This is my second time here and I waited to see if anything changed before writing a review, and it has not. Wait time is ridiculous. In a matter of 10 minutes I saw the eye chart person which took all of 3 minutes, (which was good, I thought I am off to a good start). Then I sat and waited as 3 people after me bypassed me. I waited 50 minutes before I was looked at again. Then waited 30 minutes for the doctor who took all of 5 minutes to examine me. NEVER AGAIN! "Do you think we have 1-1/2 hours to waste sitting around"??? Find somewhere else unless you like waiting around for more than an hour.

Very clean, up dated facility and technology. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Appointment was early but on time and took about 1 hour. The doctor was friendly, caring and took time to discuss and explain options. Masks were worn but that is understandable considering it is a health facility and covids not over. Two scans required payments but many are going that route as our health care system in general is struggling. I am glad to be able to have health care specialists even if it means waiting. Many places have none.

I had laser cataract surgery on both eyes recently. The procedure was relatively fast and went smoothly. I had very little pain and discomfort. It has been a about 2 months since I had my left eye done and about a month since I had my right eye done. My vision is now 20-20, I am 69, and have worn glasses since I was 14. It is incredible that I no longer require glasses for intermediate and long distance vision. I would definitely recommend Medical Eye Consultants to anyone requiring laser cataract surgery, they got my surgeries scheduled quickly and the whole process for both eyes was completed in less than 2 months.

I have had recent cataract surgery in both eyes, the second one having been completed in mid-September 2022. Despite existing eye conditions (Graves Thyroid Disease), the vision in both eyes has improved remarkably and continues to improve. My visits to Medical Eye Consultants were positive. Yes, it is true there is often a long wait period at the clinic before you are seen. But the wait is well worth it if you want excellent medical care. During my visits, staff were awesome and Dr. Salyani is clearly a very talented ophthalmology surgeon. It seems apparent that he has a busy, thriving practice. Such would not be the case if his patients did not have the utmost confidence in his abilities. I would recommend Dr. Salyani and Medical Eye Consultants without hesitation.

The entire staff are true, caring professionals. There was not a single moment that I felt anxious or nervous, thanks to these wonderful doctors and nurses, and now am able to see clearly for the first time in many years! Thanks to the staff of Medical Eye Consultants my musical career will also continue for many years.

This past year I had cataract surgery in both eyes. To say the least, I was very nervous about doing this. At each of my surgeries I was treated with kindness and concern from the staff and also my doctor, Dr. Salyani. Both of my procedures were quick and painless. Took my elderly dad here for cataract surgery. Appointments were booked quickly and staff were professional and courteous. All information was explained clearly. The surgery went very smooth and the results were outstanding. My dad has 20/20 vision and no longer needs his glasses. Thanks to the doctors and their team. My cataract surgery experience was 100% positive - the procedure itself was well explained beforehand, and seemed to be performed exactly as planned. Recovery was relatively straightforward, but the most important outcome was that, not only was the cloudiness in my vision completely eliminated, but my near-sightedness was fully corrected, so that my distance vision is now virtually perfect and after 45 years of having to wear glasses or contacts, I can now see without needing any corrective lenses. My accommodation range also seems improved, though it does help to wear mild reading glasses for small print.

I have recently had my first cataract surgery and am looking forward to my second one in the next few weeks. My experience at Medical Eye Consultants was absolutely five star( would have given more if possible). From the reception desk to the technicians, the surgical team and doctors I was treated to excellent service, attended to promptly and at no time rushed through when I had questions. My wife has recently done a Cataract Eye Surgery for both eyes with Dr. Kansal. The services provided by the staff and doctors; particularly Dr. Kansal was explicit. There have been no issues relating to the pre-surgery, surgery and post-surgery. Overall, the surgery was successful. The doctor gave us proper guidance for medications and next-steps to the surgery. Appointments were given right after each session with the doctor. The staff working are kind and welcoming, which reduced stress. I would have given 5 stars but on both days I had my surgery I waited for 2 hours before I was seen. My appointment for the 1st eye was at 11:40 and I wasn’t seen until after 1 pm. I attributed this to surgeries going longer than anticipated. However for the 2nd eye my appointment was 10 am and I still wasn’t seen until 12 pm. Keeping people waiting this long for eye surgery creates a great deal of anxiety. No wonder your blood pressure is high! I would say that the staff are all very friendly and efficient.

My cataract eye surgery has been like a miracle to me! I had cataracts removed on both eyes. I've worn glasses since I was 9 years old and now don't have to wear them. Dr. Salyani and his staff were wonderful throughout and provided such excellent care. I would recommend everyone to use Medical Eye Consultants.

I was referred to MEC a few years ago by my Costco Optometrist and was immediately impressed by the welcome I received, and especially with the number of electronic diagnostic equipment, and the number of Clinicians that perform the essential eye tests. The service I received was very satisfactory during all my visits. There were cataracts developing in both my eyes for the past year, however the left eye had deteriorated to the point it was like looking through clouds or fog. MEC offered 3 different Surgical Options, and I chose the ‘Freedom’ package at a cost of almost $4000. I am in my seventies and figured I am worth the cost. Recently, Dr. Vinay Kansal performed Cataract Surgery on my left eye. I was given a mild sedation prior to surgery which was very calming, considering it was my eye being operated on. From the Laser Machine that performed the first part of the surgery, to when Dr. Kansal completed the procedure, I felt calm, even relaxed and more fascinated than anxious. The procedure was relatively short and lasted about 25 minutes. During and after the procedure, I did not feel any discomfort, or pain, which was very welcomed. Soon after I was released, I could read the text on my cell phone and even small print that previously for the past 40+ years required glasses. Later I was even more pleased and amazed that my computer screen was crystal clear and even distance was quite clear – all with out glasses!!! I met with Dr. Kansal about a week post-surgery. I expressed how pleased I was to be seeing very well with out glasses and in addition to sincerely thanking him, I told him he was an Angel and gave him my blessings for all that he does to restore sight. I highly recommend Dr. Kansal and the Medical Eye Consultants in Newmarket.
