Place is well preserved. Apparently it is the biggest bull fighting arena in Spain still being used. The season last from April till October. Tickets for the “show” range from 30 to 130 euros, depending on the seat and the toreador (more famous means higher price). Tours are guided. One may learn a lot. But of course for animal loving people like us it was - mildly put - strange experience.

Well, you have to understand the culture and history. The debate of bullfighting is apart from visiting this historic place. It is very well kept and has some interesting historical points about bullfighting. Good to see the building at least. Please like my reviews.Appreciate a like to this review..thank you.

Really cool experience to be able to walk through the entire area and then sit in the seating area. First time experiencing this and really enjoyed it. It was 10 euro a person to spend as much time as you wanted walking through. A lot of history in the museum areas in side and I am really happy we checked it out.

Great experience walking into the bullring. It wasn't crowded at all and you can do it at your own pace. There is a qr code that links you to the audioguide. Definitely recommended if you have some time in Seville.

Bull ring in the centre of Seville, had never visited one before, so did not know what to expect. A very interesting visit, the place is full of the history of bull fighting ( building started n the 1300's I think). Some of the paintings are very graphic, so would not recommend for children. I would never contemplate watching a bull fight, but the history and culture is quite amazing.

I am only giving this 2 Stars but just could’ve easily been a five-star experience. Tours are only given on audio device. They should’ve had a introductory video/movie on the life of a bullfighter and the bull. Having done this it would’ve helped you understand the audio tour guide in each room they took you to and the outside Colosseum where the bullfights take place. So much possibilities, everyone on the tour was disappointed.

It is definitely worth visiting. The exhibition showing history of the arena and bull fighting is very interesting. Standing in the centre of the sand arena sends shivers to the body. It is just wow feeling. The entrance fee is just 10 Euro, a few minutes waiting in a queue to get inside. You would regret to be in Seville and not seeing this place.

One the best highlights of my entire trip to Spain. The tour offers a lot of history about the bullfighting. They have old event posters and costumes from the matadors. You get to take a full tour of the arena including the event ring. Wonderful experience!

I was a bit disappointed by the museum. The exhibition is not or barely translated to English and is quick to get through. Still some amazing outfits, bulls, and piece of art. After that, you can freely walk around the arena. The feeling is great. Especially in the morning with few people.

10 euros to enter which I think is quite a lot as there isn't much inside, although they have trued to make a bit of an exhibition. There is an audiophile available by scanning a QR code and listening to sections on Dropbox. I'm glad I did this as I'm not sure I would have got as much from the experience otherwise as all the signage is in Spanish.

The biggest bull fight arena in Spain, which it was nice to visit, but disappointed that all the information it was in Spanish. There was an audio that I could have had, but when you don't want to hear about every small detail, it doesn't seem to be time effective. I spent around 30 minutes overall and that it was the museum and arena. You get to see a lot of photos of padt bull fighters, their clothes, and all about the history of the bull fight.. There's stables at the back and a small chapel before you get in the arena. I visited the museum late in the afternoon, which it wasn't very busy.

We loved the “corridas” , the ambiance, the spectacle, the sevillan people, and in short everything specially the corridas with the “rejoneadores “. We liked very much Marvelous. We enjoyed in Sevilla more than the Arena in Madrid.

Incredible experience! Learning about and seeing the plaza de toros, which is a huge part of Spain's culture and history, was enjoyable. We visited early in the afternoon on a Tuesday, and it wasn't crowded, so we were able to take lots of pictures.

Cool short experience in Seville. Visit lasted about 30 minutes as there wasn't a lot to see at the museum. However, the best part was inside the bull ring, where you could walk around and sit at the audience's benches.

Unfortunately there is no bullfighting, no tour guide, but this is a must go in Seville. There is audio guidance of this interesting place and I was super engaged in that, very helpful! It is not a big museum and doesn't take too long to explore. However, do bring your imagination and curiosity during your visit, you might find it different from what other people see!

Wr spent about an hour at The Seville bullring, officially known as Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, has a 12,000-seat capacity, making it the largest and most significant bullfighting arena in Spain. Within the plaza, we explored the 'Museum of Bullfighting,' featuring a hall adorned with many paintings depicting bullfighters and the dramatic art of bullfighting. The museum also showcases a diverse collection of objects that narrate the history and evolution of bullfighting and toreros in Spain. The exquisite bullfighters' costumes, capes, and posters were a highlight. Admission is priced at 10€, with a reduced rate of 6€ for individuals over 65. "He who Seville has not seen, Has not seen a marvel great." "To whom God loves He gives a house in Seville." Popular Spanish Sayings.

Although strongly disagreeing with the concept of bull fighting this is part of Spain's history and the Seville bullring is one of the top ones in Spain - if not the top one - and can seat 12,500 people. The entrance fee of 8 euros includes a guided tour and it cant be booked ahead so the best advice is to arrive around 1-2 when most people are at lunch. There is a very good museum with pictures, posters and matador clothes etc and the chapel where the matadors pray before a fight is lovely. The arena itself is spectacular in the sunshine and seems very tranquil considering what it must be like during a bullfight.

The bullring of the Real Maestranza de Caballería in Seville is the oldest bullring in Spain. It is the venue for the bullfights that take place during the April Fair, one of the most famous bullfighting celebrations in the world. It is considered one of the most popular tourist attractions and is among the most visited monuments in the city. As a square it is one of the most complicated in the world due to its layout and characteristics, as well as its public, which is said to be one of the hardest and most difficult among the bullfighting fans

Having lived in Spain I always wanted to go to a bull ring but never wanted to see the bull slaughtered at the end. This was the perfect way to do it. A small yet interesting museum plus entry into the actual arena itself - all for only €10, or €8 if you've been on the red sightseeing bus tour.

A ‘must visit’ whilst in Seville even if no interest or abhorrent to bull fighting as it is part of Spanish history. The oldest bullring in Spain 🇪🇸, a magical structure. Goya paintings on display (lost his close friend in a bull fight) . Very interesting.

It’s interesting. This bullring is still up and running, I think they use this arena more for concerts??? It’s really cheap to tour the place you can spend a couple of hours in their. They provide many articles old pictures of t past. It wasn’t busy when we were there. You can buy your tickets online.

Pretty big and very nice to see. There is much to see with different paintings, clothing and stuffed bulls and bulls heads. All in all it gives a nice overview and impression of the history and sphere of the bull fights. Entrance is only €10 and there are several signs with QR codes that you can scan to access online audio fragments for an Audio guide.

Plaza de toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla is a bullring with 12,000 seats. During the annual Seville Fair, the arena is home to one of the most famous bullfighting festivals in the world. Unfortunately, my wife and I didn't get tickets, so we watched part of the bullfights, which were also filmed on TV outside the arena. The world famous Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza also participated that day.

Very interesting place from a historical and cultural perspective. Bull fighting is brutal, but it was interesting to hear how they revere the bulls they fight and the ritual like culture around it. Cool spot, I recommend visiting.

I would say do definitely visit this if in Seville, even if there is no bull fighting going on. The museum is super interesting, with a good historical description about the sport. Audio guided are available in 5 languages. Tickets for general admission is €10

Saw Spanish and Seville tradition and culture here. No fights on only here for the tour. Enjoyed the visit and a small insight to this 'sport'. Not my thing at all but the venue and the museum I did enjoy. You can't come to Seville and not see this. There was a large line at the event booking office so it is still enjoyed in Seville.

Plaza de toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla Very interesting the tour and the story behind the fighters. With what passion and tradition they devote themselves. We recommend everyone to book this tour or let me say guided tour and be amazed. Even people who find bullfighting repulsive will still be a little impressed. To the Spain visit: We visited this area in February and got to know a completely different side of Spain through Seville and its surroundings. Seville, Cordoba, Cadiz, Ronda... it is simply everywhere very beautiful and versatile. But you should come here during the cooler season. Now in July it is very, very warm. February was ideal for excursions.

The Madison Square Garden of bullfighting. Interesting to compare with the bullring in Ronda. Sevilla focuses on the journey the bullfighters take on the day of the bullfight, as well as capturing the feel of the fight environment and crowd in paintings and relics. Ronda focuses on the historical origin of bullfighting from calvary training, with more emphasis on the spaces the horses and bulls occupy. I have a slight preference for Ronda (specifically the museum), but both places are fantastic.

One of the oldest bull fight rings in Spain and the world. The tour was short and informative. The guide who speaks in both English and Spanish takes you through the rooms full of memorabilias, from Francisco de Goya's paintings to old clippings. The final leg of the tour brings you to the ring, which up to this day is still being used during the bull fight season.

  • 5/5 Stephanie S. 4 years ago on Google
Beautiful and well kept bull ring. It is just sad what happens inside where 6 bulls get killed in each match, after a gruesome torture where their bodies are attacked with hooked knifes and swords. They were also made agitated and anxious for days prior to the match to make them more nervous during the day of the match. Animals are not meant to be treated this way, especially when they do not even have a fighting chance. A survey of young population in the country shows that most do not support bull fighting. Seems that most people who goes are tourists.

Really enjoyed our trip to the bull ring. I’d never go to actually watch one but was interested to see what it’s like. There’s a few rooms of exhibits (posters, bullfighters uniforms, stuffed bulls) and then you make your way to the ring. You can spend as much time there as you like and then make your way out past a small (but good) gift shop. We bought our tickets online to avoid having to queue.

Plaza de Toros is the main postcard of Real Maestranza. It's super interesting for its historical tradition. Although there are no more toradas (thank God), it still preserves the moments lived there well. Unmissable.

Worth a visit at €10 each even if, like us, you're appalled by bull fighting. Awe inspiring and atmospheric to be at the centre of the ring. The museum items are not that interesting to the general tourist but, again, interesting to see the uniforms and equipment up close.

Impressive bull ring and arena. I was surprised to find out that bulls are still killed for fun and actually it was in the full season for bull fighting shows. The museum it was basic but interesting. It costs €10 to get in and 30-40 min are more than enough to see everything

Culturally I can appreciate what the event has to offer! It was lovely to see large families gather with coolers and baskets to visit with each it there and take in the atmosphere. Personally, I had a difficult time with the process. Do read up on all that is involved with the fight itself. I was prepared for the gore and knew only one fight would be enough for me! A side note, although we did go as a tourist, please do your homework on Ring Etiquette. We sat in front of some VERY loud English speakers that got “looks”. Enjoy the energy of the arena and respect the culture of the event.

I'm not a fan at all of bullfighting hence going when there was nothing on just for the visit to walk around and to learn more about it. The queue was about 4-5 mins You can download an audio guide but if you cant do that then there is not much in any other language than Spanish. However when you go into the arena it's absolutely spectacular. It feels really old and what a gladiator arena must have been like in the day. Its worth the entry fee just to walk across the sand and gravel in the arena then sit on the stone seats looking into the arena and savour the atmosphere.

An interesting homage to Spain’s long-standing tradition of bullfighting. One can view paintings, the outfits of the matadors, and enjoy time in the ring itself. It is quite mesmerizing to stand at the center of the vast, uncrowded ring! Regardless of one’s opinion or interest about bullfighting itself, it is fun to spend up to an hour here.

Amazing cultural education of Andalucian bull fighting. Although we have great sympathy for the bulls outcome, it is the culture and beauty of the structures that drive our interest. Splendid arena, the tunnels for people and animals, historic paintings, splendid uniforms of all who took part, the very large arena has an aura you won't forget or match!

The most convenient entrance to the stadium is from C. Adriano St., 35 It took us a long time to figure out where to enter. Found in the first picture I uploaded here. The passage first goes through a museum of the "brave" matadors who mercilessly killed bulls here. The size of the place is huge and impressive, the feeling is not so much with all this sport which I'm glad doesn't exist anymore in Spain.

The arena itself is really beautiful and well preserved and takes you back in time. Tickets for the “show” range from 15 to 75 euros, depending on the seat and the matadors. There were 3 matador "performances," but after the first one, it's all the same, and of course, for people who love and care about animals, its kind of a strange experience.

It was an incredible experience to see the arena since Spain is famous with the Toro fights. There is a small museum and then you can go the the arena. I think the original price for the ticket is a bit high for what you can do when there is no shows to watch. We got ourself the students Tickets so the price was reasonable.

Honestly, I did not expect to walk out of the place mid event. I do appreciate the preservation of the old arena and the culture very much but the whole event ends up in the passing away of 3 bulls. Would not recommend this experience at all, you will leave feeling very uncomfortable.

Interesting museum, complete with stuffed bulls, matador costumes and paintings of the bullfight. I abhor the idea that this is sport but it was fascinating nonetheless.

I saw the bull fight during the abril fair ... It was a once in a lifetime experience... I would highly recommend it if the blood does not scare you.. Additionally do carry lots on sunscreen... A seat or a napkin to sit on..as the seats get very very hot under the sun... Also recommend taking cold water and sunglasses and Google and read the rules of a bull fight to understand Better.. All in all a good experience but also animal sacrifice for entertainment...

Interesting to visit and see. Well preserved and authentic. The entire visit took less than 1 hour. I would recommend stopping by for sure.

Friendly guy working here. We hired a sub, €20 for 2 hours. Fun activity in Sevilla to escape the heat for a bit. I would recommend paddling south to the old time. Because the other side is boring and ugly.

Not in season so didn’t see any fights. Unfortunately my phone was low on battery so I couldn’t listen to the audio tour but we enjoyed looking at what we could. We would have paid more to have a tour guide or an audio tour provided if that was an option. All in all we enjoyed looking at the bull ring and it’s history.

Checked off a bucket list item. This was a great experience. It's very well organized. The people are friendly and you can take as much time as you would like getting through it. They are very particular once you get out into the stadium seating, which I totally respect and understand.

A good place to visit, with a nice museum and arena. Ticket can be found online easy and i personally suggest to buy them before, so to avoid possibile queues inside (be careful, at the time of writing, it's mandatory to print tickets even if you buy them online).
