Wifey and I stumbled on this place as we walked to the city. We were the first customers for dinner time. Staff were extremely professional and all speaks English very well. We did no research on this prior and accordingly had no idea what the price range would be. They provided us their a3 sized menu (in my mind I was thinking holy molly) but was reasonably priced. We ordered 3 dishes (truffle themed) as per the photos and the favorite was the pasta, buttery and simple, complimenting the truffle. The main course being the beef cooked three ways was also very satisfying. We ordered their cheese platter which showcased the cheese offered in the region, including a hard truffle cheese. It did not disappoint! On a side note they were very generous with their truffles unlike in Melbourne! Overall atmosphere was very romantic with great views, perfect score for service and food was very nice. Highly recommend this place!

A fine dinner place with a great setting and beautiful view over Siena. We had an amazing 5-course truffle menu, which was tasty and sophisticated. All plats were great, except risotto, which was too sweet to me (personal taste). Highly recommend this place for fine dinner lovers.

This was such a delightful evening we had at Ristorante Tar-Tufo. We had the risotto and the beef, along with some desserts. Everything was thoughtfully and delicately prepared - and of course incredibly tasty. The server took time to explain each dish in detail from the ingredients to preparation method.

Awesome experience. Good service. Good help. Nice and awesome winemenu going well along with the truffles menu v They do not spare on fresh Truffle put freshly over your meal in front of your eyes. Also the quality of the truffle is awesome. Fresh and intense taste. Always again.

Very friendly staff, but unfortunately the food was not amazing. I really wanted to love it because the dishes looked so beautiful, but it just wasn’t as flavorful or as delicious as other things we ate in and around Siena. The pacing of the dishes was also extremely slow (at least 30 minutes between each dish), which we didn’t love because we were starving and the portions were so small.

More bark than bite. This restaurant dressed up highly mediocre food with artfully presented miniature portions; the shaved truffle added table-side helped, but didn’t make up for the generally lackluster dishes (case in point: an $18 mostly raw carrot with some goat cheese). We left snacking on bread sticks and hoping for late night pizza in the square. While it looks the part and the menu is promising, this place is a pass if flavor is your priority.

Overall a very poor experience. The waitress was very nice but we had to wait twenty minutes to order drinks. In the meantime, they brought us a couvert and small glass of champagne apologizing for the wait. We thought this was a nice gesture but then they charged us for it. The food was average. The main course scallops were the size of a small starter.

Amazing reataurant with a fabulous tasting menu. The first two dishes of the 5 course truffle tasting menu were the lowest of my choices, but honestly, they were delicious. The chef knows what he is doing. The service is not michelin level, but the food and wine pairings were amazing. Highly recommend if you are looking for a bit nicer of a dinner while in Siena. For the price worth every penny.

Tried the 9 course truffle menu, we really liked the tagliolini and three variations of meat. For some dishes truffle wasn't adding much depth although the food was enjoyable. Too bad for the service, our waiter was somewhat unfriendly and wasn't bothered explaining the dishes. All in all good experience.

Amazing food! Very pricey but totally worth it! Their wild boar risotto was the big kicker dish! 10/10 would recomend!

An excellent fine dining experience, with great service and delicious food. We chose the a la Carte menu, which still has a superb use of the truffle, so we didn't feel like we missed out not going for the tasting menu. The wine was a suggestion from the server and it was perfect. Everything was delicious but the standouts were the octopus and the risotto, do not skip those!

We came here for a lunch, the regional 5 course tasting menu with the 3 glasses of wine pairing (white wine). We thought this was a very creative, thoughtful, intelligent, and sometimes playful take on the local dishes to this area. The presentation of the dishes were beautiful and artistic, and the flavours were both delicious and surprising in equal measure. We loved seeing the chef pop outside to pick freshly from where the herbs were growing when preparing our dishes. The service was excellent and attentive, we learnt a lot about the tradition of the dishes and the food and wine from the local regions. Would absolutely recommend this place.

Excellent truffle tasting menu, the risotto cooked in apple juice was delicious, top marks for that.

I loved this place the food is definitely 5 stars. Top some of Michelin starred places I ate at, including a 3 star one. But above all the service was exceptional. I would give an extra star for the kind, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly service. A must, even if you are not in Siena. One word: go!

Had an amazing dinner and the host was super friendly. We were with 2 children (6 and 8 years old) and the Chef prepared specially a dish for them. All dishes were absolutely delicious so really recommend to visit.

I was looking forward to experiencing this restaurant but it fell flat. First, we were told the only reservation that was available on the busy Easter weekend was 7:30 pm. It’s now 9:30 and the restaurant is empty. Second, the food is overly gourmet and not satisfying in quantity nor taste. Very unimpressed. Lastly, despite being empty, my dirty dishes are still sitting in front of me and I have yet to be offered dessert. I’m leaving disappointed and still a bit hungry. There is a reason this restaurant is empty on a busy holiday weekend. Avoid it!!!

Loved the ambiance and the service here. The truffle pasta is easily one of the best I’ve had in Italy. You can’t miss it

Truly magnificent dining experience, fantastic food with carefully chosen high quality products, fantastic food selection, and top service! This spot should be definitely featured in a Michelin Guide (at least)!

Superb looking place, service was sublime and friendly. Truffle is not overdone but is present in most dishes. The ingredients were fresh and every dish was extremely well balanced and tasteful. Wide wine selection to fit any budget and the sommelier is very knowledgeable for pairings. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again, gem in Siena.

Very very nice location, very nice people and great dining experience. We had Tagliatelle with Porcini and Tartufo, and three variations of special Tuscany beef. Fantastic! Thank you very much for hosting this perfect dinner for us tonight.

Amazing food. Simply put, the best one I had in my life. Food was only matched by the service, which was outstanding. Girls took all the time in the world to carefully explain us all about the dishes and the truffles origin. Will be coming back as many times as I come back to Siena.

Delicious food, super friendly people and great wine. The staff even gave us some tips for visiting a few vineyards where we can taste and buy local wines. Definitely recommended to pay a visit when exploring Siena!

What a fantastic sophisticated experience. The truffle pasta, probably my best ever. Great ambiance and staff.

If you go to a place named TARTUFO, you expect to find even truffle flavoured water instead of just some truffle grated here and there. The place itself is pretty, nice atmosphere and good staff, but the food is definitely underwhelming. I mean, food very well presented, but where is the flavour? We started with a slow cooked pheasant breast which was good and gave us high hopes for the following "tagliolini al tartufo" and "cappelletti ripieni di ricotta". The former, overcooked, no taste (luckily the waitress grated a whole ball of truffle on it). The latter, not much more than some fresh pasta with ricotta filling bought at the supermarket. And, do we want to talk about the 9 euros for a glass of wine for which the bottle could be easily found for less than 20 euros? Ok being fancy, but that was definitely overdoing it. Not everyone is a tourist, some people know the value of the food they are eating! Two stars for food presentation and place, zero stars for quality/price. Not worth the visit.

We went at Tar-Tufo for lunch. The restaurant is under a boutique hotel in a relatively isolated building with a beautiful view of Siena and the surrounding woodland. The waitress that served us was extremely competent and knowledgeable. We went for the seven course truffle tasting menu, the full course takes a bit less than three hours, each course is by itself amazing. The intervals between each gives you enough time to enjoy the tasting from start to finish. My boyfriend also got the three chalices wine tasting and was amazed by the choices given. When we will return to Siena we will surely come back here.
