Good value of money with a nice room without any complaints. The staff are always friendly. You can have the self service of amenities, slippers and pajama at ground floor at anytime which is really nice. 8minutes walk to Ueno station and 2minutes walk to the nearest convenient store.

Location is convenient. But be aware of cockroaches! Found one in the bathroom. Reported to the front desk but was told it may be from outside. What does that mean? It appeared in my room and its origin didn’t matter. Really disappointed with the cleanliness and how the hotel handled it

We really liked our stay and would definitely stay here again. Safe area but not that many interesting restaurants. But it was so great to be near Ueno station! So convenient!!!! The room itself was nice. You can pick up slippers and face wash from the lobby. We went in June so Tokyo was hot and humid and you cant put the temperature in hotel below a certain temperature so that was hard for us as we like things colder. Beds were comfortable and we were not bothered by the neighborhood noise. Housekeeping came every day for the trash and I think every 3rd for the sheets. Only one elevator so sometimes a little bit of a wait. One of my favorite things was the girls at the front desk. The sweetest and most helpful people!!! The best front desk of any hotel I have ever stayed at! Will look into using this chain elsewhere in Japan too.

The apartment is spacious with all-you-need kitchen-ware. Staff are friendly and helpful, able to support multiple languages. Close to Ueno station, supermarket and convenient stores. Very quiet at night for quality sleep.

We spent 6 nights with Mimaru Ueno East in a family suite room. It was rather small compared to Mimaru in Osaka. The bed configuration is 2 single beds and a bunk bed. It was great for us as a family of four. However the laundry located at level 1 was not that good. As we had to buy laundry detergent to wash our clothes abd their dryers are not functioning well. Clothes were still damp after using their dryer. Customer service at their front desk were great and welcoming. Location is very good as it’s very near to JR Ueno. Plenty of convenience stores.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Had the privilege to stay in the Pokemon Room and we loved the atmosphere and super cute Pokemon on the walls, highly recommend The room comes with 4 beds, all in the same area, kitchen with small stove, fridge and freezer. Large toilet and shower area with a small/medium bath (6ft 4" partner tried the bath and he was able to squeeze in uncomfortably)

The location was great and quiet, the room was clean, and the amenities were unlimited. The staff was helpful, the bedding was soft, and the air conditioning was cool, which made for a restful sleep. The room was packed with various kitchen instruments, giving it a service apartment feel. Overall, I immensely enjoyed my stay.

We only stayed here for 2 nights but I thought the room was a bit small compared to other Mimaru accommodation we have stayed in (Mimaru Ueno North and Mimaru Osaka Namba North). Other than that the service and location made up for the room.

The Mimaru hotels are perfect for trips to Tokyo with family. Convenient, clean, and roomy. The staff at this location is so sweet and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay!

Family trip, stayed in Pokemon room, my kids were blown away when walking into the room as they expected a normal room. Beds are firm but comfortable. Clean, private, great service, nice bath products, 4 beds, tub, kitchen, lacked drawers or shelves but ample size closet. Go out ueno train station via iriya exit to left, then first right down alley/street two blocks to hotel to avoid outside heat / rain (Google maps didn't load right away). Seems food in area is best for breakfast and lunch, dinner ok. Normal road noise during day is not bothersome, at times load motorcycles and occasionally cars with loud motors, pipes after rush hour but after 10 quiet (home for us has much more of this and way later, so not an issue). Ueno is relaxing area with park and museums and office buildings, so normal commuters for business hours. Staff is helpful and multi lingual. 711 a block away for ATM, beer, soda, ice cream. Water from tap tasted good.

I had a very pleasant stay at Mimaru Tokyo Ueno East ! The staff was very helpful and gave us a very clear construction plus they can speak English fluently so we have no trouble communicating at all The room is friendly for family or whoever that has big luggage and need a space The location is great too, like 5 minutes walk to Ueno station and the restaurants area

This had to be our favourite hotel from our trip all over Japan. From first entry the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They also spoke English really well. We stayed in a family room with 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds. The beds were very comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean. It was also so handy to have a little kitchen with hotplate, microwave, kettle, fridge, freezer and kitchen sink. We loved having a dining room table too to share meals at. The air-conditioning worked well. The room was very quiet and we didn't hear any noises from other rooms or outside. One of our favourite things to do was to go onto the rooftop at night to see all the lights. There's an amazing view of Tokyo Skytree too. This hotel has laundry facilities too which was very handy. Hotel staff helped us select some real local gem restaurants. We loved how close it was to Ueno Station and the Keisei Skyliner station. Highly recommend.

Very helpful frontdesk staff with compassion and understanding. I had a family emergency and need to fly back home, the staff was accommodating and offer help to me to get to the airport. Thank you so much.

Decent value for the price paid. Room is spacy and comfy. Location is 5mins walk from the station. The air-conditioning was abit faulty during my stay, thus the 4 stars.

Spacy room with various room types fit different group sizes, appeared to be recently built during pandemic. We stayed at the 4 twin-bed one for 5 nights, got 1 stay-clean (throughout housekeeping and bed making) on the 4th day. Friendly customer services and staff all understand English quite well. Decent price at convenient location.

Beautiful location a short walk from a major train station allowing easy access to all of Tokyo. The rooms have kitchen areas with fridge, microwave, and induction heating burners. I wish the rooms had more storage space though. Room service was hit or miss. If anything was left on the beds they would not make any of them. Other than that it was a pleasant extended stay.

My daughter and I visit from 4/22/22-4/24/22. We enjoyed our stay. The safe was very friendly, and the room was beautiful. Also, they gave me an early Mother's Day gift. Our overall experience was GREAT.

Spacious and comfy room for family travelling with children. A bit far from ameyoko market.

Very friendly reception, close to Ueno station (easy connections to everywhere in the city). We had asked for a quiet room and it was remarkably quiet compared to the busy neighborhood. Very large rooms with kitchen. Good beds and a beautiful roof terrace. Value for money really a must in Tokyo.

Great hotel. Location can't be beat. Near Ueno Station and tons of food and places to shop nearby. Staff has been really amazing. Cant recommend enough. We are staying here with a family of 5 and we are comfortable since the room is so spacious. Love that we have a kitchen. Thanks for making our trip to Tokyo perfect.

Stayed for 5 days with the kids. Friendly, helpful english speaking staff. Very good location close to ueno station and a lot of dining options. We liked the size of the room, its a good size for family. Only challenge was the cleaning schedule if you're used to a hotel it can take a bit of getting used to. Overall a good experience. I would recommend and stay again if I'm in the area.

This place is an apartment style hotel. They do not make your room every day, but do empty the garbage daily. The front desk is very nice and helpful, and is staffed from around 7a to 10p, but not overnight. The front desk also offers free rental of various cooking and game items. The room was large and had a dining table and small kitchenette area with large refrigerator, stove and sink. The closet was sized for about 4 standard luggage bags. The Ueno area seemed less busy compared to our stay in Shinjuku, but had convince stores and the station was easily accessible.

Great hotel for family or friends! We booked the quadruple room and really enjoyed the room. First off, we were amazed by the size of the room. It is decently sized with a rather big living area in Japanese standard. The shower was great with good water pressure. You would need to walk slightly less than 10 mins to reach the Ueno station but it is still quite convenient.

We enjoyed a great stay over Father’s Day weekend. Staff was very helpful and made sure we were set up for our stay. We had our wire hair terrier with us. There was a wire crate and bowls for him. We thought that was really cool. I like that we were able to come and go as we wished. The staff were always friendly. We weren’t bothered by anyone. Very peaceful stay. I recommend this hotel if you want a peaceful stay, no one bugging you, close access to local areas and a great property. Edit to add cool roof top access and an awesome shower/bath room.

Very close to train station. Convenience, cozy, clean and homey. It's a little bit noisy if your room level with elevated road. Anyway, I love this hotel :)
