Lovely Sunday lunch for 3 people, thank you. The food was always excellent in the market hall and I'm pleased to say that nothing has changed. The setting of drapers is lovely and the service is getting there for what the evening restaurant is looking towards. So the lunch menu may be one of two more expensive than in its previous form but now you have tables where shoppers aren't barging past to get to the butchers, i don't mind paying this. We look forward to seeing you again guys.

Exceptional Sunday roast. Itโ€™s wonderful to be dining again in this wonderful room. Food and presentation were spot on. The staff were really friendly and keen to please. Canโ€™t wait to try a Saturday night.

This gem of a hotel was a perfect find. Quirky beautiful rooms, comfortable, spotless and we had a wonderful host. We were made to feel extremely welcome. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked to order. Highly recommend the avocado and whipped feta on sourdough. However, many other options to choose from. We booked two rooms and were delighted. A very comfortable stay and we will definitely be back.

An late change of plan saw us book the Drapers Hall on the day of arrival for two nights, without really knowing what to expect. But what we didn't really expect was a place so welcoming, with such wonderful character, history and style, together with a host, Miriam, who greeted us with genuine warmth and charm. Drapers Hall really is a lovely place to stay. We were immediately delighted with our choice of where to stay in Shrewsbury, with cosy rooms and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff all helpful and smiling. The bar in the evening was very nice, well stocked and even had a local real ale on draft. The location of Drapers Hall is perfect for exploring the historic town of Shrewsbury and we highly recommend it.

Called in to escape a very busy town centre. A haven of calm, and fantastic food. A very relaxed unhurried lunch, with excellent service.

I have been fortunate in my life to experience many beautiful and excellent brassieres in my life but there are no places in Shrewsbury worthy of charging ยฃ18.50 for a glass of wine and a pint of lagerโ€ฆ!

Went here for a bday lunch and the service was poor. It took 15 mins for drinks, 20 mins for starters and 30 mins for mains. We asked to speak to the manager who was rude and confrontational. We discussed the issues we had with timing and the manager made excuses and said they were not โ€˜fast foodโ€™. Such a shame because a simple apology would have gone a long way and for a small business that has expanded, customer service is so important. It was empty at lunch time (despite this being used as an excuse for slow service) and I wonder if others may have experienced the same. I would not recommend.

The service and location are excellent. There's very little to dislike about the food (apart from the terribly scrapy plates!) My major quibble is the price which I felt is too much for what you get, particularly the wine. HArd to fault in many ways but excellent Sunday lunches are available at a more competitive price in the area.

We stayed here only one night and had dinner as well. Host offered us a room upgrade as she noticed our big suit cases. Lovely room! Even though we were told it was up for renovation, it was still perfectly fine. Good shower, large living space and comfy clean beds. Food was okay, but a bit high priced for the portions. Beautiful restaurant area. Historical place in the middle of the city (still very quiet in the room). Dining and even breakfast was a bit to formal to our taste. We love a laugh and be ourselves. Still an overall great stay ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Lovely friendly staff, great food and a roaring log fire to greet us. A two minute walk into town to experience a variety of independent shops to suit all tastes. Comfortable bed, a lovely light room and room to sit and read. The extraordinary dining room is something to behold, you almost expect to see Nearly Headless Nick float by. We look forward to returning.

Asked if the Ribeye steak we ordered came with a sauce or if not could we order a sauce. The waitress needed to go enquire for an answer. The advice was that 2 sauces are available 1 โ€˜salad creamโ€™ or 2 Ketchup. Enough said. The steak and chips were nicely cooked but we probably wont go back there. Sad for us because it was a fav place to eat over the years.

We hadn't booked but it was my 60th birthday so we tried our luck! Not disappointed. We shared a starter of beetroot & creme fraiche hummus. My husband had beef cheek, whilst I had rabbit & tomato ragu. We ended with apple & cinnamon crumble and blackberry & almond tart with clotted cream ice-cream. All delicious.

Had a delightful meal here midday. Ordered 3 small plates to share for a starter, each one absolutely delicious and the fish of the day as a main, which also was so flavourful. The wine was beautiful too. Would highly recommend.

Have eaten at the Drapers Hall a few times over the years. Itโ€™s always been ok. Itโ€™s been taken over since the last time we were here and itโ€™s tremendous. We had a really good Sunday lunch great beef and unusually a roasted loin of Salmon which was excellent. Highly recommended.

Stunning medieval hall to stop for lunch to celebrate our friends' 60th Birthday๐Ÿพ. Made to feel very welcome in the warm, atmospheric setting full of history and charm; lovely, attentive staff. The service was wonderful and the food plentiful, presented beautifully, and absolutely delicious at a ridiculous price for the quality. Wish we all had a Rhubab at Drapers. Thankyou for the candles ๐Ÿฅ‚๐ŸŽ‚

Good few, nicely prepared and beautifully prepared in lovely surroundings. Will certainly go again. For an extra star, I might have expected just a little bit more but, other than that, it was good

Enjoyed lovely Sunday lunch. Food fantastic, as was atmosphere and service. Spoilt only by a yapping dog - perhaps the place should review their policy of allowing dogs into the bar area. One of them emitted a regular high pitched โ€œyapโ€ which made everyone jump! Apart from that, everything was wonderful. Food perfectly cooked. Would definitely return.

Popped in for a glass of wine. Very classy place. Will definitely return for a meal. Edit - had an over night stay last night. The room was great, very clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. Little bit quirky due to the nature of the building which is very old and full of history. Comes with a breakfast which consisted of a few buffet items plus a menu for the hot food. Very nice.

The food was cooked to perfection, and the service was excellent and fast. This restaurant is also situated in a beautiful historical building, the interior of which is largely still preserved.

Wonderful ambience in this historic building. Imaginative menu of fascinating and perfectly executed dishes. Made to feel welcome by owner and staff. I can't fault this place. My favourite restaurant from now on.

Weaved our stay in this historic building in the heart of Shrewsbury. The building is historical with all the charms that come with it. The reception, breakfast and service were wonderful. There is no lift and the stairs are a little wonky, but that added to the charm. Would stay again!
