Always the same paints, so boring. The staff horrible, they always say « chhh » for nothing. I won’t be back.

Horrible lighting. Sections of MOST painting are unviewable with such harsh lighting. You have to wonder why they even bother showing them.

Museum consists of two parts: the second floor with old (12th - 14th century) paintings on wood (like crosses found above altars in churches), and on the first floor normal paintings from the 15th to 17th century. However there is a reoccuring theme in the whole collection, namely Madonna with child. The museum consists of about 37 rooms which take less than 2 hours. All in all I would recommend this museum because it is not too big and has a beautiful and rare collection.

If you're looking for a quiet, uncrowded, museum experience, I would highly recommend. They've got early religious works from Baroque to Enlightenment. All work is native to Siena.

Very underestimated tourist destination. Museum suggests to your attention excellent condition of medieval fine arts created mostly at Siena between XIII -XVII centuries. A lot of great master pieces created by great masters. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light.

We remember one thing. The enormous amount of madonna col bambino.

Pretty plain, poorly lit pieces. Will be of interest to some, but if altar pieces from the 14-17th century aren't your thing, I'd pass on this museum.

Never happened before: the old lady overviewing the visitors wanted to limit the number of photos taken from the frescoes. She decided one of each is enough.

If you like your icons medieval and in the Sienese gold-embossed-everything style, this is the place for you. Also a lovely portrait of sweet Bess QE1.

It only depends on your personal taste. I personally don't like paintings, I only visited that place because my family wanted to go, but not my thing.

Older exhibition, but still very nice. You can see great work of arts from the most famous sienese artists. Particulary beautiful was the room with the sightseeing of the city. The staff was kind, it was storm outside and they let us wait inside.

I visited late afternoon around PM 4. Contrary to Duomo, it was uncrowded and so quiet. So I could focus on the paintings.

Great exhibition, mostly religious art in a 2-floor-building
