in this country that this place literally transported me back to how it was back when I was growing up. Even the other customers were really nice. When you walk in a room with two dogs you don’t always expect smiles and conversations! I haven’t even mentioned how good the food is or the size of the portions, how they are good with kids etc.etc. And the girls serving us were not much older than 18. I could literally go on and on. Just go! That’s unless I hadn’t been transported to another time and place that day because I have not had that level of hospitality in a long time. Best pub in Britain for me and I’m from Manchester!!

Having driven past a million times and never been in we decided on a whim to try Dinner at The White Hart last night. After hearing good things from friends we had high expectations, we were not disappointed. We hadn’t booked and the car park was busy so we’d prepared for maybe not being lucky. As soon as we reached the bar, despite being in the middle of something, Tom greeted us warmly, he searched for the possibility of a table ( they were very busy) and offered us a drink. Within 10 minutes we were sat at a table. Food was probably the best pub food we’ve had, the steak mushroom and ale pie was piping hot, veg cooked to perfection, scallops starter was delicious! So was the venison suet pudding… can’t fault anything. Staff all very attentive and know what they are doing, We will definitely be back.

Sunday lunch with the family at the White Hart was spot on. Good friendly informed staff. Quick service and a roast nearly as good as home cooked and way better than a normal pub Sunday roast. Good parking space, garden and children's play area. This is a busy pub and booking is essential. Looking forward to going again.

I have been here several times over the years and it is always a friendly environment with great food and drink. It's lovely inside and is perfect, if like me, you enjoy visiting Knole Park which is just down the road. I'd always recommend booking a table in advance especially at weekends for food as it's very popular. The roast I had recently was great and was a decent portion compared to other establishments. The parking is generally plentiful but can get busy at times. Well worth a visit.

We had an unplanned visit (A21 was closed) and spent a delightful 3hrs here, what a blessing! It was our Labrador's 12th birthday and all the staff, especially Hannah, made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious, the service was perfect and we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Thank You!

Called here on the off chance with friends after a day out as the menu looked to offer something a bit different, as well as standard pub restaurant fare. We were met by a very friendly waitress and opted to sit outside on the nice terrace. Service was efficient and friendly. Great food, the crispy chilli beef salad and milanese chicken with citrus salad and whipped goats curd were highlights. Our friend needs gluten free and was very well catered for as most dishes could be offered gluten free. The desserts were good value as well.

Quite a good pub and the people there are nice. Service is good and I like the open nature, would be good for children and dogs. Good range and selection of food and is in a scenic area, would recommend because of: location, service and kid-friendliness

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at this pub. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating to us - we had requested a table in a ventilated area due to a member of our party being pregnant and wanting to avoid covid. They provided this and were also apologetic when another customer were rude to us for wanting to keep the windows open. They were also very attentive throughout and kept us updated when the food took a little longer than expected, although we didn’t mind! Food was delicious too. I would love to come back here if I’m in the area again.

Had a meal here with family last Sunday for my Mum's Birthday. They were very friendly, and accommodating even though I was late, and everyone was happy with their meals. My lamb roast was absolutely delish. The pub is gorgeous and well maintained. Was a lovely evening 🙂

A group of friends and I visited last Tuesday. The meals were fantastic, they even had a gluten free menu. I am trying to lose weight and they prepared a meal for me that wasn't on the menu. Our server was polite and helpful, I would definitely say he went the extra mile. All in all, would I recommend them? Yes 100% xx

Beautiful food and great service. Lovely atmosphere and a fantastic play area for children. I didn't give 5 stars because there were wasps everywhere and no blue zappers or anything else to kill or trap them. We spent our meal being wasp ninjas!

We have been before on a few occasions, the latest was a bit last minute to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I booked the table via the website which was quick and easy. As always there is a friendly greeting when you arrive and we were shown to our table and within seconds a bottle of water was on the table along with the menus. We had a lovely evening, the service was first class and the food fantastic and the portion size was spot on for us.

The food was delicious and good sized portions. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The White Hart appears to be very popular. We made a noon booking for Sunday and on arrival there were plenty of parking spaces. On leaving at about 14:00 customers were waiting for a vacant parking place.

Fantastic menu, so much choice. I finally chose the homemade quiche, belive me I could have ordered every single thing of the menu. It was lovely, definitely homemade, lots of filling, crisp thin pastry, gorgeous. Service was excellent, pricing I would say reasonable for premium food. I would recommend a visit just to try the quiche.

I've been to this pub multiple times before. It is a high-end pub as part of a chain, and I'm always impressed when I got to this pub or a sister pub. Prices are naturally slightly higher than a grubbier pub, but the restaurant is clean and tidy and feels very comfortable. Food is lovely and staff are friendly.

We stopped here as a couple for Sunday lunch after a walk around the grounds of Knowle Park. The pub was busy but not over crowded or manic. All the staff we encountered were absolutely charming and attentive. Our meals were delicious and as a gluten free diner I was really well catered for. The sticky toffee pudding was particularly yummy! We will definitely return. If only all pubs were this great.
