Beautiful park to enjoy the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. The two locations are kind of confusing. The Hollingsworth entrance has a gravel entrance that crosses the river over a concrete causeway bridge that parallels a hanging bridge (not part of the park) and passes Muse winery. Boat launch, educational garden, and a short trail along the river are the main attractions. The Lupton entrance also crosses a concrete causeway and is a bigger park with more and longer trails, access for people to play in the river, a great "LOVE" sign, and another hanging bridge (this one in the park, but ends at private property). Really great complex all around!

Lovely state park with pretty new-ish facilities. Perfect place for a hike or paddle right off I 81. There are picnic benches with grills, although no shade yet, will be a while for the trees to grow in. Bear proof garbage containers and clean, non-smelly composting toilets. I don’t know if the suspension foot bridge is part of the park but it was lots of fun to navigate.

It's a beautiful and quiet park with plenty of trails. Due to its location, it's not crowded as well. Trails are from easy to difficult. Keep in mind that the difficult trail is not a loop, and you should return back on the same way. It's really steep sometimes, so be prepared with the proper shoes. There are actually two entrances to the park. The park is crossed by a small river. It's not deep, but we have seen people tubing and kayaking. There's also a winery next to the park. I would recommend planning a half of the day or the entire day to spend there because there is so much to see.

As the newest park in the Virginia state system, Seven Bends provides over 8 miles of hiking for all abilities along the north fork of the Shenandoah River and surrounding areas. There are two entrances to the park: Lupton and Hollingsworth; both involve narrow roads and tight turns and a single lane bridge. From my experience, the Lupton entrance is the way to go. Note that the roads from the two entrances do not connect inside the park. After parking just inside the entrance, me and my boys hopped on the very easy Gokotta trail that led us along the river about a mile north of the lot. From there we backtracked along Lupton road to the trailhead of the challenging River Bend Rise trail. Modest changes in elevation are sure to keep you working hard along that trail! You can either take the loop around at the end or continue on to the other half of the park; we opted for the former. There are multiple river access points and two dedicated boat launches. Note that this park, while still open, is still under development. The long term plan includes campsites, yurts, expanded trails, and scenic platforms. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

Didn't know it is quite a new-ish park. Very clean and beautiful trails. Didn't "meet" any black bears πŸ˜… Beware of the steep climb at the start of Paw Paw Trail!!! πŸ˜† Reservoir Trail... don't expect to see one 🫣 Didn't utilize the bathroom at the parking lot. The was a small patch of edible garden next to the playground. Thanks for the cherry toms πŸ˜‰ There is also a boat ramp... landing(?) Picnic table with grills. Also, it's near a winery 😁

Gorgeous surroundings! Stellar! Easy walk alongside the Shenandoah River! More difficult options, too. We took a trail marked "difficult" that took us straight up to the Ridgeline. Steep but trail was in good shape. It was majestic! Bring $5 cash fir an easy registration Or use an app to pay online.

We parked at the Lupton Rd entrance. Beautiful park with lots of picnic tables, but know that most are out in full sun. We did a short loop, and walked down to the water at a few different access points. Toilet facilities available at both entrances. It was a nice spot to picnic and do a short walk. You could do a longer walk if you choose. Very relaxing.

Checked out this park while in the area. Right next to the first parking lot was an area for kids to explore. Went for a short run on the trails. Fish Bight was gravel and along the water nice and easy. Then there was Paw Paw Hollow which went straight up the hill. It was a challenge and not for everyone.
