'My
very
good
friend
Margaret
Mc
Mahon
organises
a
monthly
trip
to
the
Omniplex
cinema
in
Shannon,
often
there
might
be
4/6
people
with
a
disability
to
1
carer
as
Mags
tries
to
foster
independence
where
possible
and
often
15
to
20
would
rock
up.
The
gang
go
to
Supermacs
Shannon
before
or
after.
Mags
has
been
doing
this
since
after
covid
and
Cinema
staff
have
been
great.
Always
charged
for
people
attending
and
carers
not
charged
since
the
beginning.
In
our
community
we
are
of
the
understanding
that
people
with
disabilities
face
barriers
to
access
therefore
require
support
to
access
events
and
often
can
only
attend
with
support.
And
what
20
something
wants
their
mother
to
go
to
cinema
with
them!!!
Last
week
all
carers
charged
and
when
challened
were
informed
Shannon
staff
made
a
mistake
all
along
by
letting
carers
go
free
on
weekend
they
should
only
have
been
free
Mon
to
Thurs.
Most
of
the
gang
are
in
adult
day
service
during
the
week
and
want
to
socialise
on
weekends
without
their
parents.
Don't
get
their
rationale
and
so
disappointed
in
2023
our
community
face
this
barrier.
Cinema
in
Ennis
ARC
are
so
very
accommodating
regardless
of
day
or
time
in
the
week
and
seem
to
grasp
the
Social
model
of
disability
on
the
other
hand
Omniplex
are
still
in
the
dark
ages.
Please
share
and
lets
see
if
they
reverse
their
outdated
policy
