This is not your typical state park. Most sites are secluded. You won't see your neighbors if that's your hope. Check the map and choose the spot for you. We chose the cart-in site. It was work to get the gear to the site. The toilets were a walk, but we loved our location. It was so relaxing and we heard do many birds. My kid could play without worrying about cars.

Very nice park! Great trails, easy and hard. So quite there, no traffic sounds or loud people.

"no wifi (or cell coverage)". Lots of very experienced, savvy trout that have definitely seen a hook or two before. Secluded, grassy tent campsites. Well maintained camper sites. Gorgeous views and hikes along the ridges and Beaver Creek. Great day-use facilities.

This is a beautiful little natural park in the middle of AG country. The trails were amazing and the campsites are separated by trees and very private feeling. The road to the park is freshly paved and perfect for RVs. There are plenty of sites near the stream, and there are nice bathroom facilities along with vault toilets around the park.

One of my favorite state parks in MN! Truly a hidden gem in the SE corner of the state with beautiful geological features and great hiking trails. Be sure to check out big spring and if you’re brave jump in even though it’s freezing!

Beautiful peaceful state park on the smaller side. The creek is pleasant, with clear cool water. The bathrooms in the day use area were clean. The picnic area had a few fire rings with swinging grill grates on them. There was a lack of garbage disposal in the day use area so we packed in/packed out. Checked out the camping area and decided it's on our list of places to stay.

I'f you like fishing for trout then this state park is for you. Driving to you campsite tents only area you have to cross the creek a few times only state park that has this highly recommend trying this park. The hiking trails are awesome.

Decent hiking trails but early Spring meant they were ice covered = a bit treacherous. Shelter house was nice. Wasn't able to check out the campground because it was closed. I would wait until full thaw before tackling "switchback trail" again.

10/10 and definitely in my top five MN State Parks. Hiked the Beaver Creek Trail. Mostly flat going through beautiful forest and the stream was the clearest I've seen in my life. Lots of great birds, trout and deer.

This hike was a challenge for us. It has steep hills covered in snow on the edges of crazy beautiful bluffs. We saw two gropus of deer bounding ahead of us and some trout in the stream. We cut it short because it was getting dark. We will be back.

Great hiking. There is a flat trail with nice views of the creek that is easy enough for the whole family. If you're up for a challenge, there is a steep and rugged trail on the other side of the parking lot. The two are separate loops, so you can choose your adventure. There are restrooms, but they are a few minutes walk down the trail, rather than right at the parking area. Not a lot of camping sites, but some back right up to the creek, which is nice.

Variety of camp sites available including electric, non electric and cabins. Nice flat sites for tents, although a bit on the small side. Multiple water spigots along the road made lugging water easy. Park is a hiker's paradise with several trails and stunning scenery. There is a playground and picnic area, but no dog run area (dogs are allowed). Office staff wasn't overly friendly, but a very nice campground!

Quiet, soothing creeks flowing through the valley. Trout swimming in the crystal clear water. Trails to follow for all level hiking.

Nice park in the south east corner of the State. Trail maps and signs could have been more plentiful and clearer. Nice campground. Pretty little creek in a river valley. Some steep trails as well as flat trails along the river. Not very busy for a beautiful Saturday in the summer.

Nice state park in Southeast MN. Good place to visit in Fall. Good hiking trails. It is possible to do all trails in a day (23 miles) if you plan it out.

Cool to see the natural spring water seeping out of the rocks. Note: It's not like a geyser that shoots out of the ground. More like seeping / flowing water coming out from under some rocks. Very peaceful in the fall. Good foliage. $7 cost for a single car day pass.

This state Park is in a deep valley in SE MN bluff country. Very scenic area and offers a great feel of seclusion. The park staff is friendly. Some of the trails are steep and wouldn't be good for hiking with kids. The other trails are great and very well shaded for a nice hike even on hot days. There is a playground that our kids loved. The shower facilities seemed well maintained and clean. Only downside to this park is the lack of flush toilets, vault toilets only. No cell service either, which would be an issue in an emergency so a weather radio would be essential if you stay here. Overall I would definitely come back here.

Ok camp grounds, we hit on a super heavy rain night, where every water path was over flowing, and flooding. The campers were safe. Camp Host was on top of the storm.

A great place to see the fall colors! Great trails and a beautiful park. Another week and the fall colors are going to be amazing!

The unique geography makes it special. The glaciers stopped there and left very rich soil and created a valley. This place also a unique rain forest like weather. Take there flood warnings seriously!!

This park is magical. I went there and it was 53 degrees and misting, it felt like some sort of fairy tale. The northern trails are much more flat than the ones on the south end of the park, and I would say every trail is extremely interesting except the south trail west of the road, lots of cool rock formations, the creek is perfect, with little rapids and plenty of bridges over it. The plateau rock trail should be treated with caution, if it is muddy at all you have a chance of going sliding down the hill, so be careful. Amazing park, truly.

Its alright. Its calm and quiet. Low-key. Trails are easy with a bit of climb. The trails seem to just randomly end. Vistas along the way aren't that great. Fall colors were so-so this year. Probably a good spot for a family outing/picnic. Not the greatest for hikers.

😐 This is a good campground if you're able to get a spot away from the tracks. Trains come through day and night blowing their whistles. The park itself is nice. The shower doesn't look like much, but has good water pressure. Not every site has their own fire ring.
