My wife and I had a fantastic 2 nights in one of the hot tub, fire place, King bed rooms. It was so quiet and peaceful. We went for a walk on the walking trail, visited the small museum complete with a few Model-Ts. The owner Marv was the sweetest man and scooped the complementary banana split himself each night. We had a great time playing ping-pong in the game room. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were fantastic which made it that much more relaxing because we didn't have to go off-site. I highly recommend this place...We will be back!

This best way to describe this place is magical. Having dinner And breakfast with a view of the lake was so relaxing. Loved the museums, trail and pedal boats. Lots of places to sit and relax with many different views. The room was excellent . We loved the rocking chairs!

We loved our stay at The Shack! It is a great place to relax and get away from everyday stresses! Every employee all the way up to the owner treats you like family. The 100 acre property is open for guests to go for walks of the trails, sit outside for a bonfire, or just relax with a beautiful view of the lake. The buildings are beautiful and very rustic. There are 55 rooms with some of them having a kitchenette and many of them having a hot tub or a fireplace. Dinner is a buffet of comfort food! We had ham, roast beef, barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, cheesy potatoes, green beans, fruit, bread pudding, and rolls! Then, later in the evening comes banana splits! You get your choice of at least 10 different ice creams and you get 3 big scoops! They put it right on top of the bananas and you can add your own toppings. There is also a game room located downstairs. The breakfast buffet is also wonderful with a variety of choices! This place would be great for family reunions, church retreats, or any kind of getaway! The entire property is non smoking. Check it out for yourself!

This is an amazing place. So peaceful and serene... My wife and I have come here every year for the last five years to attend a weekend marriage retreat. We always enjoy our stay and retreat is awesome too. Couples Getaway with Bridge to Life Ministries.

We came to stay for our 20th wedding anniversary and we totally enjoyed ourselves! It was such a relaxing atmosphere! Our room was wonderful and very comfortable, with a fireplace and very large jet tub (they call it a hot tub), mini fridge, microwave, table and chairs. They have plenty to do! Theres a small museum, billiards, ping pong, inside shuffleboard, excercise equipment, pontoon style paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, walking trails and lots of chairs to relax in outside. I would highly recommend the Shack for a relaxing get away! They serve breakfast and dinner (not sure if it's normal but dinner was included in our price) plus the bonus of banana splits every night with different flavors of ice cream to choose from!

My husband took me here to celebrate a milestone and we loved it. It was relaxing, peaceful and unique. Family friendly, but perfect for a couple’s getaway. Be persistent to call for reservations. It is worth it.

The price was pretty good for what you get. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, and our bathroom didn't seem very clean. This place seems to be set up for older folks, since there was nothing for my three year old to do. But we enjoyed the paddle boats on the lake, and the setting and landscaping were beautiful!

The food was good and the rooms are very large. The service was also good and I appreciated seeing the owner stepping in to help. The location is pretty remote but if you enjoy the outdoors you will be ok.

we enjoyed this for our mini honeymoon 10/8-10/10/22 we had a queen bed with heart shape hot tub and fireplace in the room as well as a mini fridge and microwave. The room when we entered smelled like a nursing home and the water is definitely on a well, as soon as we turned the water on the sulfer smell gaged us! the bed itself is a spring mattress and was quite uncomfortable. Lovely property even though it's smoke free grounds and buildings we just rode off the property to the boat launch around the corner to smoke...All in all I would still go back and stay again!

We love this place! Just were there for the second time, this time was fall tho...so the sunrise on the lake with the colored trees was just gorgeous. A room with a hot tub is a must, and definitely make it a priority to get a banana split! Yum!😋
