Bhagsunath Temple, Kangra A medieval shrine, Bhagsunath is Shiva Temple situated about 3kms from Mcleodganj. The temple has been highly revered by the Hindus and the Gorkha Community. The sacred shrine is famed for its two pools that are believed to have healing properties. The best time to visit Bhagsunath Temple is during the annual fair that takes place here in the month of September. The Dal Lake, Kotwali Bazaar and Bhagsu Fall are the main attractions around this holy shrine. History:The legend has that King Bhagsu built this temple after seeking forgiveness from Snake God. It is believed that Nag Devta was raged in anger as King Bhagsu stole water from the sacred Nag Dal Lake here. Later, the king repented and built the temple in reverence to Nag Devta. According to another legend, this shrine was the patronage of a specific Gorkha community called Bhagsuwala (after the God Bhagsunag). It is also believed that these rulers built the two pools of water here with tiger-head spouts. A double-story wooden house for pilgrims was also built by them.

Very old and beautiful temple. Steps are a bit steep. Well maintained and kept clean. There is a market nearby and swimming pool in front of it. Dirt road to get to Bhagsu Nag Waterfall starts after this temple. There is seating area outside the temple by the side of swimming pool with couple of street food joints to enjoy your evening snacks and tea.

Bhagsunath Temple in Dharamshala is a peaceful and beautiful place. Surrounded by hills, it has an ancient feel. Whether you're there to pray or just enjoy the atmosphere, it's a serene spot. The mix of culture and nature makes it a must-visit in Dharamshala.

Awesome experience. Dip your hands and legs immersed. Chilled water. Did not see anybody jumping into the pool. Accumulated water at the other end had moss and could be dangerous. The temple itself has a very serene atmosphere dedicated to Lord Shiva, Snake God's, Shani Dev, Devi Maa, Lord Ganesh and Bhakt Shiromani Hanuman! From here there is an uphill trek towards Bhagsu Waterfall. Not much water now though due to reduced rains. Check before you venture. Lot of eateries nearby... You can spend 1-2 hours here. An auto from Mcleodganj rickshaw stand costs 70 bucks, Return you can easily walk down. Not more than 20 minutes.

A very beautiful temple just 10 mins from the main market of Mcleodganj. Lovely architecture and very well maintained. The temple was so clean. Many food joints are also there outside the temple. A small trek of 30 mins to Bhagsu Nath Waterfall starts from here.

Located at Mcleodganj, close to the bus stand and parking area, 1km from the famous dalai lama temple, also can see a waterfall which is nearby. Entry free. With Lot of eateries and shopping point of Mcleod ganj. Dalai lama temple is one kilometer away. Nice place and with very little crowd you can have darshan almost immediately.

temple Temple is near to Macloadganj, just 10 minutes drive. Parking is big issue. Totally mismanagement. Temple is said to be very old and built by Army. People do take dip in flowing stream nearby and go further trekking to Bhagsu waterfall. Situated in the mid of street need to walk a while . Lots of street vendors

Great Temple situated near the Waterfall, it’s only a 3min walk from the main Bhagsunag market. You can start your trek to the waterfall from here. There are shops on the way to buy and collect souvenir or gifts. You can get Fridge Magnets for Triund Trek and Dharamshala.

It was not worth the hype. The temple is small. Not managed well.Pandit ji was there but special puja are not done fyi. The only good part was the clean pool adjacent to it. Surprisingly many people are using it. Overall not worth a visit to this place ,but we were here for 5 days so had some spare time. The waterfall can hardly be called so and nothing great about it. After the Triund trek this was a disappointing trek. Takes 30 mins to climb up from the temple to the waterfall . There is zip lining too in case that interests.

The waterfalls are a wonderful trek. The temple is okay. We loved the trek to Shiva Cafe. The market here is much better than the actual market yard. You may find stuff slightly cheaper than the Mall Road or Markety road.

At a distance of 2 km from McLeod Ganj Bus Stand & 6 km from Dharamshala, Bhagsu Nag Temple also known as Bhagsunath Temple is one of the popular ancient temples located in McLeod Ganj. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the local deity Bhagsu Nag. Bhagsu Nag Mandir is an ancient temple believed to have been built by King Bhagsu from Rajasthan. The present Bhagsu Nag temple was constructed by 1st Gurkha Rifles in early 19th century and worshipped majorly by 14 Gurkha platoon villages in Dharamshala. Adjacent to the temple building are a series of pools where Buddhist monks and visitors enjoy baths. An annual fair is conducted in the month of September at this temple which attracts tourist from the entire region. This temple is situated on the way to Bhagsunag Waterfall.
