Before visiting Siena, we knew that Siena was a rich small independent republic, developed even before Florence. We knew they have a great cathedral. But we were astonished when we saw it. Both exterior and interior are super elegant. On the floor are so many colorful engraving paintings, many of them are bible stories. It’s really impressive. We bought combined tickets for cathedral, church museum and the library.

Must see. We bought tickets on site. Most impressive is the "Gate Of Heaven" tour up to the cathedral roof and dome. We were lucky we got the 18.30 ticket (last group of the day). We were at the ticket office at 15.30. Pre-order tickets, albeit the late tickets with the setting sun light create an even more spectacular views. There is plenty to do around Siena and 3h will pass like nothing. The Museum offers a panoramic view of the cathedral. All inclusive ticket available for 20€/person. Worth it. I recommend it.

A must see. An art treasure. Siena Cathedral rising majestically in the eponymous city square, is one of Italy's most illustrious Romanesque and Gothic cathedrals. The Cathedral contains numerous masterpieces from every age but its marble mosaic inlay and graffito floor is in many ways its most prized possession.

Absolutely stunning cathedral in Siena. Impressive is not just the black and white building, but also the floors. The queue can be quite long. If you want to visit the viewpoint, you need to buy the highest ticket category which also includes the museum. For the viewpoint, there's an extra waiting line up to one hour in the museum. The museum itself is interesting and worth a visit. The cheapest ticket category only includes the cathedral without baptistery and museum.

One of the most unique and beautiful cathedrals in Italy. It’s known for it’s stunning dark green (looks black) and white marble. You need to purchase tickets to enter-unless you are going for mass. Mass is free. I recommend a skip the line pass so you can walk right in if it’s busy. I have seen a lot of cathedrals and this is right up there with St. Peters Basilica (Vatican).

I find it so beautiful outside but I ddnt went inside so I don't have idea how UT looks like . I think this is one of the most beautiful church in Europe in outside look. We visited this on May but it was raining for 2 days.

No matter how many times I visit, I'm always enchanted by it's complexity of marble carving, by its interwoven 4 styles of architecture that make it unique, by the master artists that embilished the inside... Pisano, Raffaelo, Botticelli, Donatello, Michelangelo and Vasari who designed the dome frescoes.

Gorgeous place. From Florence you can only access it by 1hr direct bus then walk for 15m. To see it in entirety you must pay €20, so it's more like museum than church

Beautiful Siena Cathedral, full of great stories of the past, pay before you enter, it can get full inside during weekends and holidays too. It’s a beautiful town with great history and richly restored.

The most beautiful cathedral in Italy! The interior especially took my breath away due to the high ceilings, marble mosaics on the floor, black and white marble columns and the ornate carvings. The ceiling in the library is breathtaking as well. If you purchase a ticket via GetYourGuide, you must line up on the LEFT side of the cathedral to exchange your pass for a real ticket. Then you will have skip the line access into the cathedral.

The Siena Cathedral is the most notable of all the tourist attractions. A masterpiece of Italian Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Visit this massive 12th-century marvel for a great start to your holiday in Italy. A masterpiece in storytelling, the floor has about 56 inlaid marble panels supplied by 40 leading artists of the age that represents sibyls, scenes, and allegories from the Old Testament. The completion of these designs took over six centuries! The works of Italian greats such as Donatello, Bernini and Michelangelo are also featured here, among other artists. ticket 5€

A very unique and beautiful church, the most impressive in Siena. It's not too far from the main plaza. The outside is gorgeous and the Vatican inside is a pleasant surprise. There are cool busts of the Popes around the inside of the cathedral. Nice visit!

This is probably the most unique cathedral I have ever seen. The outside is stunning, and I highly suggest purchasing tickets to see the interior. The floor is lined with beautiful stone carvings that you can walk around. Although it is definitely a touristy area, there isn’t too much wait. A great attraction in Siena.

Beautiful! Great to see the old building standing tall in the center of Siena. One side has a café outside where you can admire the architecture, the other side is facing a wide open square. It is definitely worth it to see the inside, too. In the holiday time you will have to wait a while in queue though.

I have seen a lot of cathedrals and churches through the years and there are few that really stands out but Duomo Di Siena is truly an exception. Incredible details both outside and from roof to ceiling inside. Definitely worth a visit.

Easily one if the most beautiful buildings in Siena and one of the better cathedrals to visit. The interior is ornate and enormous. The attached museum is a must visit to truly appreciate Renaissance era Siena and the power this cathedral commanded. Tickets to enter are located just in front of the Cathedral.

Probably the most beautiful cathedral I've ever seen from inside. Every section was detailed and stunning. Don't miss the library. Outside also it was absolutely stunning. It really is something to see. Keep atleast 1-2 hours to explore it. Worth taking a day trip to siena from Florence to see it.

Magical place! Very beautiful and worth visiting at least once in your life! Take a floor tour to guide you through the richness of art and contribution that has been done to this place.

Beautiful Duomo! The painted hymnals and the floor mosaics are a must see!

Simply unbelievable! This Renaissance cathedral is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world, and a must for all Siena tourists interested in culture. Not only can you admire it from the outside, the entrance fee is also worth it to see the inside. In this cathedral, not only the dome or the altars are artistically decorated, but also the floor is a work of art in itself. If you want to see the interior from above, you have to buy the additional ticket for the Gates of Heaven.

A beautfiul piece of art. We usually don't enter such attractions but this kne was worth it! A definite must see! Beautfiul interiors which speak for themselves so I won't go on that here. I would recommend buying a ticket online to skip the queue - better do that at least two days ahead otherwise you may not be able to! Queue to the catedral goes rather fast, to the ticket center a bit slower.

Impressive and absolutely beautiful! Definitely worth a visit! The floor carvings were all visible, which we understand happens only 8-10 weeks a year The cue was very short and the green pass necessary to enter

Duomo di Siena is among the most visited sites in the region. Every square inch is richly detailed; inside out. Loved the contrast in color and design between the interior and exterior and the work with the black mármol inside.

The cathedral is a Gothic masterpiece. Take a few hours to see it properly and don't miss the beautiful floors and the room with old music books/manuscripts.

This place is astonishing. The level of detail of every square centimeter is just marvelous. This is located in a big open space we're you can appreciate it. The only problem of the Chappell is that it is located in the middle and because of the amount of buildings very close to the sides, it is hard to see in detail. Not sure if you can climb the tower to appreciate it better.

Try to get your tickets in advance. We tried visiting close to 4PM and there was still a queue for it. Only downside to booking online is the timed-entry that you'll need to adhere to. We visited when the floor mosaics were uncovered so that really enriched our visit. Be sure to also visit the Duomo Museum for stunning views of the city.

A very beautiful cathedral. The marble paintings in the floor are very worth seeing, although you have to know your way around to understand them. The entire cathedral, like many churches in Italy, is done in a zebra look, black and white everywhere. Here especially a lot, as the colors of the city are also black and white. There is still such a side room, which you should look at the end, because the rest seems ugly after that, it is also quite nice. But never forget to cover your shoulders and legs, or you'll be in trouble. Even though most of the statues are more than lightly dressed. There the Italians are consistent. A visit is worthwhile if you like churches.

It’s been a few months but forever in my heart. It was absolutely fabulous! Real time masses held. That’s the time they would limit visitors. Either go in to join the mass for free or wait outside for your timed entry.

Gorgeous monument with great historical value. Beautiful to look at and study about. The 8€ ticket to just the Dome is worth it. Even if you don’t go to the library or the Porta del Cielo. Very well worth the visit no matter how mainstream it seems. I would go back any time, even the next day I just been. Make sure to read up about the arts or listen to the audio guides.
