The equipments are old and worn out. Treadmills as pictured, were mostly not functional and Management did not even bother to address these issues. The entire club is poorly managed, and all they are interested is only to meet their monthly sales targets by getting more people to sign up. Shower facilities are not properly cleaned, and mold is visible along the side of the walls. This club charge a premium fortnightly membership fee, but facilities did not meet up to expectations. Sadly, this sub-standard club with minimal equipments is not even comparable to some gyms in Singapore which offers lower membership fee. The club don’t even engage cleaners, like all other gyms around, and I could see the PTs there clearing trash bins. I began to wonder if they are professionals trainer, or cleaners. It definitely do not reflect well on the Management. Strongly recommended to stay away from Virgin Active.

A great gym. Over years on incorrect training, I had developed a bit of a turtle back. Channel, their best personal trainer, worked with me to improve both mobility, strength and alignment. She has superb knowledge and works diligently with you toward achieving your goals The facilities are great having just undergone upgrades. I also thoroughly enjoy the pilaties classes

Customer service close to non-existent. Once you sign up, its goodbye and don't bother us even if they made errors on payments. Repeated requests to get someone call back ignored weeks on end. Dialled using mobile to request call back, promised they will but never did. Staff pay lip service espousing how much they value customer service but reality is anything but. Error on payments conveniently washover hoping customers don't notice. Big letdown on customer experience.

I would like to share my subpar experience with this gym. I have signed up mainly for the pilates classes and did a trial on 31 October. I was happy with the class and proceeded to sign up for a year long package. However, to my dismay, from November onwards, the pilates class format were changed to include pilates athletic classes. These pilates athletic classes are totally not what pilates is about - breath and control. Instead, the reformer is used as a machine to do various non-pilates movements on it such as jumping on the reformer bed; I tried one session and was amazed at how it can even be called pilates. As such, the number of classes that I could attend for pilates was diminished if I were to exclude these pilates athletic classes. This change in pilates class format was not highlighted to me by the consultant assigned to me and I felt it is not ethical as I had explicitly told him that I am only looking for pilates classes and was happy that I found a location that was very convenient for me. Furthermore, some of the pilates instructors are just really not so competent, unlike the instructor that I had my trial with (which was the reason why I signed up in the first place). Other issues I faced were the inability to claim my personal training session which was supposedly included in my membership. I have asked my consultant how to book a session and was informed to send an email. The response to the email was that I should walk into any gym to book the session. When I went to the gym, I asked but was told to book it with my consultant. In the end, I was not even able to book this session which is included in my membership. With all these issues, I have decided that it is no longer worth my time to continue on with this gym, and have paid the $500 to terminate my membership. I have asked for partial waiver given the above issues but was rejected. Hopefully people are aware about these issues before signing up for this gym, especially if you are looking for pilates classes like I am.

I've been a virgin active member since October 2023. What i really like about the gym is that they have a reformer machine in the gym space for private use. Virgin Active Duo Galleria had a really nice, cosy gym experience compared to Marina One and Raffles Place which are really big gyms. Since the start of the year, i was sad to find out that they had closed Duo Galleria permanently. I was attended to by Rifa at Raffles Place. Rifa is such a ball of positive energy. She is so warm and kind and made me feel right at home at the very large and busy, Raffles Place Gym. The gym is undergoing some reno works and one part of it is still closed. When i expressed by concerns about not having access to the reformer and rowing machine at the gym, she went to the next level to find out if they are going to reopen these equipment at Raffles and proceeded to send me a message to update me on the situation. Thank you Rifa for caring for your members with such an open heart.

As a current member I can tell that I'm very disappointed in Virgin Active. When joining I expected a top notch customer service, which I obviously didn't get here. Leaving Singapore for a trip I put my membership on freeze and due to family emergency I had to extend it, but was a day late due to the hectic circumstances with my family. I was expecting that for the price I'm paying for the membership and promised premium service it wouldn't be a problem to refund and reverse the freeze, especially for such a big worldwide company as Virgin. I was contacted by their senior receptionist Roslynda and was asked to provide the copy of my itinerary with the following refusal of my request. I have responded telling about my disappointment regarding their decision and that I expected better service asking to reconsider, but never heard back from anyone from Virgin since then. This is definitely not a "premium" customer service they promise when joining... There were also other times when management was not acting professionally such as providing wrong information about trial sessions or receptionists being unfriendly and inattentive, which I was letting go until this time. Not to mention that the gyms can be quite dirty, especially the one at Raffles Place. After such bad experience I feel like Virgin Active doesn't provide a premium service but rather feels too "premium" to care for their customers. Unfortunately I'm tied up for a year of membership, but there is no way I will renew it after it finishes. Such a shame.

As a former member of Virgin Active, I highly caution anyone from joining this unscrupulous gym. When I joined there was only the Raffles Place outlet but I was told that a Tanjong Pagar branch would be opening in about 3-6 months but ended up being about 9 months. The pool was supposed to be opened together with the gym but got a further 2-3 months delay. The front of house staff would continually lie about the openings and would always say that they would be open in the “next month” for many months on end. Joining their classes was also a hellish experience. Popular classes like hot yoga and vinyasa yoga for example, require you to register the same night or in the early hours of the next day to secure a spot. Then when you actually do, there is no organization and the members just lay their mats wherever they wish and if you don’t come early you wouldn’t even have a proper spot. Their billing system was also extremely buggy, with my charges often being incorrect or failing to be charged (in which case they call you multiple times a day) while I had no problems using my card elsewhere. Yet, that same diligence was never extended to when they increase your fees. They had never bothered to reach out to me to inform me that they would be increasing my dues after my contract was fulfilled (three times before I finally had enough and decided to leave). They claimed to have sent me an email each time (which probably ended up in my spam folder, where they rightfully belong anyway) when I had raised the issue to them, but not once did I see any of that diligence to actually contact me to ensure that I actually knew of the increases. Given, they might have all those fancy and fun facilities and features, but with how busy it always gets, you hardly would have the opportunity to enjoy it anyways. Off peak isn’t really an option either considering how short their operating hours each week are at most of their outlets. When they have so many members and so few clubs, you would think that they should keep their outlets open more right? Nope. All these issues combined with the little things like poor housekeeping, frequently damaged facilities, pathetic beverage offerings, unfriendly staff members, extremely uncomfortable workout shorts, worn out towels, etc, just sealed the deal for me to leave. To add insult to the injury, the welcome gifts I got were hideous pink low quality pleather duffle bag and shoe bag while soon after they started giving out sleek and handsome Under Armor ones instead. My whole experience with Virgin Active was one that left me feeling conned, harassed, and endlessly frustrated. Unless you want to feel that as well, I highly recommend you to search for other options.

Horrible experience. VA didn’t honour their contract and continued to charge me even when I stop going, then increased the termination fee inaccurately, and ignored my complaints lodged against them. Besides that, I remembered the fruity beverage is not always filled up. The tap will not work for weeks. Old equipment at some of the outlets, namely Tanjong Pagar. Overall, classes were great. Attended some good yoga/Pilates classes. I am just extremely disappointed with them not honouring their contract and continuously charge me even when I insisted to terminate my contract.

Standard is getting from bad to worse! Especially Yoga standard is very low than all places in Singapore. Yoga management dropped down in recent times as most teachers are boring and less qualified and less experienced

My wife is currently training at this outlet together with personal trainer Eric. He is super professional, knowledgeable and constantly checks in on the well being after the training. On top of that, Eric goes beyond his job scope to help us with alot of the administrative tasks. As for the outlet, the staff are friendly, place is clean and usually lesser people on weekend so I can enjoy the facilities more.

This gym is only interested in signing new members. Thereafter, they simply don't bother anymore, whether you need help and etc. They forgot that we are still paying for the fees! Indirectly, to keep their business running! I tried calling their One Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar outlets today ie 7 July 2022. No one ever picked up the phone at both outlets. I tried calling from morning at around 11am until after lunch time at around 2pm, still nobody picked up the phone ever! I'm just trying to get help as I'm unable to login online to book the classes. If there's a half star for this review, I wouldn't hesitate to give them a half star review. To those of you who are considering to sign up with this gym, there are plenty of better gyms in Singapore just not this one. I'm cancelling my membership with them literally today.

Large gymfloor but shockingly lacking in equipment. Dumbbells are old and worn out, and they don't even have enough of them. Alot of useless machines that nobody uses, but don't even have key machines like a leg curl machine. Considering the fees they charge, it's pretty disgraceful. Did my trial and never went back again.

Self-entitled staff at the front desk who behaved sensitively at the expense of the customers. The management needs to retrain their staff in their manners and the etiquette in facing paying customers.

Used to love going to Virgin due to its convenience. Circuit breaker was the event that highlighted the poor management of Virgin Active Singapore (VA). If you’re deciding between VA and it’s competitors such as fitness first and pure I would highly recommend NOT going to VA. After Circuit breaker VA cancelled several classes and failed to notify members. After telling the management at Raffles Place that I would like to cancel my membership as VA has made a material departure of terms e.g. permanent termination of their Ariel yoga classes (which was VA’s selling point and why I signed up), she replied “we are not a yoga studio”. Their customer service has left me speechless. Due to COVID-19 safe distancing restrictions, there’s a maximum number of people allowed in VA’s facilities. Once you get past the difficult hurdle of even getting a slot to go into the gym. You will realise it is packed and equipment has to be shared. For the price VA is demanding, it would be better to take your money elsewhere.

Signed up with VA to do personal training with Mira - A bubbly personality with dedication in work - always updating herself to give her best in sessions! She gently and assertively pushes me to new heights! Also her, that I know VA; love the Himalayan Salt room which I go to chill. Well maintained gym and facilities, with many more spaces and classes to try out!

I have been a member since 2016 and today (18th jan) i decided to terminate my membership and was told i need to pay up till 29th because of their direct debit protocol. So when my account on freeze they can pro rate the fees that i have to pay during freeze period but when i want to terminate the membership they cannot pro rate because of the 'protocol'. If you question them they will say this is on your contract when you joining. Dont think i have ever heard of this when i joining the gym but so much for the 'you can cancel the membership anytime after you join one year'. Thanks for the lesson VA u sure know how to talk.

Not as great as before. Equipment and facility are getting old with visible wear and tear everywhere. Also, trainers are leaving their personal sanitary items everywhere and not wiping down the equipment that they use, although the club has requested for members to ensure that they do their wipe downs. Very peculiar dynamic. I hope their professionalism increases.

Was here for a trial. Was surprised that no staff tried to sell me membership. You go downstairs to the changing room. The lower floor is also where the yoga studio is located. You can collect a bath towel. The smaller towel to wipe your sweat is located around the gym, just got to hunt for it. I like how there are quite a number of facilities like a steam room, ice room, salt room, and a foot spa area. However, the steam room was pretty hot and the ice room wasn't very cold. I like how there's a variety of equipment around. There's also quite a lot of space on the upper floor for your workouts.

Pricier than most gym, even with the AIA Vitality 30% off 12-months plan, but the gyms are mostly new. Raffles is the flagship branch, so maybe the equipment and shower facilities are slightly aged, but you have got to try out their special spin class, The Trip! Find out more about it from their website, but it's basically this virtual reality ride through scenarios! I went all the way to Japan today, and survived the ride! Cheers!

Luxury & Gigantic gym. I was shocked at the size of the gym as it occupies a number of floors/levels; with changing rooms & showers followed by cardio machines followed by weights etc. This is truly an amazing gym - don’t believe the negative reviews with people saying the equipment needs to be replaced - this is an amazing gym also has a fantastic view of CBD area which helps :)

I hate to say this but I used to love VA because of the gym. But equipment in the recent months is getting worn out and damaged. The contract also has pretty unfavorable terms for locals. There are hidden contractual terms that favor expats that allow for termination when relocating/loss of employment which are then verbally communicated with locals to cite flexibility of contractual terms. This is just short of fraud.

Everything is so well organized, equiped and thoughtfully designed from visual, scent, sound, customer's care and felt welcome... even exercise attired are providing. Thumbs up.

Very nice ambience despite being around for years, still great upkeep and would keep me motivated to go back to gym. Only qualm is that the steam and ice room are too small. Though there will be more than enough machines and space available even during peak period, the mentioned rooms are small and probably only able to accommodate 4 seating adults max, try to avoid timing after classes to enjoy those rooms!

Spacious gym spanning 3 floors. Come during non peak hours like mornings 11am-12pm, afternoons 2-430pm, for a serene and productive workout with all the space and equipment you need! Classes seem popular too! I also particularly like the transparent rates that are published online so you don't have to try to find out about insider's rates or have to make appointments with sales staff to enrol yourself. It's not the cheapest gym around but you do get great environment with welcoming staff.

Joined this gym only because pure fitness at raffles place closed down. What the other reviews say about the state of the gym is true. The equipment is horrendous. Weightlifting bars are rusty, plates are cracked, and the treadmills are so badly maintained that pressing the speed increase button does nothing for a long while. You probably have to increase speed by more than 1kmh in order to have a noticeable difference. And the area outside the bathrooms smells like sewage and has been smelling like that for a couple of wks now. I sympathize with the poor staff who have to man the towel station. A good proportion of the lockers in the bathroom are out of functional use too. In this day and age, you’d think there’d be cloths or sanitizers everywhere for people to clean the equipment yes? Wrong. There’s a big roll of toilet paper that u squirt sanitizer on to and use to wipe down. It’s so inconvenient no wonder no one does it at all. Honestly. Go to another VA club.

Overall, the gym is ok. My biggest issue and why I cancelled my membership is that the free weights, weight machines, cable machines etc.. are always incredibly busy. Meaning long waits or working in. Equipment is frequently broken and finding a locker difficult. Good location in the CBD - but allot of alternatives that are better. Good point was a no issue cancellation policy, they didn't seem bothered at all.

[Edit: Thanks Virgin Active Raffles Place for replying my every query. Much appreciated.] The gym mentioned about upgrading their shower rooms - closed for a couple of weeks and reopened, and to be found out that only deep cleaning was done, as we noted the cracked glass in one of the shower rooms was not even replaced. Which further leads us to think that the gym never clean the shower rooms thoroughly, and deem deep cleaning as "upgrading". Besides that, the shower water from shower stalls always flow to their opposite. As usual, the gym equipment are not at tip top condition and especially lack of 4kg dumb bells. Honestly, is the gym going to shrink its area? Almost half of it is closed.

Good facilities and up to date equipment, friendly staff. Wish the Grid area could be freed after 6pm some days during the week, so that people train with their own plans could use the facilities.

Great facilities, very clean, amazing spa, friendly staff and good range of classes. I will give it four stars if the classes begin to start on time instead of pandering to late comers all the time - if people are late they will just have to catch up instead of everyone else in the class having to wait or listen to instructions re-explained. It is very annoying - especially if you have an appointment/meeting/job to get to. Also would be good to start using natural detergents - having a really good workout and feeling healthy is kind of spoiled my inhaling carcinogenic fumes from industrial cleaners used in the changing rooms and elsewhere.

The best gym in my life and in the world. All facilities are well-maintained. They serve lots of gx programs, which have a lot of fun. If you get any gs classes everyday, you can lose weight 5kg in 6weeks like me. Haha. And I’d like to say thank Mary for her kindness. If you’d like to join this gym, she can help you well.

Extremely bad experience with virgin active!! I bought one year membership and informed the receotionst few months back that I will not continue it once its finished. But recently found out they are still charging me on monthly basis. I called in and the person named Serene has showed extremely bad attitude to me and was not helpful at all! I'm so disappointed with my whole experience with virgin active and will never recommend anybody to this gym!!!

Good equipment conditions despite the years. Love the lounge and the free wifi. Definitively a top notch gym if you are willing to pay the price.

Gym membership required. Diversity of class is great: yoga, spin, body pump, HIIT. They also have a sauna, a Himalayan sea salt room and sleeping pods.

Equipment could use an upgrade as they feel sticky especially the plates. Also, where's the seated cable row machine? Odd exclusion for all Virgin Active gyms. But it's in a good area and the staff are friendly.

A very complete gymnasium with many options for classes. Now with the covid is difficult to get room for a class, but in normal times the options are very wide and the site is very careful and everything like new. The workers are always with a smile and that is appreciated and shows.

Signed up for a 4 month package, & asked to remove auto renewal option at the time of sign up (I’d specifically asked no auto renewal as I was signed up for other classes post 4 months). But I was still charged for additional 3 months as well as membership pausing charges - both of which I hadn’t requested. Upon enquiry I was informed that my sales associate tag had left the company & thus, due to lack of records / details my over charges cannot be refunded. Pretty poor experience with the company where I had to pay the price for lack of proper communication between sales associates & admin / finance team. The facilities / classes itself are pretty decent - location is convenient (though I’ve cancelled my referrals post this experience).

I love this gym. The staff are very friendly, my trainer is great, the facilities are outstanding and very nice amenities, they even have gym clothes (shirt/shorts) available for us. The price for a gym is reasonable for what you get. My health has improved and I feel great.

Highly trained international fitness trainers, in-house nutritionist, TCP Doctor are available for care for you. Membership cost is attractive too.

Completely addicted to Les Mills The Trip spin class. Can literally do it daily. Amazing instructors, visuals and music. It always feel like I am on holiday to Egypt, Japan, USA, Europe despite the travel restrictions.

Equipment here is mostly good. Good customer service in helping me gain access (I’m with another virgin active internationally). Unfortunately the plates and barbells were a bit worn out. The knurling had worn off most of them and there weren’t any bar specifications on the sides of the barbells as they had fallen off from wear. As I mostly powerlift this was a bit of an issue, along with the fact that there weren’t that many squat racks or platforms.

I have been training at Virgin Active Raffles Place for a year now, and I am extremely happy with my experience at this gym. The gym itself is well-maintained and always clean. The equipment is top-notch, with a wide variety of machines and weights to suit all types of workouts. Whether I'm doing strength training, cardio, or functional exercises, I always have access to the equipment I need.

The 3 equipments are 'out of order' for at least 2 months now. The more I come the fewer equipment is available.

I came from another club and I can say that Virgin Active in Raffles is a top class. Not only their equipment are great but the staff from the Reception and especially that lady Ederlyn are superb, they make you feel at home. Christian, one of the trainers is also very professional amd friendly. I would recommend Ederlyn and Christian if you plan of going there.!!!

Classes are great with amazing instructors. Being a member of VA is definitely a good investment to build a healthy lifestyle. My only feedback is the equipment & weights which need to be replaced with new one, some of them are too old. The rest are good, especially the locker facilities. Special thanks to my consultant, Rifa who always be there in delivering good services:) All VA team are friendly, keep it up!

Great place to workout tbh, although I mostly do classes instead of using gym equipments, classes were amazing especially bodypump and yoga. Boxing and Pilates were good as well. Unlimited classes however need to book early or classes gets fully booked quite fast tbh. Facilities and classes are 4/5 still Need some improvements tbh but had to score 5/5 coz my Agent Leon is amazing and truly helpful in all my needs. Will recommend YALL to sign up coz their customer service (mostly Leon) is top Tier. ❤️

I’ve been a member since sometime Apr 23’ & my moments at VA has always been pleasant. VA has friendly & helpful front desk & operations team that makes your fitness journey a great one to begin & end with. Also, shout out to trainer Suffian, for which, I’ve attended the Grid class on early Saturday morning. His class was packed with variations & dynamic movements. Well thought & explosive as a whole! Looking forward to more & better experiences in VA! Great good, guys!

Virgin Active has been my go-to fitness haven, and I can't praise my trainer, Jimmy, enough. From bouncing back after an injury to unraveling core fitness forgotten basics like bracing and tempo, Jimmy's been the MVP. His patience and hands-on guidance, not to mention those regular check-ins, make every workout feel like a tailored experience. Whether it's a morning boost or an evening wind-down, Virgin Active, with Jimmy on the team, is the perfect place to be.

many thanks to Jonjon from Raffles Place branch who assisted with all my inquiries re: membership and gym / class offerings, he sought to understand what I am looking for, explained which class could suit my goal, booked us for the gym trial and Yoga Calm class for the date and time we’ve requested, all with very prompt responses! We love the facilities and variety of classes being offered together with the membership fee ; thereafter Jonjon assisted with the very seamless sign-up for membership! Thanks much Jon!
