One of the most peaceful temples I have been to in Japan. I recommend going on a sunny Fall day and enjoy the fragrant trees that bloom during that season. The smell is intoxicating and one you will never forget. This temple complex is medium sized and there are many photo oportunities within it's walls. There are a number of other attractions near by so you can make an afternoon of exploring. If coming ot Sanuki I highly reccomend this location.

藤原不比等とその息子所縁の四国八十八か所札所。 仁王門と五重塔が並ぶ姿が印象的な寺院で、現在は薬師堂が修理予定など寺観が調えられていますが、草が繁り、木々も剪定されていないところもあり、場所により蚊などもいます。 しかし、7月16日に開帳された御本尊は近くで拝見でき、お寺の方も解説してくださり、特別御朱印もあるなど参拝が楽しめました。 しかもノンアルビールの御下がりつきでした。 拝観料は500円です。 同時に開帳される閻魔堂では十一面のある閻魔王像について、お寺の方が丁寧に説明をくださりました。 授与所裏の枯山水の庭は無料で鑑賞でき、そのとなりにある池泉式庭園跡も草がしげるものの、自由に散策できます。 境内の五重塔傍には藤原房前を生んだ海女の墓があります。
