The Japanese food here is authentic and tasty. Although its a small shop, it feels like you're in Japan. The food is nicely prepared, and also priced reasonably. The service staff were extremely friendly and kind. Their sashimi cuts were thick and overall a great experience!

Excellent Japanese food at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is run by a Japanese woman and her son, who is the chef. She was the only person helming the restaurant when we were there. It was a full house on a weekday. The wait was worth it and she was very friendly. Reservations are a must. There is a private room that seats up to 6 persons, but it is difficult to get a booking for the room.

TRULY A GEM!! Must try! The food and ambience are so good. The cold Soba is PERFECT! The soft shelled crab is also a favourite of mine.

Good quality Japanese food for an affordable price. The place gets pretty crowded, so the food takes a while to arrive. Got a free pudding for the wait

Came 3 weeks ago and was impressed with the menu - many items to try, couldn't quite decide where to start! We had the assorted sashimi (generous portion!), potato croquette (too hungry and forgot to photo before we start but it was so good....), grilled hamachi cheek (very fresh), angus beef, scallops (yummy!) and squid. Topped it up with a small bottle of sake. Service was friendly - like a typical family restaurant in Japan. Restaurant was relatively busy and yet service was still brisk. Very reasonable prices. Definitely intend to be back again.

One of the best authentic Japanese sushi! Highly recommended! Price were alright for the quality they provide. Decent portion too! The only negative is the place can get too noisy during lunch hour with doctors with hospital scrubs chomping their food loudly, not sure you supposed to dine out with hospital scrubs tho! Someone can enlighten?

1st time trying and I now fully understand why some reviewers said what they said. The restaurant is about average. Ordered the chirashi for $17. 99 Quality of the sashimi and the type of sushi offered are so so. Not that value for money. For the price, there should at least be one item of higher value eg. scallop or hamachi with perhaps some ikura but it was simply plain basic. Also tried the oyster dynamite and the mentaiko mushroom..both were not bad. My actual rating would be a 3.5* but it just could not make the mark for a 4*. Also not much of an ambience in the main hall versus the private room.

Great little authentic Japanese restaurant. And run by friendly Japanese lady. Good food, with authentic flavors. Ask about their specials. Had the grilled salmon wings and they were amazing. Overall food menu seems to be the traditional Japanese dishes, not the more modern fusion trend. They also have happy hour beer specials.

Great friendly service, sumptuous food in a small yet cozy ambiance. Highly recommended! Only downside is that they don’t accept credit cards; they only accept cash, PayLah or Grab Pay.

Everything was good except the angus beef, which was quite tough. The stand-out dish was the pork shabu hotpot (the broth was very sweet!), which was comfort food done well. Prices were very reasonable, and service was good.

MIZ Japanese restaurant is a hidden place at level 2, and if you are not observant, you cannot notice the small narrow door along the corridor. The food is good and the price is mid-range. However, it is very squeezy because the restaurant is very small. The walkway is also quite narrow, which may pose fire hazards. The restaurant plays good Japanese music.

An unique restaurant in an unassuming place, opened by Japanese! The service is great and the food is quite nice but on the steeper side.

It was a really cozy place and felt authentic. Price was affordable but do whatsapp to book in advance due to the limited seating capacity. Garlic udon was really unique!

A rustic Japanese restaurant owned by Japanese. They use homemade ingredients that are quite different in taste compared to commercially available ingredients, and that might be a charm for some people. However, because I'm already used to commercial tastes, I find it difficult to accept the flavours here. Also, the onsen egg was undercooked. There's still quite a bit of raw transparent whites on the egg. They do not accept cards. Only cash, paynow/paylah.

an authentic japanese food managed by a japanese lady. found this restaurant by searching via google map. i’m very satisfied by the food and service i have visited this restaurant 4 times in the past three months! i highly recommend their grilled teriyaki salmon. the meat is moist and tender, and the crispy skin is just right (i gave this four-star because the 4th i ate it the meat was a bit dry, my unlucky day). another favourite is the takoyaki. probably the best takoyaki i’ve tasted you should try. their gyoza is also delicious. it’s crispy and not too oily. will definitely visit the restaurant again and again to try the rest of the food! the dining area is located on the 2nd floor so put that in mind if you invite elderly to dine with you. the space is also not that big and usually very crowded during lunch and dinner so if you come in group i think you better book some seats first. if you’re alone or just with plus one you can come without booking but better come early or later after the rush hour.

Miz is definitely one of the hidden gems of Japanese cuisine in Singapore. Perhaps the best raw fish I've ever eaten! Lunch set portions are fairly big and impressive. They have a considerable number of offerings in vegetarian too! Staffs are very courteous and ambience is also great. If you're ever going there, don't forget to look out for special promotions on the walls:)

If you want to try out some good Japanese dishes at reasonable prices, this is definitely the place where you should go! My favorite dishes are Garlic Udon, Scallop Dynamite and Beef Sukiyaki, they are very popular too. Sake or any alcohols is also very reasonable compared to any other restaurant! I recommend Sapporo draught beer. You'll definitely have a good experience and would like to visit again to try some other dishes. They have surely made two loyal customers :)

We ordered: β€’ Tamago sushi β€’ Pork Curry β€’ Beef sukiyaki β€’ Tonkatsu I'll be very real with my review, the Beef Sukiyaki possessed a nice subtle sweetness that was pleasant to the tongue. The Tonkatsu is very well seasoned and doesn't lack flavour. The curry doesn't have that strong profile that most Singaporeans like, but rather it's light yet flavourful! Tamago was light, sweet yet refreshing without the soy sauce

The tuna of the negitoro is creamy, smooth and has no metallic taste. So, it shows it they are using quality tuna. The tempura are crispy and light tasting of sesame oil. The prawn of the tempura is still sweet. It is really good. We will be back. Edit: came back another day and had more good food! Yummy.

Simple typical Japanese fare with home cooking feel. Reasonably price. Set on 2nd floor of pre-war house. Limited tables. Service super slow because there's only 1 waitress doing everything. Be prepared to wait.

Authentic and affordable Japanese food!! The place give a very Japanese vibe. We had the soba and udon. Both were of generous quantity on top of quality. Both me and my wife were very pleased with the food served. One thing is the small seating area on 2nd level, you will want to do a reservation ahead before coming as they tend to fill up pretty quick during lunch and dinner time. It’s missing one star because my wife can’t eat sashimi, so we will update the star once she can eat πŸ˜…

Nice place for a simple and affordable Japanese meal. The atmosphere and service makes it feel like an authentic Japanese experience. Don't go here expecting fancy or "instagramable" dishes, decor, or service. It is more like a homey family-run restaurant that is great for a casual night out.
