Sculpture
Park
is
a
large
country
park
which
hosts
over
100
sculptures
spread
around
the
outdoor
area,
along
with
indoor
collections.
The
art
is
of
the
modern
genre,
much
of
which
is
attractive
to
children,
making
for
a
good
family
day
out.
The
exhibits
cover
a
large
area,
so
expect
to
be
taking
exercise
on
well
made
pathways
and
grassed
areas.
The
park
is
mobility
aid
friendly,
with
mobility
scooters
available
in
the
main
entrance.
There
are
two
main
catering
and
amenity
locations,
the
Weston
in
particular
offering
a
wide
variety
of
food
and
drinks.
There
is
also
an
area
where
picnicking
is
popular.
Covid
restricts
admission
to
advance
booking,
at
£6pp,
free
to
under
18s,
the
car
parking
pay
machines
are
currently
suspended.
Pre
Covid
the
only
admission
was
£12
per
vehicle
for
the
day,
including
all
occupants.
The
admission
charges
help
fund
the
park.
Courses
are
available
in
arts
and
crafts.
The
Park
is
easily
accessible
by
car,
being
just1mile
from
jct38
of
the
M1.
From
jct38
take
the
A637,
then
the
two
entrances
are
on
the
left,
the
first
being
for
the
Weston,
the
second,
off
a
roundabout,
being
for
the
main
entrance.
Obviously
a
visit
to
the
Park
is
weather
dependent,
indoor
facilities
and
exhibitions
aside,
but
whatever
the
conditions,
this
is
a
an
excellent
place
to
visit,
especially
for
fans
of
modern
art.
My
last
visit
was
pre
Covid,
but
as
restrictions
are
easing
the
YSP
is
commissioning
new
exhibits
from
February
and
March
2022.
The
website
has
all
the
information,
including
the
current
Covid
status.
