Found the lady owner not very pleasant in her Yorkshire manner , very opinionated person. She, the owner cpmlained to me about my paying with card as she said it cost her money every time a customer did this ! I thought paying with plastic was the common way these days? Also the waffles tasted old, stale and tasteless. The sticky date cake was over baked, dry and not at all sticky ,,most disappointing overall. Would never eat there again . Although I must say the coffee was reasonable .

This is a great little place! We came here based on the recommendation of a friend, and we weren't disappointed. The offerings are varied enough that there's something for everyone. I had one of the panini, and it was quite tasty--just the right amount of crispy on the outside without being dried out. We got a piece of carrot cake for dessert, and it was one of the best slices I've had anywhere. Very moist with a delightful mixture of spices. We will return!

Toasted sandwich good. Had to send my hot chocolate back as it wasn't hot enough. Lady with a young baby needed to change her nappy. No facilities apart from toilet. I wanted to buy a cake to take home when I paid but was told that they don't really do that as they may not have enough. If I had ordered it at the table then taken it home to eat isn't that the same??? Ok but wouldn't choose this place again.

We stopped off for a coffee back in December and had one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had. And also, little did we know that by the time we left it was after closing but they let us stay with no bother. Recommended!

Not a friendly place. The blonde woman made us feel like we'd done something wrong by going and sitting down at an empty not reserved table. Food was fine. Have been there before but didn't have this bad reception. Impatient and rude. She then served two people who came in after us and got them their drinks but still hadn't brought ours.

We came today from Derbyshire to visits Salts Mill. Don’t bother with the restaurant at the mill. This cafe is just across the road from the entrance and is well worth the visit. The soup was fantastic and the staff instantly made us feel at home . They even gave us the recipe for the sweet potato and split bean soup. Lovely atmosphere and nice art work on the walls. The prices are great too .. highly recommended.

This cafe appealed to us because it was dog friendly and we love a good homemade cake. We were so pleased to find that the welcoming Ellen (the owner and baker) and her wonderful team are not just dog friendly, but truly love dogs and offered to hold our little puppy while we ate out cake - which was a delicious and very lemony drizzle cake for me, the house speciality. The art is a great addition and showcases local, affordable art. You can get an original piece for as little as £80. Go for the experience, stay for the cake and conversation.

Amazing soups, I tried the spicy sweet potato and thought it was fabulous, however when I tried my girlfriends mushroom soup I had food envy it was so tasty. When I told the waitress I'd made the wrong choice she brought me a small cup of mushroom soup so I didn't miss out, top service. Thank you.

Exceptional coffee, very good menu... Try the soups, you will not be disappointed!! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere, plus the cafe is also an art gallery, so if you want you can leave having had great food etc and also with a piece of local art... 5 stars from us!! :-)
