Hipstercity was pretty cool! I took the train from the airport and had no problem finding the hostel. It's a bright yellow building so you can't miss it. The lady at reception was superrrr friendly. I don't remember her name, but she was an angel. Also, the lady that cleaned the rooms everyday was super nice. The rooms were spacious and clean, the breakfast was simple, but it was included. You had bread, coffee, fruit, cereal, biscuits, and tea at your disposal which was nice. The location was PERFECT. Literally less than a 10 minute walk from Clarke Quay where there are tons of bars, restaurants, and nightlife. You're also less than a 15-minute walk from Chinatown. The location is unbeatable for the price you pay. Minor drawbacks: No social activities provided. Some guests weren't very social. Most people were either traveling in couples or kept to themselves, which is fine, I just wish the hostel organized some kind of activities for people looking to socialize. Like a game night or even a simple afternoon coffee meet & greet would be nice. There is a club right below the hostel, so you're going to hear bass thumping until about 3am, HOWEVER the hostel does make this very clear on their website and they give you earplugs. Just putting that out there for light sleepers :) Also, the lofts upstairs were really nice, they just didn't have much ventilation once you climbed to the top bunk. It got really hot up there because you're sleeping between two metal walls, so I woke up sweating every night. I will say that there are a lot of stairs, so be sure to pack light if possible! Other than that, it was GREAT! I actually ended up extending my stay for two nights because I did enjoy Hipster City, I just wanted to give a fair and detailed review of my 5-night experience there. I would 100% stay there again :)

Really quality small hostel with unique privacy curtains that I’ve not seen in other places. Sort of similar to a capsule hotel but larger. Lots of space in the double bed for two people. Location is great- it’s easy to access the surrounding city and Clarke Quay nightlife. Location is very loud- suitable for heavy sleepers but less so for light sleepers.

Pros. We had a nice experience at this hostel. The rooms were clean and quiet. There was space for our stuff with a small safe. The staff were friendly and helpful. They let us check in early. The place is Easily accessed by train from the airport. Cons. There was only one toilet for our level. And 2 showers. The showers are frosted glass, so if there is another person in the bathroom they can see in. There is no locks for shower doors and no lock on the shower room. As a female traveller this was my only concerning issue.

During my stay, this place didn’t have warm bath and didn’t inform guests. I passed the issue to them but nothing change, still no warm bath during my stay. They don’t issue any refunds and no responds in the end. Also this place doesn’t separate baths between male and female, and the shower doors are transparent ish. You can still see through the bodies shape. Please don’t stay at this place.

Pros: nice and cozy space for 2 people, comfortable mattress Cons: smells like damp everywhere. Once you step outside the room, it's very hot and humid. Bathroom really small and feels claustrophobic. Even though we went to sleep quite late we couldn't sleep because of the loud music from the clubs around

I'm locked out of my room at 2am despite having a card and following all instructions. I now have to book another hotel for tonight and all of my things are held hostage here. Absolutely unacceptable.

Price quality of this hostel is great. Exactly what we expected. But we could not sleep at all. On 2 nights we ve slept 1 to max 3 hours. Due to the loud basses of a nightclub in that street.. And sleeping is still main reason for a hostel..

Doesn't respond at any message at all. Doesn't want to get a solution when there is a problem. Not very friendly and service minded.

Amazing location, great staff and great facilities. The nightclub downstairs does generate some noise but I actually still found it easy to sleep as the room itself is very quiet. The included breakfast is great as is the common room which is very vibrant and cool.

Location is great, the bed area is so much better than other dormitories and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! They provide you ear plugs so basically you don’t really hear anything but there’s a club next door and you cannot avoid vibration noise. I was able to fall asleep but if you are a light sleeper you should avoid here

Decent hotel. Singapore is pricy land so thoigh it's a hostel, will have to be spending around 70$ per night. Pros: walking distance to raffle place MRT station. Walking distance to the singapore river side eateries. Near to the heart of the city Cons : gets noisy in night due to its and the parallel street filed up with pubs and bars

Love the place. House renovation. Settle for hostel but with sufficient privacy. Chose the double loft, you will have a desk to work and a bed on top to sleep. Privacy curtains are great. There is a safe. Beautiful place. Cleanliness is the highlight. Staffs are great. Only downside is the office chair not suitable to sit for 5 hours straight. Toilet can be limited during peak. But overall I really enjoyed.

We loved the ambience and decor of this place! It was nice to be able to get a double bed and the curtains made things feel much more private. The breakfast/lobby area was so cute and we enjoyed oatmeal and toast with jam here every morning! The bathrooms were just okay, but met our needs fine. The location can be noisy at night, but it's fun to be in the middle of everything and within easy walking distance of buses and trains. This hostel made our trip fantastic!

Dan is an amazing human being. When I asked to book another night he found a solution and told me about a hostel down the street he had negotiated with to have me. He also gave directions on how to catch a Coach to travel out of Singapore, and other travel tips. Commendations +++++Service (Dan's tips). Also there's a DeLonghi Espresso Machine and 3 kinds of tea!!! Free to use the cups etc. in the cool lounge full of books and sofas ++++. Double mattress "capsule" bed with curtains. A little cramped but decent Recommendations - Free shampoo in the showers for the budget traveller (Singapore hostels are expensive)

We stayed 3 nights, the bed was very comfy and in all a nice atmosphere! You get free coffee which was cool for a relaxing start in the day. If you're sensible to noise it gets more complicated as there are many bars in the street and you share the room with others. The bathrooms were spotless.

A nice take on the capsule hostel vibe. Good points include the air-conditioning, curtained off individual rooms and the breakfast. The showers are in need of an update or modernization. Doors/locks on them broken. Only one set of hooks between two showers to hang towels etc. Being an old building, the provision for fire escapes is non existent so be aware there's only one entrance and exit to the whole building (that I could see). Also to note, is in a party/clubbing area so earplugs are required. That said, would stay again.

Very accomodating and friendly staff. Value for money 👍👍 The only downside is that the hot shower does not work sometimes and the towel given to me had stains. The noise coming from the bars outside is tolerable. Hotel is located near the Clarke Quay MRT station

Good place for travelers! Easy access to MRT, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, China town and Clarke Quey Night noise from adjacent bars is tolerable for me without ear plug! Will visit again next time to Singapore 🇸🇬 From🇹🇼

Very loud(both bass and vocals) music from the bar nearby. Not recommend if you fancy a good night's sleep. Of 4 nights I stayed, barley slept for 4-5 hours a day. Music goes on till 2-3 AM(and I was not there on weekends). Loudness will depend upon the bed allotted. What good are other amenities if you can't even sleep.

Close to the metro station and tourist atractions. Lots of bars on the street to hangaround. Clean and comfy(to hostel standarts) room. Bathroom needs a rework tho.

Location is really good, but very loud of the disco and karaoke downstairs until 3am. Didn't change your sleep sheet even I requested and stayed for 3 nights. 非常吵,床還會被音樂震動

very friendly staff and quite fancy for a hostel. high speed Wi-Fi, ample options for teas and coffee and breakfast items in the cafe; a pretty solid experience. if you can afford it, pay for the rooms on the fourth floor, you have a lot more personal space.

Very cozy and quaint place. Unique concept dormitory (with privacy) in the main centre of Singapore. Staff are very very friendly and helpful. I recommend this to who are travelling on a budget. 👍🏣

(+) Scents so nice. Beds are clean, enough power supply, bathroom and toilets are small but nice. Have complete toiletries, you just need to bring toohbrush. Super friendly staffs. (-) The location is a bit far from bus/mrt stations. Breakfast are so so and always same everyday, I preferred to buy at a convenience store. Silk robes are stinks (not dried well). The main door have no locks, meanwhile the surrounding are crowded esp at night.

If you're looking for a budget accommodation which is walkable to CBD and close of both bus and MRT station and feel claustrophobic to sleep in pods, this is the place to go. It's a premium hostel with dedicated slots for solo and couple travelers with privacy curtains. You have to use the shared bathroom at each floor. I was quite apprehensive that I won't be able to use it due to many people sharing it but none of the 5 days I stayed I faced this problem. Just plan your itinerary for the day and you're set. Met many folks from different countries and all were accommodating. Book it in advance to get a better deal! They provide basic free breakfast, fast wifi access and nice staff who will help you all the way. Shoutout to Risa at the reception to help me book tickets. Will be back!

Newly opened, still working out the kinks. fairly clean and friendly staff. Flaky wifi. Very loud nightclub on first floor. Somehow there are three showers but only one toilet on the third level, to share between eight people.
