Clean and convenient hostel we stayed at before starting the 88 temple journey at Temple 11. The owner was very kind and encouraging! We ate before coming, but it looks like there’s a dinner menu in English. The accommodation is bunk bed style, but with a pull down privacy screen. Perfect spot if you are staying with a group of other travelers!

Very friendly family host, helpful. No kitchen but fridge, cutting board and knife, free laundry and ¥100 dryer, bicycle free for 3h, ¥500 for 12h, shower necessary free also... very clean place. “Negative“ points There is a computer but very slow. We can not stay between 10am and 4pm... If you need to rest, there is a park not far from here ;)

The place looks weird from outside, it sits on a major street, but inside is modern, clean and quiet. It’s been full remodeled, very pleasant stay with all the amenities which you shared by genders. I had the female dorm all to myself. You need your own towel, everything else was provided. There were several common areas to hang out or work outside of your room. There’s view of the street in front or back driveway, so don’t expect too much. The owner and his daughter who managed the place are super helpful and friendly. She understands English and can communicate to helped you with your need. I needed help figuring out the 5 days bus pass which I should not have purchased (NOT recommended if your are walking or doing the pilgrimage) and how to use it. She made many phone calls trying to arrange that for me, because the bus driver, reservation service and people at the bus station DO NOT speaks English at all. Most of the people I met in Shikoku do not speak English, so prepare by studying a bit of Japanese will help!

Staff is super nice and the place is super super clean! When you first arrive, you will be shocked because it is much better than you think. Everything is perfect. And you can have some coffee or tea on the house in the lounge.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. Everything was very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful giving me advice on my routes and printing out bus maps for me. I can recommend this hostel 100%!

Surprisingly wonderful! Extremely clean and very kind and helpful staff. There is a nice, calm space for coffee in the morning. We chose the Japanese style room with tatami mats and had a very good night’s rest. The laundry amenities were excellent. Convenience stores and restaurants close by and the guest house is just over the bridge, making it a welcome relief for those coming on foot. Thank you so much!

Cool place to stay at the pilgrimage, after T10. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean rooms. And also an area where you can get together with others, which I like after being alone all day. Anytime again!

Wonderful little space, pleasant and helpful staff, and overall an enjoyable stay. Ample parking on-site and it’s right across from a convenience store in case you need anything.

May not be the best located Henro house but everything was perfect for my stay there. There were only two guests (another lady and me) the night I stayed and so I had the whole male dormitory to myself. The host who is a mid-age gentleman was very helpful and managed to communicate with me in English (I heard earlier that he was not able to speak English from other reviews?!) The place has a modern design and a lot of public space, is clean and comfortable. There may be rules people don't like but they are there to help the owner to run the place properly. I would say it is a place with personality. There are paid laundry, 1 bathroom, 2 toilets but no kitchen. After all, it was inexpensive at JPY3,500 at the time I visited. STAY GRATEFUL!
