After checking the camp ground out about a month ago, I reserved a spot for two nights! Firstly- this place is so freaking beautiful!! The camp hosts are wonderful people and keep the camp ground well maintained and clean ( despite some “Karen” campers that left trash and all kinds of stuff in there spot when they left- so rude) they came and picked it up right away. The bathrooms are the cleanest out houses I’ve ever used and smelled like cleaning supplies instead of nasty stuff haha. It was great. Make sure you bring all the bug repellent you have for yourself and any pets you bring as there are a TON of bug but hey haha it’s the woods what did you expect! Lots of wild life! We heard owls late at night and there’s a family of geese that swim across the lake. It’s heavenly. We tried to fish off the shore since we didn’t bring a boat but no luck both days- the fish are tricky. Tried lures and all kinds of bate and got skunked. But if you have a boat you should have better luck! There’s a meadow behind the camp ground with wild purple flowers- some really great camera ops for sure. Overall- it’s great. For a family trip, or with some friends, it’s even safe enough that I would do a solo trip. Get out there and enjoy nature 😁

There are a ton of great perks about this campsite. It was quiet, the bathrooms were well kept, and the scenery was beautiful! However, maybe it's the time of year and the late rain/snow we got but the mosquitoes were absolutely horrible. Bug spray, citronella, wind, nothing really kept them at bay and my kids had TONS of mosquito bites. Not sure we'd go back, at least not this time of year (June).

Great location, very pretty surroundings. Its tucked away off the highway. The campsites are great, and so is the lake! The lake is shallow, we walked aways out and took our paddle board all over. I would suggest water shoes, as the bottom is sludge. Lots of frogs near the bank, and we even saw a water snake! Some of the campsites have access to a little river that flows to the lake, there is a small dam before going in the lake. Weather was great, even with the mid day mountain thunder and rain storm. Be prepared for heat and rain in the summer months, also bring bug spray. We will be booking again, it is an AWESOME camping location.

Just what we were looking for on our first “camping” trip since moving to NV! Out of the beaten path yet accessible, friendly people, clean toilets and most of all, a pristine small lake enjoyed by people who appreciate it and surrounded by meadows and forests. The back of an SUV, albeit with a comfortable air mattress is no longer considered an option in this household…

Beautiful beautiful location! The lake was warm enough to swim in and at the edge of the campground, so very close to walk to. Our site was on the Alpine meadow site, also totally gorgeous natural beauty. Bathrooms are vault toilets. Well kept but can be really smelly at times. Bring water- lots. Sierraville is about 20-25 mins away.
