Terrific hotel very handy for Siena. Parking available. Lovely clean rooms and the reception were terrific. Shout out to Alessi who was very nice and helpful. The bar upstairs had beautiful views across the country side. However the bar man was having real issues with his electronic cash till and the wifi was very slow, Probably the extreme heat and electrical storms, Had a lovely glass of Brunello at the bar. Breakfast was usual fare and ok. Coffee machine was not the best.and no fresh juice . But there was fruit and nice pastries etc and service was friendly enough. Seemed very popular with Americans who were enjoying their visit to Europe. Would recommend and revisit.

The first dinner; It took 40 minutes !??! for the order to be taken, even though we got a drink...;) We waited patiently because at least we drank a good wine!!;) Unfortunately the dinner was a disappointment…. The next day everything was fine, as if the "kitchen" had been replaced!;) ….. and on the third day the kitchen is again negative . But, clean room, nice staff, great view during "dinner"! Good luck!;)

Pros: Convenient Location: The hotel is ideally situated within a 10-15 minute walk of the city center, attractions, and restaurants. Polite Breakfast Service: The breakfast service staff is polite, although the breakfast itself may not be worth it. Clean Room: The rooms meet cleanliness standards. Cons: Unwelcoming Check-In: The check-in experience was marred by the unfriendly and discourteous behavior of the reception staff. Dog Policy Communication: The hotel's policy regarding dogs was conveyed in a less-than-professional manner. When asked about a doctor, I was suggested to go to the emergency room. I found my own private doctor online for a minor infection that did not require emergency service. Room Upgrade Needed: There is black mold on the bathtub seals, negatively impacting overall cleanliness and comfort. Front Desk Assistance: The front desk staff exhibited a lack of responsiveness and warmth, offering unhelpful advice when asked for assistance. They did not proactively provide help with luggage, and we were not informed about the availability of an elevator from the garage; as a result, we had to carry our luggage up the stairs, and they simply watched. Value Perception: The overall experience did not align with the expected value for the money spent. Suggestions for Improvement: Implement comprehensive training for concierge staff to enhance professionalism and guest satisfaction at the front desk. Consider cross-training front desk staff with housekeeping or breakfast service personnel, known for their courtesy and guest-oriented approach. When guests inquire about a doctor, provide a more suitable response than suggesting the emergency room, offering guidance or recommendations for non-emergency medical issues.

Ciao~ Hello. I visited Siena in early September. I found a hotel that is convenient to park because I used a rental car. The 'Hotel Athena' was very convenient because it had a dedicated parking lot. It was the best condition for me. It was very close from the hotel to the main square. The accessibility was good. The room was clean, and above all, the view from the room was very good. We greeted the morning with bright sunlight. We had dinner at a restaurant in the hotel. It was a very good dinner. I also experienced breakfast. It was composed of simple and essential menus. I will stay at this hotel even if I go to Siena again. I'd like to express my gratitude to the hotel. They gave me good memories. I hope everyone is happy. See you again. Best Regards.

The photos of this hotel do it no justice. It’s beautiful, the rooms are lovely and bed is so comfortable to sleep on! It’s very clean and the staff are extremely kind! This hotel is situated right on the edge of the city centre but don’t be fooled, it’s only a 15 minute walk into the centre and with the beautiful paths of Siena and quaint shops along the way, it’s perfect. I would 100% stay here again and would recommend over and over!

Best staff, so nice & friendly. Breakfast was setup well, great staff running that as well. Rooms good size, up to date, nice windows for fresh air, 10-15min walk to main center, plenty of parking best to leave keys with front desk. Maid staff is phenomenal took care of us, june 2023. Good hit pressured shower.

Bad WiFi not even the smartTV had a connection. Even though there was a "sigillo di garanzia igiene" on the toilet it had brown spots inside :/ ventilators in the room (#703) didn't work. The room cardkey needed to be reactivated because it didn't open the room anymore after the 2nd time. The valet service and the breakfast were exceptionally great. Staff in general very polite and friendly!

I reserved a room with a balcony and a view (as part of my 50th Birthday trip in Italy) they gave us probably the worst room in their hotel, with a dirty balcony furniture and the view of a construction lot full of garbage bins and dead nature. I requested to change the room and they showed me 2 more rooms with much better view in the same floor, same category but wanted me to pay 40 Euros extra a night, but as favor they offered discount 20 Euros extra a night. I declined and after a lot of back and forth they just made the change at no cost, but with bad attitude. Next morning they "cleaned" the room but they did not refill the free waters inside the mini bar (that is the only items they offer free inside the minibar) neither they refilled the coffee or tea. The room was quite dirty, especially the floors and had a bad smell. There was a leather couch that had some weird red stains. The breakfast was just ok and their coffee is from an automatic machine. They are no flexible about even 15 minutes late check out. The good thing was the location and the free parking. Overall a bad experience.

One of the best places we have stayed at. The terrace is a great place to catch the sunset. Sierra was just amazing. Highly recommended to stay here. They even helped us organize a wine tasting/tour which was perfect

Clean, great location and excellent service. The front desk team will book you a cab, make dinner reservations and will accommodate you in anyway possible! The nicest people. Breakfast was great each morning. We will stay again. I’m sure I do not have his name correct but Asheesh was so helpful and kind. The terrace was terrific for catching a sunrise/sunset.

Worst customer service ever. DO NOT STAY HERE they will take your money and you will not have a good experience. They are inflexible, they have cockroaches in the hotel and they are not accommodating at ALL.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Athena. Quiet, fairly new location just inside the city walls but still no more than 10 minutes walk to major locations. Complimentary parking on-site is great if you have a car. Rooms are clean & well equipped and the included (if you get it) breakfast is a very complete buffet. Front desk staff very friendly & the rooftop terrace is a great place for an aperitivo or a dinner of Tuscan favourites. Great value.

When Alesso checked us in, he informed us that they were providing us with a complimentary room upgrade (one with a better view) and also provided us with an excellent review of hotel perks and accommodations. While it is a little bit of a trek to get to the hotel and the terrain is quite hilly, it was really a lovely stay. We enjoyed dining at the hotel restaurant and were provided excellent service by the wait staff (I wish I could remember our waiter's name... he was fantastic and added to our dining experience)

Booked for the Strada Bianchi in March 2022. We wanted to be in a good spot close enough to town, but not right in the centre. The reception staff were amazing when we arrived, relaxed and informal, yet professional and helpful. Quickly checked in I went to a spotlessly clean room - a single - with a great bathroom. Stayed three nights and took advantage of breakfast one morning as well - a great selection of cooked / continental / pastries which offered plenty for vegetarians as well as meat eaters! The best bits are the views from the hotel to the city and the local countryside - absolutely stunning. In photo the hotel is on the far right of image!

We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time here. The hotel is located just at the edge of the old town, in a quiet location with wonderful views of the Tuscan countryside. Rooms were very comfortable and the beds were excellent. The morning breakfast was a great selection, and we also enjoyed a fine dinner at the Mangia restaurant. Best of all, the service was fantastic, from front desk, to bar and restaurant, to the housekeeping staff. A wonderful stay and we look forward to coming back again!

Staff were friendly and the rooms were spacious but looked outdated. Only gripe was the showers in the morning were luke warn for me and my friends rooms and no milk for in room tea and coffee which we found odd.

A nice hotel! Clean and cool which was necessary! Rooms were a bit small, especially for the price but the terrace restaurant have you spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. A 10 minute walk to il campo!

Best rooftop bar in Sienna! Alessandro at the bar is absolutely fabulous, knowledgeable and kind. The views are to die for and it’s not crowded, which is great. A great place to watch the sunset over the hills of Tuscany.

Large hotel within easy waling distance to the main sites of Siena. Good size rooms and breakfast. Very helpful staff. Parking tight but we were lucky
