The Sir Norman Rae - JD Wetherspoon

Restaurant Bar Pub

👍 Good old spoons. Went with the in-laws for a quick lunch. Food was decent and service was quick. Four stars due to a couple of burnt bits but nothing major. Also no outside area which isn't as good in the nice weather (however limited problem in England). People often mention good, great, chips, staff, service, nice, friendly,

Can't argue with the value. I've paid much more elsewhere for the same quality food. Service is generally pretty fast.

Another Wetherspoon...another unique carpet. Plenty of spaces to sit down, food was great as always. Drinks were great as always. Chips tasted the same as every other Wetherspoon and the curry sauce is fab. I'd recommend it on the chips!

If you're looking for a pub - restaurant don't go any further. You will walk in and find a table and look over the menu and you can either order at the bar or on their app. I had the southern fried. Hickenlooper with gravy and jack Daniel's bbq sauce with chips. I javelin also tried their Hickenlooper wings, garlic with cheese pizza, and onion rings. This is a place to sit and socialize with friends or family. Highly recommended while you live here or just on Holiday...

Decent atmosphere, just a lot of old men that stare at you!! I try not to let it affect me enjoying good food and drink, but it's something to be aware of. Food was great, mostly hot and fresh... Just the chips were cold! The chicken was super hot and delicious, though.

Came in with my work mate after a shift finish, for some food and a couple of pints. Wetherspoons food I find great for what you pay, drinks are a great selection. Staff there are always great. This was a 9.30pm Sunday night, which is mainly when I visit here. As I mentioned, staff are always great.

Went here today to have a meal after bowling for Mother’s Day. Had to ask to change the cup (for the warm drinks) as there was a brown ring mark in it. When the waiter came with our meals we had to ask to change a knife as there was dried on food still on it from the previous person. We had to ask from the rice, poppadoms and mango chutney, as it never came when the meals came out. They thought the switch from naan to chips was replacing everything else as well! Sorry but a memorable meal for the wrong reasons.

Me and my friends enjoyed ourselves at this pub, which has a lovely design from the windows and lights to the replica fireplace! The counter is also gloriously presented and I enjoyed a refreshing glass of lemonade, served by friendly staff. We sat in comfortable seating, residing at a clean table.

Can't go wrong at 'spoons. You know what you're getting-well priced beer, and fairly priced food. I knocked off a star because the pot boy took my beer away whilst I was away having a pee.....😄.

Usually have a breakfast but it's a bit out of our way, but nice food if you get there early any later than 9 and the food is barely warm .

Nice, friendly staff. Reasonably priced food & drink, plus prompt service... Wife is slightly disabled, so staff were very attentive and came over more than once to see that we were alright. Will pop back again next time we are in the area...

We stopped today for breakfast just before noon in this pub. Its rather basic inside but we had good food and nice hot drinks.

Dreadful! Only time I have experienced scampi and chips to have more scampi than chips. Scampi was cooked at too high a temp- rock hard coating. The few chips were hard. And as for the mushy peas....a thin layer of green mush on the plate. Not one single pea on it. None of it that hot either. I will not eat there again.

Food was great.. but too many tables to close together.im in a wheelchair and it was very busy. I found it very difficult to manoeuvre around tables and seated people..it was an obstacle course.like many places need to look at the height of tables so a wheelchair user can actually get there legs under whilst sat in the wheelchair..great food.bit won't be returning

Good ale/Lager. Good food. Don't need a mortgage to drink there. Only thing is no outside seating which is a shame but still a good bar.

Large floor area with lots of tables and a good selection of beers and spirits at discounted prices. Always found the staff pleasant and helpful , the only downside is it doesn't have the ambiance of a better pub, but then it doesn't have their high prices!

I had a fantastic time here on Sunday, they had a fantastic range of cask ale to excite then the most weary of beer drinker. The place was clean and the service was with a smile. Everything I ordered arrived within a few minutes from the app. I hope to return again when in the area soon. Cheers!

Went to shelter from the rain and get some breakfast. Lots to choose from on the menu, love the refill coffee. Cheap and cheerful, great source for babies and prams.

A good place to meet in the centre of Shipley. Fair range of beers. The best things were the friendly and helpful staff and the low cost.

Pizza was slightly underdone ,chips were cold but buttermilk chicken was very nice. Quick service , friendly staff however I got a glass of milk for my daughter and it has to be taken back as it tasted chemically. Ok place. Not sure IL be back.

Typical large Wetherspoons pub with the usual disappointing food. Didn't think they could get Ham, eggs & chips wrong but unfortunately I received one massively overcooked fried egg instead of the advertised two and got about half a dozen chips. Only saving grace was that the meal was cheap or it would have gone back to the chef.. plenty of other pubs better than this in the area so won't return. Staff not the friendliest or welcoming either.

In our 1 week trip we visited this place 3 times because of how good it was. Very cheap, very tasty, a nice atmosphere and a large menu with something nice to eat for everyone. 5/5

Excellent service. Friendly sraff. Good pint of beer (blonde). Prices have risen quite a lot so go for the specials. We went for steak Tuesday (beautiful).

Did the trick on a hot day, bar staff friendly & efficient, server very polite. Browsed the net on their wi-fi whilst eating a beyond burger & drinking a pepsi, unbelievable value at £5 something!

Cheap and cheerful Spoons. Let's face it, we only go there for the £1.99 ales but they are very good quality and the choice is vast. Atmosphere a little grim, but who cares?

Usual spoons, nice to have a cheaper pint tho. My first pint was 14p so after that not impressed by any of them 🤪
