Gracious and accommodating for our adult birthday party of nine (plus baby) that showed up unannounced for dinner. Happily kept filling our baskets with Crisp and hot chips, homemade sauces. Their system of multiple servers in matching shirts was seamless and fast in attending each person's unique needs. Freshly made tortillas, Steak fajitas were cooked to perfection, tacos del Pueblo were authentic. And a rousing happy birthday with sombrero. Great atmosphere within a district spruced up for the holidays. A must return trip experience!

Everything was excellent! Great service, delicious drinks and the chimichanga was so tasty! We loved the salsas too! Perfect for enjoying a summer evening outside! We will be back again!

Hands down! One of my favorite places to come by any day of the week. That’s right! I said, Sunday-Saturday where you can enjoy good music and delicious Tex-Mexican style food. Try their celebrity-style Tomahawk steak. See pics attached. You also have got to try out their new shrimp/onion tacos with a unique light lemony-zesty sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant bc the ambiance is always popping, and the staff and waiters are very kind, and hospitable and provide outstanding service. Shout-outs to Hector aka Farid, Darlyn and Abigail for taking imitative in delivering amazing customer service.

Wow! This place was amazing! Our waitress Leila was so nice and helpful! Big thanks to her! The food was amazing, I highly recommend the birria tacos, you won’t regret it! They are very feeling, they definitely don’t skimp on the meat! Lastly, the pineapple lemonade was delicious, apparently they make them fresh daily! We will definitely be returning to Guapos! Also, big thanks to all the staff for being so helpful with our little one! We are not used to such kindness in this area!

I have gone to different locations and I continue to return to this one. The customer service was incredible, from the moment you walk in. Wilmer was the server and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food at this location is well seasoned and menu variety. The prices for the amount of food, are more than reasonable. Kudos to the staff and of course the waiter for making the experience great.

I really liked the chili rellenos here. Very cheesy and delicious. And the chips and salsa they serve at the beginning are nice. The chips and queso I ordered were good, but the queso had a bit too much of American cheese flavor for my preference. But a nice place to meet up with friends and good portion sizes too.

This restaurant can be on the noisy side but it makes up for it in the food department. The drinks are also excellent along with a great beer selection. On tap and in the bottle. The best chicken quesadilla in town along with their Express salad is a great meal. It is hard to go wrong with anything here though. Or you can come up with your own combo. I have dined here many times and never had a bad experience or a bad drink. Two types of salsa and chips that you can’t go wrong with. Guacamole at the table side is to die for. Just everything is amazing. The bar is freshly redone and much more fun with several tvs to watch as well and great bar tenders. Tip them well. They are all hard working. I tried the chicken wings, they were deep fried and I can’t recommend them.

Loved the food, I had the seafood burrito. It was packed with shrimp and a few scallops. The seafood flavor wasn't overpowering and the Cancun sauce was just right. The guacamole was spectacular with large chunks of avocado and a touch of lime. The frozen Margarita was just right.

When visiting the Arlington area for a work trip, we were looking for a simple sit down restaurant to grab some lunch before heading to the airport. There were plenty of options for indoor and outdoor dining. We choose to sit outside and we were shortly served chips and salsa and water. The servers were all very nice and our food was ready quickly. The food was served on some HUGE delicious looking plates and everything was delicious! I got the Taquitos Dorados, yum! We were definitely full by time we left! If I am in the area again, I would consider stopping by. The whole street/area around is full of other restaurant I would also like to try!

Excellent food! I went there for lunch and had carne asada, Chicken and a fish taco. Service was excellent and when I asked to take home my tortilla chips (bc they were super fresh and crispy) the server gave me a huge new bag of even fresher chips 😁

Amazing and attentive staff. Eating outside in the summer is great because of their provided shade. A great choice for Mexican food and delicious frozen margaritas. Don’t skip the Smokey salsa and chips as soon as you sit down.

Went to Guapos for the first time over the weekend..this place is a hidden gem! I’ve been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the northern VA area for a while and finally found it. The restaurant is located in the Village of Shirlington. They do not take reservations and appear to get very busy—we waited only 25 minutes for an outdoor table which wasn’t bad at all. Our waiter was extremely friendly. The food is good and the margs (skinny Agave) were awesome! The chips & salsa they bring out to start were fresh and warm, and really good. We also ordered Guac, and tacos for dinner. Great food, atmosphere, and staff—will definitely be our go-to spot for amazing margs and good Mexican!

Never disappointed with this place. The food and service is consistently good. There’s a lot of free parking within a block or two and very accessible. The setting is casual, comfortable, and clean. I love the warm salsa there and could live on it. This time I had the chicken burrito. My wife went with her tried and true chile relleno, and my son chicken enchiladas. As always, food was great.

Our waitress, Abigail, was the absolute best. So attentive and sweet. I’ve been to pricy restaurants that don’t offer as good of service. Ask to sit in her section and you will have the best time! The food was delicious. Freshly made tortillas are so good. I could eat them with everything.

I was part of a group of 5. I ordered a mango daiquiri and pollo saltado. Both were tasty. Overall service was good however i felt rushed. It appeared a larger party was coming in and they wanted our table. I noticed them grab other tables and chairs to combine. Staff came to the table multiple times to take dishes and ask if we were fine even though we were all still eating. They seemed to want to clear our space. Otherwise it was a nice meal in a nice space.

Great family atmosphere. Food was amazing. Spanish/Latin music. Homemade sauce is amazing. Plenty of warm chips. Can't stress enough the outstanding customer service provided by the server Dennis. He went above and beyond. Knowledgeable of the entire food menu and drinks. Special thanks to Chef Kevin for creating a new burrito. "Burrito Duranguense" is a must try!!

We went here on a Saturday for lunch and it was busy. Parking is readily accessible via a garage behind the restaurant and other garages in walking distance as well as street parking. We arrived just in time to be seated right away. Service was good. We got our food in a timely manner. The Chile con Queso was fresh but needed some flavor. The Birria tacos weren’t crispy enough for me but the sauce was good and even better the next day. The rice and beans were delicious. The beans were puréed. I got the trio dessert-churros, tres leches, and flan. My favorite was the tres leches. Very light tasting. The flan was creamy. The churros tasted like they were warmed up from the freezer.

Do not skip out on the queso here. It is worth the extra cost and honestly is the best food available. Atmosphere seems awesome but the food and salsa was a little disappointing. Might just be a personal preference, but it could has been better. We were there when it was busy so the service was extremely slow. The three stars is for the atmosphere, the willingness to fill up the salsa and chips as much as we wanted, and the queso. Would maybe come back.

Had a great dinner today. Food was delicious. I loved their sauce they bring with the tortilla chips. Fajita was on point, its steak was cooked really well. Definitely will be visiting this location again.

Tried Guapo’s for the first time this weekend. We arrived around 5:30 PM Friday and were seated right away even though they were already getting busy. The chips come with a fresh-tasting pico de gallo and a smoky salsa. Neither was very spicy, but both were delicious. I ordered a Paloma and the pescado tacos and my husband got a margarita and the steak fajitas. The steak comes intact rather than cut into strips which was my husband’s only minor complaint. Otherwise the meal was very good and the ambiance is super fun and lively. By the time we left, there was a line out the door.

Busy Friday night. Waited a few minutes for a table of four. Staff was quick and drinks were fast. The pulled pork was wonderful. Food was great.

Shared on another post, great food, young bartender wasn't to swift on a Chilled Crown Shot -- more of a Slushie, and really watered down. Otherwise, we go here often because it's that good.

Guapo's is a wonderful Mexican Restaurant in the heart of Shirlington! The atmosphere is always vibrant and full of energy. Outdoor dining as well as indoor dining is available. Food us plentiful, full of flavor, always consistent, and reasonably priced. The staff is fast and courteous.

We were greeted and seated immediately. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. I ordered the Carne asada fajita and got a huge slab of carne asada with tortilla, beans, and rice. I wasn't a fan of the margaritas. I like that they were given to us fast because they were pre-made, but they didn't taste as appetizing.

Been wanting to try this place from all the great things I’ve heard and it did not disappoint! Their fajitas are amazing, and the quail was a perfectly cooked poultry dish with tender and succulent meat. Great thicccc queso dip and most importantly, marvelous margaritas

I just finished having lunch at Guapo’s and I have mixed feelings. The food has been updated to meet the local culture and tastes. Overall I found the meal a bit bland but good. I order the Guapo’s Combination platter that consisted of a beef enchilada, chicken taco, and pork tamale along with rice and beans. I can say the rice and beans were underwhelming but everything else was good, but not great. I recommend adding salt to just about everything along with some hot sauce :). I will eat here again just to try different things on the menu.

(Ordered through uber eats) Purchased a chicken fajita which is always so delicious but as I was playing it I noticed an uncooked piece of meat. I called about 3 times but each time was met with no clear response. I went to the store and the manager on duty said there was no possible was that could’ve been from them. Why would I order my food through uber eats put a piece of raw chicken then drive all the way over there to complain? He gave me two free desserts as if that was any consolation for getting food poisoning? Emailed them and no response. 0/5
