I have never been to a restaurant quite like this! Once arriving you wait in line, place your order, and receive a number for your meal. We receive our food quickly and usually eat at the restaurant (which is a total dive) as the bread is warm and fresh. If you have ever had Afghan food, to me it takes more similar to Indian food than Lebanese food. It is very spicy. Great for late night as they are open 24/7!!!

This place has absolutely delicious food, and everything is very fresh and well prepared. It's a go to place for taxi and other drivers since it's open 24/7 and near Ronald Reagan airport. You pick your meat, which is absolutely delicious and is halal, and once it's done, you are given a delicious piece of bread and several sides to choose from in a buffet type format. If you enjoy adventures in food and holes in the wall this is an experience to be remembered. Or a great place to keep returning to.

Although they call it an Afghan place, I found the menu sounds more like Pakistani and the preparation as more like Bangladeshi style. The best thing about this place is that they are open 24 hours and the food is hot and fresh. We stopped by for the dinner in late night ( 1ish in the morning) , and to my surprise the place was quite packed! We ordered goat karahi, and Chapli kabab and a lassi. The lassi ( salted one) was thick and fresh but the taste was very weird. I did not like it. Maybe the sweeter/ mango one would be better, I don’t know! The goat karahi portion size was humongous. It can feed at least FOUR people! They serve some freshly baked pita/ tandoori roti, and other sides with it too. We got some biriyani rice and chhole. The sides were not much good. The goat karahi was flavourful, and spicy. The meat was tender and juicy. They served two Chapli kababs with some biriyani rice as side. The kababs were decent sized however mediocre in taste. Overall, if you are looking for some value for money this is your place. You would get a huge amount of fresh food- however, if you are after finer things like refined taste, exquisite service - this is not your place.

I tried a bunch of things here and the only thing that I thought was good: the lamb chops. The boneless chicken kabobs were terrible, the sides were very good, we had a curry stew that needed seasoning. The chicken kabob with bones in was on it I've had much better. I would like to try the chirachi (so?)served in the wok. They did mess up my friend's order. There is no atmosphere but it's open 24 hours. They own the middle eastern buffet place next door

I probably hadn’t eaten here in about 15 years and recently decided to give it a try again, mostly because I’ve heard how it’s regularly rated the best kabobs in the Northern VA area. It’s got a decent size dining room and a lot of folks working in the open kitchen, making kabobs, curries, and naan. The menu is nice, as it has several curries (some available as sides with the kabob entrées) and lots of kabob options. I tried the combo of Seekh and chicken, with muttor aloo and aloo saag. The chicken was tender and spiced perfectly… it tasted amazing! The spices used were great too, which is hard to do in a chicken breast kabob. The seekh kabob was equally flavorful and perfectly spiced. But the two curries I got as sides were boring and bland. I found this VERY disappointing, as they looked great and I really wanted them to match the flavors of the meats, but no luck. The naan was the worse thing though… They premake a pile of them and they grab from that pile to fulfill orders, which I watched them do for me. The naan was rubbery and slightly cool. Typically when “real naan” that’s made with the proper dough, that’s spread properly, and that’s baked in the Tandoor properly… typically that naan will crisp up as it cools and become hard. This naan was cool but turned to rubbery – horrible dough was used! Inside the restaurant was interesting… lots of absolutely silly stickers (junk like BLM, etc) all over, which they clearly let others put all over the sides of fridges in the dining room, etc. And there were several police related stickers posted, which were vandalized. The ownership needs to clean all these nasty, hateful stickers up. Overall… If in the mood for midnight (tho I went for lunch on this visit) kabobs, I’d come back. But otherwise, it’s decent, not all it’s cracked up to be though.

We had chicken kadahi which tasted like regular chicken curry with tons of oil. I found a small body hair attached to the meat and we showed it to them. The Nepali guy, after seeing it,was trying to establish that it's from the chicken. Even if it's chicken hair, it's not supposed to be there. He never said sorry and was saying that he will give it us for free if that's what we want. Us being in food service for a while, we understand how important it is to accept the mistake and say sorry to the unhappy customers at first. They don't know the basics on top of that the nepali guy was leading it to a heated conversation. The management then came forward and accepted their mistake. They apologized and brought us some food but we didn't accept it. I hope they got the message that you should never offend a customer by disregarding their complaint and disrespecting them by saying that their motive is to get the food for free. Also they should understand that customers spend heaps of money for the experience, experience is all that matters.

24 hours open 👍🏼 in the midnight 🕛 available with good price 👍🏼 Performance/cost is very high. ⬆️ Much spicy: mainly curry, be careful about your taste. Cons: hygiene is low. There are flies. A hardworking skinny host/waiter was working hard to clean every detail. But the tables were covered with yellow curry residues.

Yes five stars for food. I have traveled for a living for a long time, and have eaten lots of Middle Eastern food, I was so experience the flavors here. The rice and the chickpeas were amazing! The bread was perfectly chewy and good, and the meats so tender and delicious. Cafeteria style but so much better. Thank you Palace.

The food here is amazing. I’m not coming for fine dining or atmosphere. I’m coming here purely for food and price! We always order the chicken and lamb kabobs. Highly recommended!

Food is okay; similar to other reviews, quality has gone downhill. Chicken boneless kabob and spinach were flavorful. Rice and chickpeas are consistently watered down and tasteless. Naan is thick, rubbery, and cooked only some of the way. Try another Pakistani restaurant, such as Ravi Kabob, for a more authentic experience and quality.
