I called up to make a booking, I explained it was my little girls birthday and asked if they could do something special and make a fuss of her. He asked if we wanted cake which at first I said no but then instantly we called back and said yes. We arrived and had our food, I asked the waitress about the birthday surprise as no fuss was made to be told in these words. If you order something from the menu we'll stick a candle in it, I wasn't expecting anything huge a token would have been nice and to actually have the guts to come to the table and say this too rather than having the waitress whisper in my partners ear. Shocking attitude, bar staff are nice but Steven the manager isn't. We spent a lot of money on the food, it's not about money but about the principle and the thought that counts. Good customer service can go along way

My favourite local pub! I often go here with my friend to have a catch up and am always impressed with their food. I can’t say I’ve ever tried their starters, but based on how delicious their main courses and desserts are, I’m sure the starters are equally as good! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Fabulous place, food is Excellent!! Had the hot beef bun and it was gorgeous....outstanding service from lyndsey at the bar and camilla the waitress...highly recommended!!! *****

Birthday lunch out at The Bay Horse, a fairly modern pub inside, lots of places to sit, comfy chairs and friendly relaxed atmosphere. Burger was delicious I am told, home made chips too, portion was huge!! The halloumi flat bread was on tortilla bread, the halloumi was cooked to perfection and the chilli jam was amazing. The salad leaves 🫣 what a shame, gritty and not washed, not tasty at all. White choc and raspberry roulade was divine. The waitress was really lovely on an incredibly busy afternoon. Very reasonable prices. Would have been a five if it wasn't for the grit!!

We booked for our Christmas get together table of 8. I have to say I was very disappointed from start to finish. Most things we asked for off the menu they didn’t have! The service and the wait time was appalling we asked for a drink 4times no joke.. when our food arrived it was cremated no one asked if we wanted any condiments or anything or even if our meal was ok.. safe to say 6/8 of us left most of our meals and we will not be returning…! Horrendous service and shocking food. Avoid at all cost….!!!! This must of changed hands as it used to beautiful

All tables were booked but manage to get a slot. Staff were very nice helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. Well worth the trip out.

Good food with ample portions. Staff excellent. Very popular place so booking is essential. Large eating area. So maybe not the best for an intimate meal for two. But would recommend giving this a try as the food quality is very good

Was a little disappointed. Service was very slow. After arriving we waited 25 minutes and eventually I asked if someone could take our drinks order as it was table service only. We got our drinks and then placed our food order. Starter came quite quickly but then we waited 40 minutes for our main. My lasagne was delicious although didn't come with any garnish. My daughters steak came overdone so ruined. Think they seemed short staffed and the staff were unhappy and rubbish customer service, all in all not a good experience tonight.

What a breath of fresh air....visiting whilst back under challenging circumstances to my home town and was able to call into The Bay Horse to check it would be suitable for me, as I have an acquired brain injury. The staff were brilliant, totally accommodating and positioned us in a table with as little stimuli from people and music as possible. The music could go down in volume more personally, but I realise this is subjective. The staff were all highly attentive, despite the pub being busy.....and I've not got to the food! We had a fillet steak & chips and bangers and mash with veg both of which were top! The veg was cooked well not under or over.....my husband loved the sausages, gravy and proper mash. My steak was great and proper chips, much appreciated. We will definitely return and big thanks...

I don't live in the area, but have visited several times over the years while visiting family and have always been impressed but never left a review before. On this visit I am sadly in the area due to serious health issues with family and hospital visits but a visit to the Bay Horse was a much needed break. We were looked after amazingly by all staff and the food is second to none, proper home cooked. Highly recommended x

Very disappointed indeed, starters were good but our main course below average,lacking in taste, food I will say was served hot. I cant speak for anyone else but a table next to us sent one of there main course back to the kitchen. Staff need more training, although the guy on the bar was trying to direct them, and stop them (congregating)as he put it.

Went for the mothers day lunch as a treat from my daughter and son. Although it was extremely busy and it took a little while for the food,it was excellent and well worth the wait.The sticky chocolate orange cake was one of the best desserts I 've ever had. Could not fault it. Also staff very professional and polite

This is a perfect 10 restaurant/bar. We booked a table for 2 an hour before arrival and was stunned to find the place was packed on a Tuesday afternoon. Every plate I saw was filled with the most amazing food and even though me and my partner only had a light bite it was a bit portion and delicious. Can't wait to visit again

Called in on the off chance of some food and drink on a Saturday. They fitted us in, great friendly staff and service. Food was very tasty and good portions. The smell of others food was awesome. Definitely worth a meal here

My local. The food is always fantastic. Service is always very good. Sometimes very busy and you can see the staff are working under lots of pressure. We have never had a bad meal here.

Lovely food in a lovely pub, been a good while since we have been here but was really impressed with the food and the quality of it. Went again yesterday for Christmas Dinner was tasty. Also have been and collected a takeaway Sunday dinner absolutely lovely will use again

The food here is delicious. The portions are very generous. Good selection of beers. Friendly, helpful staff. Usually very busy and not surprised. Give it a try and you'll see why it's so popular.

My husband surprised me with lunch here and wasn’t disappointed. Food was absolutely delicious. Service great. Staff buzzing around but not disturbing you and keeping an eye making sure you have everything you need. Definitely will return

This place is one of my favourites to eat. The place is very well presented. Decor clean and is consistent throughout. Very comfortable seating. Staff are always on hand to make sure you are comfortable and served well. It has always been packed every time we go so booking is advisable. We've booked at the last minute and the staff are always working hard to see you can get a table but on one occasion it was just so busy so couldn't get a table but when we do it's a warm comfortable visit. The food is steaming hot and of great quality which never falters. Prices are reasonable. Parking sometimes a little difficult if the place is packed but there are places to park in the village All round beautiful home cooked food served with a smile

While I have been working away up north this has been one of my favorite places to eat out. The staff are friendly and always welcoming, the food is second to none and absolute bargain prices. Had my first "Parmo" and it was excellent. Definitely will be back again.

Staff really friendly. Food was excellent and well presented. They experienced a technical glitch with technology but they pulled together and ensured guests orders were received and bills were correct. Would advise booking in advance because it is very popular. We will definitely return x

Good food.... lovely portions.... very good price...nice atmosphere... little wait... but busy... Probably as a good place to eat... I'd certainly recommend.... want to go back again to try the other meals we saw others having too ....
