This is a very important road connecting Kanpur-Lucknow which is becoming dilapidated . By this route people leave directly for Agra, Delhi without taking entry in Kanpur. The old Ganga bridge was commissioned in 1975 (48 yrs). Before that, heavy and light vehicles used to go towards Lucknow via Unnao via Shuklaganj's old bridge. Repairs were made in 2009 and again last year but the bridge collapsed again. The ganga bridge has completed its full life cycle 48 years. Still small renovation are done. It's high time new bridge should be constructed adjacent to it. Since the traffic has increased leading to traffic jams, accidents etc on the bridge. No big decision has been taken by any government till date.
