Great place to visit. You can park on site as part of your ticket and there are toilets at the entrance. Its about a 1/2 mile walk and the paths are nice and smooth, no hiking boots required just sensible shoes. There is a coffee shop/van on site half way with plenty seating and a play ground for children. The cave and well is magical and worth the visit. Gift shop and museum is at the end of the trail. You require about 2 hours to have a gentle stroll and see everything.

Really loved it here and a fascinating place to visit. From the Petrifying Well which had a recording you could active to here all about the well to the cave Mother Shipton was born in and the wishing well all very well looked after and plenty of information to read about its history. As it's Christmas time there were plenty of decorations and a Santa's Grotto for the children to visit which was lovely. If you are interested in this kind of thing then I highly recommend a visit and at £11.00 per adult if you are arriving by foot the price was not to bad .

The first time we went here was over 16 years ago and enjoyed the experience. So we decided to go back again and take our son, it has changed so much. Brilliant place for the kids now, take a picnic as lovely places to sit and picnic tables and lovely views. There is a large play park and it was a lovely walk. There is a few car parks so go with your car.

Lovely little walk it took just over a hour to walk round. There’s loads off lovely picnics hut tables. You get 2.30 hours in there and you’re not allowed to leave your car there to look round the town. The water fall is amazing. The views are incredible. They’re a nice little park for the kids. The museum was good and very interesting. Go check it out.

Quite pricey at 9.50 but in the name of conservation it's worth it. It's a fairly long walk to the actual cave and such but it's beautiful views all the way and the parks decoration is outstanding. There's a lot if interesting information on the way and if you're in the area I'd definitely recommend going to see this place. There's food and drinks available and toilets too. It's not wheelchair accessible as it's an ancient place.

It was a lovely day out. We took a picnic with us. They have lots of little huts and benches that you can sit in and eat your picnic. It's a really nice place to take the kids. The story of witch is interesting and the cave and water fall have audio outputs which give you information. Walking by the river is lovely also, you see people enjoying their day by rowing small boats. I would definitely recommend it to others.

This place was so fun. It was amazing weather which added to the magnificence, but the atmosphere of the walk itself was so good. There were actors who were great for the kids and plenty of places to sit down and rest. They do have places that supply food and drink, but even though there isn't any gluten free hot foods, the ice cream was lovely and not all-together expensive. It's a great place to burn a few hours and so close to other great sights. Will definitely go back

Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Easy walking along the trails, but steps down to the cave and wishing we'll, so unsuitable for wheelchair users or those who struggle with stairs. Kiosk which sells hot drinks - good quality coffee, snacks and amazing ice cream, at a very reasonable price. Plenty of places to sit and eat. Large adventure playground for active energic children!

A lovely place with nice surroundings. A nice day out and see the historical information about why it's called Mother Shipton. The surrounding pubs are brilliantly run with friendly staff and amples of food for the price

Beautiful place, dog friendly too. The children themed decorations were perfect for visiting families. The well and cave take you back to a place where time stands still in this peaceful location. All the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble.

Great for all the family. Featured seasons make it magical for children no matter the season. Throughout the summer holidays there’s been a magical array of story themes such as Alice in wonderland, Humpty Dumpty & the Three little Pigs. We’ve seen pixy fairy homes, healing waters, wishing wells, angels and beautiful woods to walk through. This is only a small portion of what can be done and seen. There’s a great little gift shop that’s reasonably priced, clean toilets and food stands that also serve dairy free iced cream.

I booked the ticket online to visit this Easter break for £33 for the car park and entrance ticket. We were late because we were lost 😂. However, the staff at the entrance was still helpful and informative. We parked near the river and walked a long way to the cave. On the midway, they have an area of Easter activities which looks impressive and exciting for kids, and they have a playground for kids, which is good, but it is pretty muddy and slippery on that day. They have a coin tree where you can put the coin in the tree, which looks interesting to do that. They have some kiosks for drinks and food. We walked to Mother's Shipton cave, where located near the river. It surprised me when I saw the natural cave, where they claim she used to live, which is small and will be cold in the wintertime. We went to the well to wish them luck, too; it is the main goal for this visit 😁 We went to the gift shop at the end of the walking path. It is small but has its signature souvenir. The ticket allowed you to take time for 2.5 hours as it covers the whole area.

Great place. Lovely walk. There is plenty to do for children & loads of parking, though if it is only 2 of you I would try & park in the public car park as this works out cheaper. It was a very interesting place to visit. I would recommend it.

Interesting story at this very old attraction. Nice half term interactive children's display on the wooded walk to the cave about fairy tales for children.

Not impressed really, we visited with our son for his first visit to Christmas and in total it cost £50-60. Seeing Santa was nice, but we were in and out in minutes, then to make it worse we had to pay £12 for some images they took of us, which then all turned out to be very low quality. The Christmas event was nice enough but was basically a themed cafe outside, not much to really do at all. Getting down to the museum and cave was near impossible with our little son. Then if we wanted to go into Knaresborough we’d of had to pack everything back into the car and go and find more parking. Extremely over priced, it’s more somewhere you’d go for a nice social media picture for Instagram and not an actual nice family day out. Update: changed down to 2 starts as my complaint has been totally ignored on many platforms

Brilliant place, fantastic history and a lovely walk. We made a wish in the well and had a fab picnic. Dogs are welcome on leads and even allowed in the shop.

such a beautiful walk to the cave and surrounding areas, the waterfall and wishing well were beautiful, signage throughout the walk explaining the history. directions were clear as this isn’t a tour. gift shop at the end was very interesting, different petrified objects on display and available to buy. staff were all very friendly and the place was clean and well maintained. there’s a park for the kids along with a coffee van and an ice cream shed serving refreshments. such a gorgeous place of natural beauty. would definitely return!

Went during the school holidays, not too busy. My little boy loved meeting the mermaid and pirate (who was fabulous with the children) nice little play area, lots of places to sit including picnic benches, ice cream, coffee, hot chocolate available. Nice little museum area and gift shop. Cave, waterfall and wishing well was lovely to see.

Great attraction and our friend had visited it decades earlier and commented on it improvement now with the mixed activities. Would recommend to all ages and you also have the option of buying your own stone teddy in the gift shop.

Took the kids here on Halloween and the added extra tents were fantastic. A lovely little trail suitable for my 5 year old and 2 old (not suitable for a buggy but was able to leave in various places close by) the storey you can read along the way is easy to follow and interesting. Would definately go back. Close to the local town

Really enjoyed our visit...a lovely walk through the woods, with fantastic views of picturesque Knaresborough. Staff super-friendly and helpful, and more than happy to answer any questions we had...😊👍The little museum featuring petrified items left by celebrities was well worth a look too...😊👍

Wasn't sure what to expect, but this place really delivered! it was a nice walk along the river to a few pop up themed 'huts'. It was Pirate and Mermaid themed this summer. There is quite a big kids playground with swings, seesaws, climbing frame etc. Then another short walk to the cave and wishing well. All in all probably spent around 2 hours here. Nice walk, bit of fresh air, some history, and the kids enjoyed the run around. Can't complain!

If you want a great day out with the family then Mother Shipton Cave could be the place to go.Its interesting, full of history, loads to see and a lovely walk along the river. The carpark is huge so no worries there and it's not a bad price. The whole thing probably takes a good couple of hours of steady walking. Some of the paths are slippy and steep so be careful.Go down to her cave, see the magical waters, see the pirate cabins, gift shop and then have yourself a fab ice-cream.A lot of celebrities have donated things including John Wayne, all in The Gift Shop. The story of Mother Shipton and her family is really interesting,it draws you in and a bit unbelievable really. She really was like our version of Nostradamus but unfortunately she had the looks of a witch. The rest is history.

This was such a great find. If you have a large car use the wide car entrance. Plenty of parking and the entry price is worth it. Mother Shipton has a interesting story, I won't spoil it. But check out the Teddy Bears turned to stone by the water fall, but I would not pay £50+ for the privilege. The meseum and fossilised items from celebrities are interesting. Don't forget to put your right hand in and make a wish.

Such a beautiful walk, and lovely experience, filled with local history and folklore. The gift shop and museum are absolutely adorable. Staff are lovely, too! Definitely worth a visit 😊

Halloween Event. It was a perfect family time in this place. Halloween decoration, witches show and beautiful nature around to see amazing cave, waterfall and a fountain. Definitely I would recommend to come to visit this place. Toilets in three places - near the entrance, in the middle and end of the walking path. As I was pregnant it wasn’t be a problem for me to find a restroom. Plus there are places where to rest too and to have a picnic or just chill out a bit . No problem with the parking as there are many parking places and stuff guides you where you could park your car.

Unique and fun experience, though overwhelmingly this is something to do with kids. It's a very pretty location. There is a café on site. Get there at opening time if you can.
