Since staffing has changed the service is ridiculous. No one is ever in a rush to get anything done, it takes them forever to make anything and half the time the order is wrong. If you ask for it correcting you feel like you've asked for their pay cheque! Recently they never have any clean cups so only offer take out and they'd ran out of spoons so we had to use straws to mix the drinks with, for the price you pay you expect better service. One particular staff member who makes the drinks has a major attitude problem and just blatantly lies when you double check he's made the order right. We've stopped going and will use another one from now on.

A recent visit to our favourite Costa Cafe in Foster Square, but unfortunately the whole experience was daunting, the new work force was dull, unenthusiastic and discourteous [especially the guy with the nose ring] whereas the previous workforce was so polite, welcoming and friendly... I miss that pleasant vibe we used to get on our visits, I think we'll stick with Starbucks for now 😕

Arrived at 5pm thinking we had plenty of time for a catch up, sat down with our coffee then a member of staff came around informing us they were closing at 5.30! Door and website says 8pm close, member of staff pointed out the smallest sign in the world on the door saying closing at 5.30. Then another member of staff came round saying we are closing NOW! You need to leave! Why not tell us before ordering!? We wouldn’t have bothered getting our drinks if we knew we only had half an hour, in future will look for an independent coffee shop/bar instead, fed up of Costa now they are taking over the world, overly priced and not particularly good coffee, and toilets are filthy, we only meet here because it’s convenient and there is plenty of parking, not anymore!

I visit this Costa on average 3 times a week, I will start by saying the staff on a morning are 5 *. Always pleasant with a good morning or how are you, good manners with thank you and please. This review is in no way a reflection of their service. That been said, the shop is severely under staffed, Costa need to give them budget for another member of staff or two. This is more a reflection on Costa hiring policies than the staff themselves. Once or twice a month, I would arrive in the morning about 7.50am with the store opening at 7.30. The doors would be locked, with one member of staff alone inside. They could not open for fire safety until two people are on site, this is understandable and people can be late or ill from time to time. However this past week, I went Friday, Monday and today. Friday a member of staff was stood outside when I arrived at about 7.50am, and still their when I left at 8.15am, no key holder or supervisor to open up the shop. Monday a member of staff was inside alone with the door locked, no one in sight to to open up with them. Lastly today a hand written notice in the door, sorry we will not be opening until 9am. No reason given. Costa! Many people use this shop on a morning and throughout the day. Give them more budget to hire staff so they can have 3 in a morning to open, if one falls ill or late the shop can still serve it's customers! and an extra person through the day. Lunch time and the afternoon this shop is packed, they need staff to run it correctly.

Always a wonderful experience and a friendly, relaxing and calming atmosphere. Great quality food and drinks and a wonderful array to choose from. A great way to start your day or simply unwind at the end of the day.

Been having a nice flat white nearly every day this summer - but yesterday I was very disappointed as mine wasn’t hot, so it tasted like my forgotten cup at home for breakfast. Didn’t bother to ask for another one, as there was a long slow queue and didn’t want to throw away the milk - but for £3.50 you’d expect a well crafted hot drink - or they can ask if you like it lukewarm or hot - although think it was probably due to staff still on training! Anyway not coming back after that

Since it. Was last done out it is very cold, it does not feel warm and welcoming like it used to do and the toilets are always wet through and smell discusting, such a shame I don't visit as much.

Visit here regularly, the young manager here is amazing, friendly and always trying his best, that can’t always be said for some of the other staff, though generally they are all young! The place needs a good deep clean n then maintained! Avoid the toilets! They should in honesty have a health warning on them! Not pleasant but that’s also partly down to the customers that use them! Who’d want to clear up someone else’s grossness! The drinks n food make up for the negatives and the few staff who are pleasant. Cheers

I've been at this costa coffee shop 3-4 times, i always been waiting at least 15 mins to be served!!! Last time i visited this place i was very disappointed... I've been waiting as always , so i took a sit and waiting still... so my coffee wasn't even ready to be make 😄 (they forgot probably) so next time you have to wait there, don't sit!! Well i decided to go and wait there standing front of the bar, no body even asked me if i need anything. So i kept waiting, i decided to ask for my coffee, the guy said: I will make it now, so no apologies at all. Anyway coffee is ok but service is not good at all, and place is not clean. Staff is too slow , and there's just 3 barista working. Don't judge my opinion, i don't hate Costa Coffee!!

Great solid place to eat. Staff are nice, service impeccable and always eat in if I have the time! A shame they changed the Mac and cheese though, it doesn't taste the same anymore!!

Dirty spoons/ dirty tables/glasses had some white powder stuff on it toilets wasn't clean some of the staff was rude but not all like most places they don't tell you it cost extra for the syrup you would expect it to be part of the drink you ordered not as a added cost.

Popped in to get a coffee and snack but used the toilet first. Let just say I didn’t order anything after using the toilet

Ordered a Toblerone latte and a large hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. My Toblerone latte looked nothing like it was supposed to. It didn't taste like Toblerone either. No sprinkles or cocoa powder! Hot chocolate was missing the cream! Not much variety for vegans/vegetarians, sick of cheese toasties lol.

I go to Costa everyday. Give this one a miss. Absolutely chaotic inside. Incredible busy and not enough staff to man the shop. Maybe they are trying to cut costs, but in doing so, each customer will be waiting a minimum of 20 minutes to place their orders.

It's always too cold, the tables are often left uncleaned for too long. I don't blame the staff working, rather the amount they need over the amount they have. Toilets are not very clean. The coffee is well prepared and tastes as it should.

Served by a very happy young team who were welcoming, friendly and fun. Very quick service and put a smile on my face as well as my mum's 😊

Came here last weekend and it was filthy, there were cups left on nearly every table so , rubbish on the floor and my photo only shows half of the mess, the other side of the coffee shop was just as bad. Every table outside were also just as littered with rubbish. Staff did not seem concerned with the rubbish but rather the hardly empty stock at front of counter which took 2 people to do and both staff just walked passed the rubbish like it was not there. Not welcoming at all, the staff said when ordering that they are only using paper cups because they were short staffed.

Got takeaway Frappes. Once we got to the car the lids came off both cups. One got saved whilst the other spilt over the seat!! The lids were far too big and would not fit on to the cups. Staff should always ensure the lids are secured properly before giving to customers.

Even though they did not have my first choice of Frappe, I was very satisfied with what I got

I’m a very loyal customer of Costa but the person name Freys in this branch need to get low on attitude. Stupid customer service, she have absolutely no sense of how to talk to the customers. Might be tired of working here.

I have been a regular at this branch for several years, but have noticed a steep decline in service recently. This could be staffing shortages, but it is also apparent that newer staff members have poorer customer service skills. Service is also much slower, the branch closes early and they start clearing up well before closing time.

Queued for a short time as busy, but did not have to wait long. Happy with the service. I have dined in previously and although it was busy, I was able to relax and enjoy my coffee. Staff courteous and helpful.

Great service from the friendly staff, the big guy Mo no’s exactly what drink you want as soon as you walk through the door great customer service by him. The store manager sure no’s how to run the store, she is understaffed today but she’s thinking outside the box by making all drinks available in take away cups only, leaving staff to serve and keep customers happy and less time wasted washing up. Keeping the wheels turning. Well done

Ordered the chocolate fudge brownie frappe mocha. I had the same exact drink yesterday at my local Costa and it didn't taste half as good as this one did from this Costa. It was really yummy and I enjoyed it so much 😊 I ordered through the app and it was ready on time. 👍

In my opinion Costa is by far the best coffee shop chain Foster Square shop very fast service and excellent staff 👍

Coffee was great, sandwich over priced. Tables are not cleared and cleaned when people leave so we had to sit at the least messy table. Disappointing.

We went First thing this Morning (Boxing Day) 10:30am opening, we were third to be served went to sit down Tables Dirty Sugar Etc still on them and Floors Dirty Food and bits all other. NOT Good to see first thing should be clean and tidy.
